Okay, this is a last minute spring. For the 25th anniversary contest, you have until Friday, November 22, 2024 at 3pm Pacific Standard Time to turn in a fictional story entry showing your beliefs in a story of what BigCloset TopShelf means to you personally. Has it saved your life? How so? And showcase those beliefs into a beautifully written story for us. Story length has to be of at least 5,000 words. The single prize is $75. That's it!

If I can get any entries for it, I will judge the best of them and declare the winner Friday evening. Please don't forget to label your entries with the tag BCTS 25th Anniversary Mini Contest.

I hope this little mini contest works! Fingers crossed.

20 years?

Has BC only been around for 20 years. Certainly seems to me that it has been longer than that. I've been here for 18 years and 7 months, and it seems to me that BC had been around much longer when I joined.

20 years from 2004

In my blog I know that i have tried...

Topshelf (the Drupal version of BigCloset) had a twentieth anniversary on June 15th. :) Previous messages did not make this clear.

The first version of BigCloset (atEros) was hand-coded, then run with macros, and then with a CMS called PostNuke. Sometime in 2004 I converted to Drupal 4.7 (PostNuke forked itself to death) and got the bigclosetr.us domain and an early record shows this was operational on June 15th. Bob Arnold started StarDust about that time, too. Bob helped me with the 99shoes version of BigCloset (Drupal 5) and still later, the Armoire version (Drupal6). Then Bob died and Piper stepped up and helped me with the current Boudoir version (Drupal7).

is what Erin said last night :)

NOT!

It's BigCloset's 25th anniversary. Topshelf's 20th is just when I changed the software and started using Drupal, and that was in June.

Hugs,

OK, you inspired me

OK, you inspired me to write something. I spent last night looking through my unpublished stories and deciding I had nothing appropriate. Sure, one of my published stories could have worked. If you've read all my stuff, you know which story could have ended with the main character writing stories on BigCloset, by just changing a sentence or two. If you haven't, I'm just going to make you read them all. :-)

But I have a story I'm writing for this prompt. It's not finished yet, but if at all possible I'm going to post it before the deadline.

BCTS 25th Anniversary Celebration Story Contest Results!

Well, considering we had 3 entries, I read each of their efforts and decided to award all 3 a $75 prize for such great stories!

I looked back into the tag after posting my story and found the other two entries posted shortly before mine, and read them later in the day. It was interesting seeing three very different takes on how to respond to this contest. Of course, BigCloset does mean different things to each one of us, so it shouldn't be surprising. But I was wondering how you were going to decide between such different stories. And you didn't! Thanks.
