Heard more of the family are ill

I have heard through various sources that other writers, as well as others that are part of the Big Closet family are having a rough go of things lately. Some are having physical issues and some are mental issues and are hurting. To those people I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Let you find the strength and love to overcome these challenges that are facing you all while knowing that the BC family is with you.
HUGS!

My thoughts on Man Of Steel!

I came back from the cinema last night feeling like an utter child after seeing Man Of Steel. It was an enjoyable summer blockbuster and I liked the new direction and tone they took with the new Superman. To me, it felt like two movies in one. The first movie being an OTT sci-fi epic and the second being a story about a tortured boy trying to find relevance in this world. I preferred and enjoyed the latter more so than the headache inducing finale.

Why I am killing myself

I am killing myself. I didn't mistype that and I don't think I'm being melodramatic. I am slowly and certainly killing myself and the truth is, I'm not that far away from succeeding. I think I decided sometime that I really have nothing left to live for so why even bother going on. Thing is, life has changed for me, and this time for the better, but my mind and body hasn't gotten the message.

Am I being too optimistic?

Am I being too optimistic in checking on Crystal's Story Site each day? I've taken her at her word that she's restructuring the entire database and will one day finish. However, it's been since March of 2009 since there's been any news. Does anyone know... Is Crystal still working on it, or has it been just too much to accomplish and maybe I should give up looking at the "What's New" page for an update?

Final words on BB: Heroes

This story has been an emotional roller-coaster for me, and mostly toward the depression side. I've gotten lots of comments, both good and bad, in the feedback and in my blog. That's the relatively benign stuff. What y'all don't see is the PMs and private e-mails that I've gotten, some of which are extremely hateful and/or spiteful.

SEE Universe

Well, it seems I now have a Universe tag, assuming anyone else is daft enough to want to write a story set on Anmar.

I have written up some universe rules but I would rather not make them public just yet, as there could be (of necessity) spoiler material inside. If anyone wants to have a go at a story, then PM me and we'll have a conversation.

I Had An Interesting Dream Last Night

I had an interesting dream last night. I dreamed I was staying over at my friend, Tracy's house and trying on clothes. I was wearing a pretty pink dress and looking at myself. I was a teenage girl! I looked just like I would have if I had been born genetically female. It felt like an alternate universe type of thing, but it was so nice! In the dream, I also had a conversation with her mother and she was treating me as I was another daughter and it felt wonderful!

Apparently, I f'd up in Bikini Beach: Heroes

In BB: Heroes, I obviously screwed up conveying the message I intended. Comments, both here and on another site, are either love/hate, and the comments I've received privately indicate an extremely strong dislike for the story.

surprise question at the doctor's office

I just got home from going to the doctors, and I have to share what happened. I've been fighting a cold the last couple of days, and even stayed home from work last night, so my mom insisted on me seeing the doc. So I go, and once I'm there this nice female doctor starts doing her thing, and after checking my breathing, and doing the "ahh" thing, she asks me some questions. The last question she asked me threw me though.

She asked "And how are your periods?"

Exhausted and hurting

Well, I've just spent the last 6 days working hard to move. But we got it all done and just got home about 30 min. ago. I'm exhausted and started getting dehydrated, so we stopped and got some drink on the way home. I ache all over from my neck all the way to the bottom of my feet (my feet normally hurt due to my disability). My daughter was a big help and she's been sick since yesterday. But thank God, we are now done.

Tomorrow will be a day of rest and starting to recover. :)

I hope you all are doing well. :)

Hugs,
Mark <3

Tanya Allan is now publishing direct to KOBO

In answer to all those who have asked me to publish in any other format other than Kindle. I have now taken steps to publish in ePub format direct onto KOBO. Incidentally, the system is as easy as the Amazon Kindle publishing site, so I will try to get all my books onto KOBO soon.

"Misfile"

I have been reading a web comic called "misfile" and its amazing. Its the story of a boy whose life gets misfiled into the girl drawer by a slacker angel, and how he/she deals with the results. If you read it, be prepared to want to sit and finish it in one setting like I wanted to ....

Six years 52 weeks

That's what it says on my author page. Has it been that long? I suppose it has given the number of stories posted although my rate has decreased. I've had personal issues that has arisen. That's why I have to apologize for not responding to comments as well as I used too. Believe me I cherish each one, but just trying to keep writing is taking all of my energies.

