Things return to normal for Taylor, well as normal as can be for her. The family returns to Florida and start the next chapter in the lives of the southern branch of the Turner family. Taylor starts the next phase of her job and meets the GCW women head-on as she takes control while giving the ladies what they wanted but were denied for years.

After the cat problem was resolved, life settled down to what Fiddler's Vale considered to be normal. For Jarg, that meant he either worked on the forges with Vansel supervising him, on the big saws with Vansel's brother Argen watching as he cut trees into logs and then split the logs into usable pieces with a large axe, or hauling food or other items to folks that lived in the area around the town for various reasons.

The days passed by with slow and steady regularity, then like an ill wind blasting through, everything changed in a few brief moments.

CHAPTER 43
“You can go in now, Detective Constable”

I checked myself for any unfastened buttons, pieces of lint, anything that might distract them or make me look even worse than I felt, then turned back to the clerical officer.

“Thanks. Wish me luck”

“You’ll be fine. They’re not as bad as people think”

Author's note: Things gets more weird. It's going to take a few more chapters before the big reveal.

After a short bike ride I arrived at an empty lot in between two houses. The GPS said that this is the right spot mentioned in the letter. I entered the empty lot overgrown with weeds and got to the exact indicated spot. There were no barriers or fences here. There was nothing much to protect anyway.

The well was large as far as wells went. Almost a yard across with a foot high rim. There wasn't even a road nearby just miles of forest in all directions. Yet the well had been there as long as anybody could remember. A solid structure of dressed grey stone, fitted together so precisely that the mortar was not visible between the interlocked courses. The problem, however was not the wells construction but the sudden lack of water.
