On Monday December 9th of this year, I was asked by my daughter Karen’s history teacher to address his class on my experience with the Immigration/Naturalization process. Normally I turn down such requests because for the last 40 years I have seen myself as an American. This year though is different for a few reasons, and I agreed. The biggest reason is this year marks the 40th anniversary the beginning of not only my journey to becoming the woman I am today but my path of becoming an American citizen. When my daughter Karen heard my story during her class she informed me that I should share my story here at BC.

First, he shrank. Not dramatically so – this wasn’t like Honey I Shrunk the Kids or Alice in Wonderland or anything. He was very far from Dwarf height, either. Life has some certainties, birth and death of course, but the rest is a mix of Minestrone and Spaghetti, some of which we have no direct influence over. We can however decide whether we want Parmesan or other seasoning, we can give Gnochi a try, doesn't mean we'll like it but at least we'll know. Gaby has reached just such a point in her life, she knows she likes Pizza, she's not averse to Spaghetti or Lasagne but is Gnochi for her? The Gnochi in this case is doing the singing with BlauHase on a more serious level, as a 'hobby' its fine but could this be a change of career? Well you don't find out without trying so that's just what our heroine is about to find out in this, the 27th book of the Gaby saga.
