A question for anyone interested in answering...

Is it just me, or are some of the most difficult stories to read the ones you wrote yourself? I'm going over a story I'm working on to make sure that I've got everything straight on paper, as it were, and I'm finding it slow going. This isn't because it's long or hard to read or anything like that, but because I know what I intended to write, or what I want to be there and completely miss where I left a word or line of text in from a previous version of a scene, or I don't see where I left a gaping hole in the plot after changing my mind about something.

Of Muses and Mallets...

Well, my muse has spent the last few weeks beating me over the head with a mallet in her attempts to get this story out. I've even enlisted the aid of our own Maggie Finnson in this endevor, both as a partial editor/proofreader and as a co-writer for the story itself.

On vacation in Sarasota/Siesta Key Florida area

It is currently day 3 of my Florida vacation with my parents and my cousin, and a vacation means that I actually have the time to get back on the site again! Woo! But that time shall pass by briefly, as once I get back to Ohio I need to get back on my work/school thing.

Even with the tail end (at least, I *hope* it's the tail end) of a sudden squall is passing overhead as I'm typing this, it's been fun thus far and I'm looking forward to the sunset sailboat cruse that's lined up for tomorrow, pending the weather.

Sadly...

Life is going to be getting very busy for me here soon, and staying busy for quite some time to come, so I need all the time I can get prepare myself for it. Time that otherwise would have been spent penning out stories. This is to say that I'm leaving BC/TS and that I don't know when, or even *if* I'll be coming back. Should that day come, I'll see you all then. If not, then it's been a fun ride and I thank you all for tolerating me here.

Toodles.

Elsbeth and her insperation for Pixies...

It appears that she just *might* communicate with actual pixies for her stories about them. Before anyone goes thinking I'm talking out of the wrong end of my body here, I do have something that almost looks kind of like proof. And that, friends, would be located here.

The moral of the story, as the one person's daughter found out:

If you find a tree with a tiny door in the base of it, leave some candy out for the occupants. ^^

Looking for a story...

I can't recall the name of the story or the author, but it's about a young man who was in a motorcycle accident in the "present day" and slipped into a comma. His parents placed him into some kind of cryogenic storage thing and the doctors pulled the brain and transplanted it into the body of a young woman a couple thousand years after that accident. Any ideas on which story this is?

The more things change...

Just clicked the Four-Years-Ago link at the top of the site and found myself a bit... stranged up is as good a phrase as any I can think up at the moment, I guess, by the fact that just a little bit ag, Ang posted the latest Bike and there on the four years ago page is Bike #463, third posting down from the top. For some reason, that kind of struck me a bit. I know I wasn't around here four years ago, but still... The more things change, right?

In response to a recent post by Angharad...

I read the blog Angharad posted about the doping issue in modern cycling and it is a sad truth to face. However, I did happen upon an article about an elderly cyclist that is putting quite a few of the "current crop" of professional cyclists to shame. The gentleman in question is 100 years old and recently set a 14.4 mile an hour pace over the stretch of 100km (62 or so miles). Admittedly, I don't know much about cycling, but I do know being able to set, and keep, a pace like that isn't anything to sneeze at. Never-mind the fact that he did it at his age.

A public service announcement from Loki and Dustin...

Just to keep all who are interested informed, Dustin and I are still working on A Tale of Two Sirens. He and I both had real life get in the way for about a week and after it was all taken care of, we decided to avoid being in this situation again by not posting any more chapters of the story until all is said and done on the writing side of it.

So fear not, the story is very much alive and well. Things are acutally looking to get very interesting in the near future for Ashley and Danielle, so please stay tuned. ^_^

A Tale of Two Sirens

By Dustin Carter and Loki

Olivia-Munn as the real Danielle.jpg ww.png
“Are we ever going to be able to keep you out?” Carly asked, somewhat rhetorically, after she had calmed down from her near heart attack.

