What little native opposition that arose was simply obliterated and the tribes subdued and assimilated. By 492 all of Africa and Madagascar were part of the Clan Corvo.

When I was seven I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up.
I wanted to be a fire truck.

Seriously,I wanted to be a fire truck: drive around with lights and sirens with firemen to put out fires.

I have a few of those things still. I get to work with lights, sirens, smoke and I kind of worked with firemen, but not from a fire truck; actually from a stage at a club called “Four Alarm”.

Author’s Note: No long-winded author’s note this time. Except that… it seems this story is the least popular of the stories I’ve written so far (not that I’ve written a lot heehee). Even so, hope you guys give it a chance nevertheless. BUT! Be warned – this is a verrry sentimental kind of story, with buckets of sugar-sweet scenes sprinkled liberally throughout. Larry limps home after getting beaten up. The neighborhood he lived in with his parents was a rough neighborhood. The boys of the neighborhood hated him because he wasn’t any good at playing any of the sports he tried out for. It also didn’t help that he looked younger than he really was and was of short stature either.

His father was embarrassed about him and called him a sissy because he liked to dance and do girly things. His mother, on the other hand, didn’t really do anything with him or show him any type of love. She was more interested in her looks and socializing.

It was just after one in the afternoon when we arrived at the house in Wiltshire. We’d taken a pretty roundabout route just in case we were being followed but a diversion through some very narrow lanes in South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire had made it next to impossible for any vehicle to follow us without us seeing them.

Jemma got out at the top of the drive to do a quick reconnoitre of the property and the surrounding land. She checked her Glock and then smiled at me as she disappeared into the undergrowth.

My name is...well actually I should say I was born with the name of Trevor Marks. I know not the best, but then again not the worst. My mother Louise Marks is, I should say was, of mennonite/hudderite background. I have never met my grandparents.

To explain that, you have understand my mother a bit. When she was young she fell in love with the idea of teaching, in a school, that was not in the "community". She left with my father, who I have never met nor know his name, and after going to a "heathen" university for her degree, took up teaching.
