Stuck in the Middle


In this chapter, Emily navigates an ordinary school day, finding comfort in familiar routines and friendships. However, a cruel encounter in the hallway threatens to unravel her sense of belonging, leaving her shaken and struggling to hold onto her confidence. As she carries the weight of the words spoken against her, she retreats inward, unsure of how to share the hurt with those who care about her. But in the quiet moments alone, armed with her journal and her own thoughts, she begins to reclaim her strength—reminding herself that she is more than the labels others try to force upon her.

During a game of “Truth or Dare”, my friends dared me to dress up in my girlfriend’s clothes and ride her dildo. Now, you would think that this would be a little too extreme, but not for our friend group. Every game we played had something that most people would never do, especially with their friends. Anyways, since I wasn’t a coward, I accepted the dare.

Listening to Elgar's piece this morning, I thought it sounded very lyrical. Unable to find any sung versions other than this cute K-pop version, I hit upon the idea of writing a TG-themed set of lyrics to the tune. The first lyric came pretty quickly - I apologise for the second - there aren't many words that rhyme with "am"! Verse 2 was written during a quiet helpdesk session this afternoon, and the bridge this evening.

I've tried to keep as close to the tune as possible, although it does get a little tenuous at times (the tune's bridge deviates from uniformity towards the end, as does the final verse). Anyway, enough waffling, on with the lyrics...

“Kazmina,” she said, gently shaking the wizard, “you've got to change me back now... Or tell me what's going on.”

Kazmina wasn't fully awake. “What's wrong?” she mumbled, propping up on her left arm.

“This doesn't feel wrong, that's what's wrong! I'm forgetting what I'm supposed to be, just like when we were geese. By the time we go to see Psavian, I'm afraid I'll have forgotten why I came back to find Tsavila!”