So just so it is said a very big thank you to everyone who comment on "Who do that Hoodoo," "Rising of the Queen," and "Waking the Dreamer."

What Happened to the Taylor Project?

So, what happened to the Taylor Project? It's probably been noticed that I haven't posted an update in months. Part of it was getting slammed at work. More of it was just me falling into a funk. What seems to kill my writing every time is I reach a place where every word I type seems lame and not worth reading. I'm trying to move forward again. It's not going easy, but I mean to push through and write an ending, even if it is a little lame. That's my great failure of a write, not finishing a work. This time I plan to finish.

I have a question

What I would like to know is how you would like my next story posted? As usual It will be long so I'd like to know if you would like it done in chunks like Twins, around twenty thousand words per posting, or by the chapter once a day. I've had complaints either way, the post was too long, or I'd like to see a chapter every day but short. I'll leave it up to you because I haven't broken the story into chapters yet and will do that during the first edit. I won't start posting for some time because the story is just getting started and it's over thirteen thousand words long already.

The predictions of my demise were greatly exaggerated by me.

Irrational fears. We listen to them all the time, they are fears we cant get past. Fears that keep us back afraid, fears that have the power to paralyze us from acting. These fears kept me in hiding for thirty-three years. I was so afraid that my world would come crumbling down I hid, terrified of loss.

Transactive.org

So, I had a meeting this morning with the Diversity folk up at OHSU that seemed relatively fruitful, though along the way, I started to feel somewhat like the FtM folk are doing all the talking, and the MtF folk are strangely silent.

Then she suggested that I get in touch with a group called Transactive.org, she, thinking that I would make a great volunteer there. On their web site, they spend a lot of time talking about "binders", but no time talking about male GRS.

I almost feel like they have literally taken over. I wonder why more MtFs are not being heard from?

I hereby open the floor to suggestions. Winner gets - (drum roll please) - credit in the story. Sorry, but my bank account won't go for cash prizes.

Good news~

Soooo, In an addition to my last blog, good news actually happened. My Therapist sent me an email awhile back that she forwarded from a couple of Transwomen in my area trying to set up a transwomen support group for ages 17-35. I thought I'd give it a try, extend an olive branch so to speak to help get their group off the ground and once again get a support group after Smyrc dropped me for being too old. After a few tries of getting to the group and failing, They invited me to hang out with them. Extending the olive branch back to me. I will admit, I was a bit nervous.

Well, I have to apologize to my 3 fans. Between the fact that the stories I have underway have stopped flowing, (and were looking to be much bigger projects than I originally planned in any case), and the fact I have really struggled to write anything the last couple of days, its gonna be a while before you see any new stories from me.

Again, my apologies.

The Wishing Blanket and other news

Last week wasn't a banner week for writing. It isn't that I didn't get anything done, just very little. The issue was that I had something crop up everyday that ate into my time. On Monday I had counseling and dealt with car issues. Tuesday I was able to get some writing in but also built a bed frame. Wed I had my group meeting. Thursday I was able to write. Friday I had electrolysis and van issues. So the week yielded little but I got a lot done when it came to counseling and fixing cars.

I've got a question for everyone

If in your country (USA here) there ceased to be a rigid split about what is acceptable as boy cloths or girl clothes? How would this new found freedom affect your life? If manufacturers made female clothes but they were cut properly to fit on a male body? The result being anyone can go anywhere dressed as they wished.

would you switch to an all female style wardrobe?
Would it be enough for you with or without hormones?
Would surgery still be an imperative to finish making mind and body match?

I need reader feed back

Hi everyone, I'd like some reader feedback. I didn't want to do it but I started another new story. Here's the premiss, a young boy has freakishly long eye lashes and becomes a spokes person for a cosmetics firm. I know where the story is going but I wonder what you readers would like for an ending? Should the boy transition or remain a boy? I'm having a hard time, well not that hard, trying to decide which way to go, boy or girl, actually man or woman. I've already started writing the story and it won't be hard to make it go either direction, let me know.

