I wish to add to Catherine Linda Michel's blog regarding the funding of BC/TS

I just sent a check to Janglewood for $100.

I know that it's a piddling sum in the greater scheme of things, but to me, It's a lot. I'm retired on a fixed income and all that.

Then, I realized that I'd just paid 2% of Janglewood's needs for a month.

That means if just 49 other people contributed a similar amount, Janglewood, Erin and everyone we know and love at BC/TS would be paid! Our site would be saved. Our reading pleasure would be ensured.

The world is coming to an end. How can I go on?

Sadly, I report the death of Denise A. Trask on April 1 in Milan, Italy of a cerebral hemorrhage. Denise was seventy seven. At this time, I have no information regarding funeral services.

Denise was a well known author and patron of this site. Denise collaborated with T. D. Aldonetti, author of Air Force Sweetheart, to write the sequel, Duty Calls, which Denise continued after Teddy’s death, under the non de plume of Renae A. Dumas.

Denise also wrote Last of the Fey under the pseudonym Anesidora’s Urn, which she later published under the name D. H. Trask.

With 100 meters left in the race to Omaha Beach, Andre Greipel, the Gorilla, was in the lead, with Peter Sagan second and Marcel Kittel third. Before the race, the TV pundits all declared this was Kittel's race to lose.

But then, Kittel fell behind the torrid pace. Mark Cavendish swept around Sagan's right. Cavendish caught the Gorilla, and blew past him. First by a tire ... then a wheel ... then a bike length!

Awesome! The question of who is the fastest man on a bicycle was answered: Mark Cavendish, the Manx Missile!

Denise' stroke required surgery to stop the bleeding in her brain. The doctors say that they sealed it, and that there appears to be no additional damage.

Her brother flew out from the West Coast to be with her. He reports that she's doing moderately well. He says her left side was affected. Her speech is affected, as has her vision. However, she seems to be thinking clearly and shows every sign of a good recovery.

ARGH! I can't take it any longer. The Pain! The PAIN!

No Dormouse in two days! Two days, I tell you. How much can a person stand?

It's just too much!

I think I'll throw myself off an anthill! No, not one of those huge African ones. A plain little American ant this that will withstand my huge - by their standards - feet. It will take them at least three minutes to clear the mess I made. But I will still be without my Daily Dormouse.

Tom Clancy was my inspiration. It started with Red Storm Rising. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this was written by Larry Bond. Tom was the minor co-author. Regardless, I then read Cardinal of the Kremlin and Red October. Then, I followed the Jack Ryan sagas to the bitter end.

I was a techy. I had worked on several defense systems, all of which are now long gone. I’m a military brat and even lived on base for a couple of years. So, I had a background in the field.

Today, David Cameron and Alex Salmon signed a contract to hold a referendum in Scotland to determine if it should remain as part of the United Kingdom, become a separate country, or, perhaps, chose some status incorporating features of both. This referendum is scheduled for 2014, so there will be plenty of time to discuss the pros and cons, coming to a consensus.
