i•den•ti•ty
/īˈdentitē/
1. Noun: The fact of being who or what a person or thing is

Hmm, that seems fairly straight forward. Let’s see, I am first an individual, a human being. In some respects no different than you or anyone else and yet in so many other ways, I couldn’t be more different. So is that any clearer? No? Yeah, I’m still confused too.

Giving support as I can

For those who don't know, I have two wonderful 10 year old girls. Yup, they're twins.

Anyway, the two of them went to a friends birthday party tonight and as 10 year olds do, they had a blast.

When I went to pick them up, everyone but my girls had already left. As usual they weren't ready, they and their friend and her brother were too wrapped up in playing. They were playing dress up. They all were dressed as their favorite Disney princess, even the brother. He was made up as Snow White. It was all very charming and I just couldn't help but smile.

Missouri Author Wins Award For Transgender Teen Fiction

Looks like a TG day in the news today.

”‹Brian Katcher's 2009 novel, Almost Perfect, has been grabbing attention and awards -- it just snagged the 2011 Stonewall Children's and Young Adult Literature Award.

This story sounds so much like so many we can find right here. It's nice to see a story about a TG teen get an award.

Hugs,

Connie

Happy New Year

To all my dear friends here. Happy New Year.

Here's a lovely song that I absolutely fell in love with and I hope you enjoy as well.

The song is "Nella Fantasia" ("In My Fantasy") and is sung by Katherine Jenkins.

Much Love and all my best wishes to everyone here for the New Year.

Connie

Translation Below:

Italian:

Nella fantasia io vedo un mondo giusto,
Lᬠtutti vivono in pace e in onestá .
Io sogno d'anime che sono sempre libere,
Come le nuvole che volano,

Thank you

Last night several things all came together. I was looking over the first couple of parts of my story 'Catwalk Confidence'. The first thing I noticed while looking it over was boy do I need to go back and clean this up a bit. The second thing I noticed was that within the storyline, it has been almost a year since young Alex started writing in his, excuse me, her journal.

Transgender writer Jennifer Finney Boylan comes home to Philadelphia

What an amazing woman she is. I haven't heard of her before, but I think I'd like to check out her books.

Has anyone heard of her or read her books?

Some of the comments are from your typical knuckle dragger's but some are rather nice.

Open Door starts Humboldt's first transgender health clinic

I saw this the other day but have only now had a chance to post this. One could hope to see more clinics like this, or at the very least more health care people a bit more sympathetic.

Transgender people learn at US school to speak as the person they are…

Here's an interesting article I ran across about voice classes.

Article

I also find it interesting that this is reported in The Canadian Press and not in any US press.

Connie