My side of the stories I need advice

What happened was that a long time ago someone on this site told me they had xbox live as well so I invited them to play with me and my friends. Things were normal for a while, one of my best friends has 2 friends he grew up with that don't like me because of my aspergers. Well I invited this person to join me and my friend Justin. Well since Justin's friends mike and Justin didn't like me I understood Justin not inviting me to the group but not the person on this site.

Dialect Survey Results

I found a interesting interactive site while reading the news on the web. Its from NC State University and it's a survey of dialect and usage from around the united states. there are 122 different surveys, about half of them are how words are pronounced and half are what kind of word or expression are used, like Coke, pop, or soda. It is all shown on a map with shads of color matching the degree in which it is used. The maps have a composite view and a individual view.

the suit makes the man?

The other day my mom took me out for lunch, and as we entered the restaurant, I noticed a young man (Mid 20's at a guess) wearing a suit and tie. It suddenly occurred to me that a man in that outfit is .... interesting. He was handsome enough that I'm sure I would have done the double look no matter what he was wearing, but the suit really added something.

I'm just glad that the fact I did the double look doesnt freak me out as much. Still freaks me out, mind, just not as much ....

Ah, well.

An Update on my pussy

A few weeks ago I posted a blog about my pussycat Madeline. I was almost doing it daily and didn't have the heart to keep on disappointing people day after day. For a month it looked like there was nothing left to do but to put her down. The medicine I was given didn't work and all she did was stay on the bed, immobile for hours on end unless I brought her to her food, which she barely touched.

Okay. Big time question.

So... I'm at a store where I shop regularly. Well, maybe I'd better preface this. First of all, my transition has gone so smoothly that I can't believe it. There have been a handful of people I knew "before" who haven't accepted it, but almost everyone has simply adjusted and moved on with their lives with me still in them.

A little while ago (June 5, 10:58pm eastern) I got an e-mail from Laika. From out of the blue, actually.

Her e-mail was a little funny - it didn't have a subject-title, it was also sent to four other people that I didn't know (who is DALENEK1 anyway), and the e-mail's content was just a hotlink to an ad about a raspberry diet supplement.

And a few minutes after that, my iPad started asking me to re-confirm/re-enter the passowords for my other e-mail profiles. Hmmm... that's funny. Anyway, I didn't, and nothing bad happened when I didn't re-enter the passwords... Hmmm...

I cannot therefore help but think that Laika and I were being spoofed.

OOPs, I put some art that has been sitting on my computer for a long time on my Facebook page and it so magnified it that I now see that what I thought was a belt buckle was actually a Copyright mark. My eyesight is not wonderful.

So, I'm trying to find a way to contact FB about it to take it down, so if anyone can help me with that ????

If anyone knows M. C Krauss, please extend my apologies.

Sorry

Words

As a writer, I love words. I love trying to learn where they come from, how they came to mean what they mean, how some words have changed meanings over time, and how some words can have deeper and stronger meanings to a single person.

One word that's like that for me is the word "rape". I always use it to describe what happened to me over "molested", because for me, what happened fits "rape" better. "molested" sounds softer, somehow, only "rape" seems to have the meaning I need when talking about what happened to me.

Porous Memory - Lost Story

Since my main computer died awhile back I've been a bit lost, and my porous memory isn't helping. There was a multi-part story awhile back, by one of our top authors. Set in medieval time, it's about a boy who is so scrawny he can't find anyone to apprentice him except the local dressmaker. He goes to a tournament and the victor in a duel on horseback chooses him, thinking he is a girl. As the story goes on he actually turns into a young woman, and what a little hellcat she is!

practicing my social skills

The last couple of days have given me a chance to practice my social skills, and that's a good thing. First, I went to see the new "Star Trek" movie with one of my co-workers and a friend of hers, and that went fine, and then today I got put in charge of the coffee pot for the little coffee-and-snack thing we do after service, and as we had a group of visitors, that was interesting. It also went very well, and doing well in these kinds of situations is great, especially since that before this, my tendencies would have been to either act like a buffoon, or retreat into a corner.

I was looking on Amazon and noticed a one star review for the transsexual and the cross. At first I thout the religious right had struck and was going to take it as a badge of honor. Instead, the reviewer said that no one from the lgbt community should read it and then accused me of being homophobic and transphobic. I am totally pissed off.

I would appreciate if a few people would come to my defense.