“Nope” I said with absolutely no hesitation and flashed them my most winningest smile.

Last Call

A little something I felt compelled to whip up in rememberence to the Fallen Heros.
Be forewarned, this is raw and unedited. Please forgive me any mistakes I've made with my grammer and sentance structure/spelling.

As any author would hope for their audience, Have a good read. ^_^

A Tale of Two Sirens

By Dustin Carter and Loki

“Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Anyway, I heard a juicy rumor floating around the campus earlier. Apparently there’s some chick at one of the Karaoke joints around here that’s really good. Like competition for us kind of good.”

“Oh really now?” I asked with a raised eyebrow. “This I’ve got to see for myself. What’s her major?”

“No. She’s in the local high school with that Cindy chick you were helping a while ago.”

“This just gets better and better.”

R.I.P. Tori

I found out just last night that my cousin, Tori Nikol Swoape, took her own life on Monday, May 7th 2012. She was only 15 years old. I know I haven't posted anything in a while. While I am working on new material, this turn of events has derailed all of that. Please bear with me while my family and I mourn our loss.

Looking for a little help...

My research paper for my English class has me making a 1800 word paper arguing for something, and I've chosen to write about Gender Dysphoria. I say this because I seem to recall there being a blog on here with a link to an article about GD and I'd like to include that article and their sources, but I can't find it anymore.

Does anyone remember who's blog it was?

My so called (Un)LIfe Chapter 5: How to make a Monster

Olivia-Munn as the real Danielle.jpg

“Now, please tell me what just happened.” I asked her. I was not happy that she made that decision for me. I may be new to being a vampire and a woman, but I wasn’t exactly a toddler either.

“Well... He was a hottie and if I’ve got you pegged right, you were kind of digging him.” Damn. Did she read my mind or something? “That’s okay, but you need to be careful. You don’t want to know what happens if we get attached to our food source.”

For those of you who are following My so-called (Un)Life...

I'm going to be taking a small break from writing her story after this last chapter to start working on another project for the Dark Realms Universe. Chapter 5 in (Un)Life is almost finished and I should have that posted in the next day or two. I say all of this because it will be a while before I actually post anything for this new project of mine, as I'd like to try and finish the story, or get close to finishing at least, before I actually post any of it. (Un)Life has alot of story left in it, and I will be getting back to it once the new one is out of the way.

The Party of the Century

*Her story*

“All this food and nothing that looks good...” I muttered under my breath. What I really needed was to go to sleep. I had been up for much too long as it was already, but I had that report to finish for my class later in the morning. “Operation: Fix the Munchies is a failure, Huston. Over and out.”

My so called (Un)Life Chapter 4: The Past through another Door

Olivia-Munn as the real Danielle.jpg

When last we saw Dani:

“You okay there, Dani?” Darcy asked, bring me back out of my thoughts.

“Wha... Yeah. I’m fine. Just thinking about things is all.” I told her. Which was the truth, even if I didn’t tell her what I was thinking and worrying about.

“Oh, okay.” She said. “I’m just trying to make sure that you’re okay. I’d be more than happy to listen if you need someone to talk to, you know.”

And whaddya know, I actually felt somewhat better about that. I didn’t know if I could trust her or not, but the fact that I didn’t really have any friends since my move here to Ravencrest and Jimmy’s death. It might actually be nice to have a friend and not feel so lonely anymore.

My so called (Un)Life Chapter 3: A Tricky Situation

Olivia-Munn as the real Danielle.jpg

“Who’s this Danielle chick you keep talking to?” I ask in a voice that I’ve yet to realize isn’t the one I was born with.

“Why, you are, of course. Who else would we be talking to, love?” Carmilla answers. I stop sucking on the third pouch of blood about half way through it and can only stare wide eyed at the two of them while holding the pouch in my hands like a precious toy that’s been broken. I look back down to my chest again, and sure enough, I wasn’t hallucinating a moment ago. I do indeed have boobs hanging from my chest. I reach up and grab one, causing me to blink a few times and twitch involuntarily.

