The Stone of Selana

Over on Bob Arnold's F&SF site, The Stone of Selana is complete. It is the first of a trilogy, so be warned if you start it expecting a final wrap-up at its end. The novel is epic fantasy, so there is much darkness in it, but not as much as I've seen elsewhere in the mainstream. And it is primarily mainstream. Almost no TG and only a modest amount of lesbian reference. The evil-doers are quite evil and do some nasty things to their enemies, some of it in a sexual way, so be prepared. But that isn't the main focus of the novel, it's fantasy. So if you are a fan of fantasy, check it out.

Cinderella Zombie

Can there be a happy ending for a zombie? Is such a thing possible? Will a Scary Codmother…er, Fairy Godmother, appear? Or is that just wishful thinking?

The Stone of Selana

For those of you who enjoy epic fantasy, here is a novel over on Bob's OtherWorldsR.US site that has been publishing a chapter a week for some time. It touches on lesbian themes, and has some minor TG plotline in one chapter, but by and large is a classic fantasy novel.

and hopefully have it ready for December (maybe the contest?) I have some vague ideas of where I'd like to explore next, but if anyone out there has suggestions I'm very willing to listen. No promises on what I might use, but don't let that stop you!

Where is My Gift?

We often ask of the world, ‘What has life given me?’ This is my answer. It isn’t especially poetic and it isn’t particularly dramatic. It’s just life. My life.

Okay, I'm now trying to submit my own story and not lean on Sephrena for this one. I've set it all up, complete with a nice graphic and filled out the Submit Fiction page and hit Preview. After a little alteration I have it as I want and hit the Submit button. The form resets and shows blank fields. Apparently, no submittal has occurred.

What am I doing wrong?

A BigCloset Tradition

I've been thinking about all the hard work and time that Erin and Sephrena put in on this site, as well as just what the purpose is of our little BigCloset. I say "our" with deliberation. The people who read and write here may not own this site, but it is a home of sorts for us. It is a place that we may come to express a side of ourselves that many in the greater community do not want to hear about. It is a refuge and a bastion, a source of respite and strength.

Or at least it should be.

Symbols

Philosophers have often noted that the symbols we use shape our thoughts. They hold power over us. But it is a power we freely give to them. Symbols hold no power that we have not first granted. So, my friends, on this spooky Halloween night, remember: accept not the symbols of others.
