A Second Chance

...I knew what had happened. As one of the cops approached me and started to speak to me, I heard not a single word. I merely saw his mouth move as tears began to fall from my eyes.
I remember little else from that evening other than finding myself in my old room, now occupied by Corie, and Kate alongside me in the bed. Owen and Meg were gone. We would never be able to speak, or touch, or laugh, or cry with them again. My life, and Kate’s, as we knew it, had come to a most bitter end.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter for participating. In every sense of the word, everyone who entered this contest is a winner!!! I wish I had the funding to pay everyone who took the time and entered, but... I simply don't have those kind of resources. I would also like to thank the people who took the time to vote and who read the stories. That is what BigCloset TopShelf is all about! Writing, Reading, Commenting, and Participating.

I didn't even realize it was voting time, and had almost forgotten the contest. But, I think I would have been forced to vote for Passion also. anyway.

Congrats To All The Talented Winners
Submitted by Jengrl on Mon, 2010/07/26 - 9:43pm.
Congratulations to all the talented winners. Lillith, Kelly and Andrea, you were wonderful as usual! I kind of figured that my story didn't have too much of a chance this time. It only got three comments in the last chapter. Hopefully, my muse will wake up and start letting me come up with something. Ever since Goldie died, I have been without a real editor. I will probably stand on the sidelines and observe for a while until I can hone my skills to do better. I didn't get much criticism for "That Summer I Found Her" other than calling for a sequel so I guess that's good. I know I might sound paranoid, but I get the impression that people didn't say much about it to spare my feelings because they didn't like it. I only want to get better as a writer, so if you didn't like something just let me know where I can improve. Constructive criticism helps me improve. I remember when Goldie would go through and do a wholesale edit and tell me what I did wrong. She never sugarcoat it either LOL! I sure do miss her!

Jen, I apologize to you. I failed to notice this was included in the contest so I just saved it to be read at leisure., instead of moving it up the priority list. What parts I did see, I liked. Now I feel bad for not reading it quicker.

Um... wow. Thank you to everyone that voted and took the time to read this monstrosity. Not to forget those that took the time to comment as well. That means just as much to me. Now I'm off... back to the keyboard for another three stories that I'm working on at once here.

I would like to congratulate Lillith

for what Sephrena rightly calls another superb tale of romance. And to Kelly, my little brat, for her tender and oh so personal tale of her Second Chance.
I'd like to thank those folks who voted for both my stories, and I'd like to thank and congratulate all the authors who wrote such wonderful and romantics stories. Thanks to Erin for providing us with the best site on the net and finally, thank you Sephrena for being so generous and gracious to us as well!
She was born for all the wrong reasons but grew up for all the right ones.
Con grande amore e di affetto, Andrea Lena

[email protected] ... My sentiments exactly! I must admit though that my vote probably cost you a second place finish. I just had to vote for Kelly's story. It offered so much hope for those of us who are still looking for our own 'Second Chance' that I simply couldn't resist.
Love and Hugs,

when I saw the neat colors of the titles etc in her posts, I figured they were links. oops. They are included in the summer romance field under shortcuts, if that helps.

I didn't have time to read all of the stories in time so I didn't vote. Sorry!
I'm still going through the stories though, and so far, I would've voted for Passion and Purpose. Lilith is an excellent author and she's very generous to post so many high-quality stories here... for free!
Thanks, Lilith! And thanks to all of the other authors. I've enjoyed a great number of the other stories too. And they're all free! Yay!
Grateful hugs

A lot of wonderful stories were submitted for this contest. Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you everyone for providing such wonderful tales, as well as a place for those tales to be found. :)
