Prologue
Our one man show this day is a continuation of My Ken Doll. But where as My Ken Doll is recounted by Laura this part is recounted by her younger brother, Mike. Our presentation opens with Mike giving a brief account of his unusual deal with his sister that climaxed on a faithful Halloween night. Mike then recalls how that night gave his life a new passion that would dictate his education choices, as well as his ensuing career and subsequent lifestyle. For those who wish to follow Mike's adventures, sit back and get comfortable, for the house lights are dimming and the curtain is rising.
It reads just like an autobiography. Is it fiction, or was it Real Life™? All I know is, it is my story—the one I would write for myself, if only I could. Since I never had even the ghost of a prayer of creating such a life for real, it has to remain my wish fulfillment story. More than any other story I have ever heard or seen, so far, that is what it is. My wish-fulfillment story. All I can do is read it…and weep…
This is a story that begins with a journey in the mind down a path to a point of divergence where the reader will be free to choose down which path he or she wishes to continue. But there is more to it,for there is a second theme at work in this story. This second theme has its roots in ancient cultures where it is believed that a divine force/deity will led/guide a person into the future, one set by the direction a person has chosen or has been influenced to go in. In this group of stories, a version of this belief manifest it's self in the form of a female antagonist called Lynn. This force/deity appears in all five continuations but in a form and capacity it deems best suited in which to entice the traveler down to what waits at the end of the path selected.
Introduction
This is one of five possible continuations of the story Path to the Crossroads. It is necessary to have traveled in the mind on the path to the crossroads before choosing in which direction to continue. May the reader find adventure, pleasure, and maybe even peace of mind, down the path he or she has chosen to travel.
This story is a sequence of four interrelated recollections by a man in the late summer of life,
recalling the events of some unusual summers, and the members of the female persuasion who made
them so unusual and worth remembering.