This time, when I tried, I actually did manage to scream. And both Carmilla and Josephine swear up and down that they saw the blood in my pouch curdle a little bit when I did. Like I’ve said before, I’m not exactly very quick on the up take when I’m first waking up.

My so called (Un)Life Ch. 2: Welcome to the Other Side

Olivia-Munn as the real Danielle.jpg

I’m sure I was blushing profusely by now from the embarrassment. And why was I talking to her like she was my boss or something? I didn’t even know her.

“Why don’t I walk him back there instead. I’d like to ah…” She paused and looked me over once more. “Talk, with him in a more quiet setting. Would you like that, dear heart?”

“Yes, please.” I don’t know why I said that. I guess it just felt right at the time. I grabbed my guitar and followed her around the bar towards a door, watching the gentle sway of her hips as she walked. I’ve never felt more like a puppy on a leash, to be honest, but she seemed so pleased with it that it was just too hard for me to be angry about it.

My small contribution

I read Dorothy Colleen's entry called "A Tapestry of Stars" earlier today and I felt compelled to share something with you all. Before I do, I need to explain something. Every star on the tapestry mentioned in that story represent all of the TG men and women who have been murdered for being who they really are in the area the story takes place in.

My So Called (Un)Life Chapter One: Prelude to a Change

Calling all editors!!!

I need help editing a story. Any responders must be familiar with at least the first half of the Dot Hack universe (be it the video games, novels, comics, or anime. I don't mind which). Let me know if you are interested and I will send you a copy of the story's prolog.

Please keep in mind that it is a work in progress. That means that I have not completed the outline yet, nor do I have any idea how long this story is going to be as of yet. Send me a pm or email me at:

Thanks and have a good read!

A simple pre-writing poll...

I wanted to try and guage the potential reaction before I actually write and post it here when complete. I was thinking back on some of the stories I have read through the years and there is one that sticks out with me. It's called "King of Bandits: Jing" by Yuichi Kumakura. it is somewhat old-ish, with the first printings on the first series being sone in the late 1990's and early 2000's, with twilight Tales (the second of two series) being completed by the mid-2000's.

Scary stuff, man, scary effin stuff...

A quick summary of recent history, so those of you that don't think like I do can understand my slight cause for concern.

First, there was the unrest in Egypt that brought down the ruling party there. i think it safe to assume that most of us are at least passingly familiar with what all went down there. Then, like a contagioun, the unrest spread through out the Middle East. Some places there was no voilence. Others... Well, look to the current situation in Lybia as an example. not there is this:

As much as I like to watch lightning storms, which is quite alot I assure you, the ones that have been showing up in my part of the world have been quite depressing as of late. It sucks like that. And the power is about to go out. So, here's hoping nothing too bad comes of this and the power isn't out for too long. There's a bit too much rain blocking the view of the sky, so I can't get a good view of Mother Nature's own light show.

I find that rther annoying... >_>

On writing

I am very new to writing, so I don't know very much about it. All I do konw, is that one comes up with an idea and tries to convey that idea in words and discriptions. My writing process is usually typing/writing down what comes to my head as it comes to my head. I have not used an outline before (in writing) and I'm not too sure how it helps. Im wanting to increase my writing ability and skills, but I'm kind of stuck. If any of you out there in Interweb Land would like to share how you write, it would probably help alot.

Happy birthday to me! I live in a tree...

So, yeah. I'm 24 as of the 23rd. Still trying, after two weeks, to find the one part that I need to fix the mechanical damage to my car after some one hit it (Just how do you hit a parked car anyway?) and took off. No license plates on the vehical and my car isn't drivble until I get the replacement part, which I'm starting to suspect I can only buy at a dealership or something. Insurance will not cover it, as I have liability only and a S.R. 22 bond / High-risk insurance. beh, what a freacking birthday.... ugh...
