fingerless gloves

Last night when I got to work, I noticed a dispenser beside the gumball machines with the logo "Trendy girl" on it, and since whatever it sold only cost a 2 dollar coin, I figured what the heck.

It was a pair of fishnet style fingerless gloves.

So before work, I decide to put them on, and I had a reaction I dont get very often.

I

Felt

Sexy.

My self-confidence rose, my tiredness lifted, and generally it was an amazing boost, which I really needed after spending dinner at my brother's place and have to listen to my family use male pronouns for me ....

Ah, well.

Be careful, I'm in a really, really bad place tonight. It might be a very good idea not to read this.

I’m trying to write a story, but I’m so ANGRY! I was visiting some relatives, and I heard somebody talking about “those Transgender freaks, and how anyone who would let their child think he is transgender should have their ass kicked.”

My own family.

WTF? Where is Bike 1801

I know bikes get stolen regularly, but surely this hasn't happened to my latest episode has it? I posted it last night and when I went to bed it was still there - this morning - gone.

Anyone who knows of its whereabouts please let me know.

Anyone looking to BE a roommate?

I have a short window of opportunity to purchase a Mobile Home from a friend at a low monthly rate direct from him.

It's in North Vernon, IN about 65 miles South of Indianapolis and I can't afford the Mortgage + Utilities and Food on my own. I'd bee looking for someone that could contribute between $300 and $400 per month which would include rent, electric, water + sewer and internet.

"You're very feminine"

That was the verdict of a co-worker, adding that trying to go back to being male would be "living a lie" for me.

So why is that a big deal? The co-worker in question is a high-functioning autistic person and pretty much incapable of lying, so that's her true opinion, not because she wants to make me feel good or anything.

Nice to get that kind of recognition, you know?

I finally have a date for Surgery

I've been living with a lot of pain for the last two years. The rotator cuff in my left shoulder is pretty torn up. I've been able to function, barely. Yesterday I received word surgery to repair it has been approved. Yeah!

September 24 I go under the knife.

This is critical for me. I have at least two surgeries too get through before I can even contemplate SRS. I'm happy this is finally under way! December I should be able to have surgery on my right ankle. That means I'll be on track for SRS sometime late next year!!

Please, keep me in prayer.

For those of you that don't know, Bill has been in the hospital for 7 days now... I won't go into what got us there, but he has a UTI, a pretty bad one, and he should be going from hospital to Nursing Home, and from there to another Long Term Nursing Facility...

I don't get out of the house much... In the last several months, I've only been able to go about 2.5 blocks from the house, due to the fact that I'm Bill's 24/7 caregiver when Bill is at home, and we don't have a working car.

Had a bit of a tough moment today, where all the stress of my mom's job, our potentially losing this place, and a realization that I might just possibly be attracted to men all hit me at the same time.

Fortunately, Tels was there to talk to me on the phone, and she recommended I get up off the couch where I had been huddling, stand up, and walk with one foot right in front of the other, tightrope style.

It helped.

Hey all Jenn here. Well I have been away for awhile, most of the time I access the BCTS site through a smart mobile device. It has more privacy than a computer and I can control who has access to my data. Smart phones have come a long way and other than a 4.3 inch screen I can do most of my mobile computing on one but they do go wonky occasionally. This is what happened to my last device so for awhile now I have been only able to read stories and post short comments with an older device I had until my new one came in. I am now back on the air and will be posting and messaging again whoop!

A strange breakfast

I just got back from going out for breakfast with my mom, and it was a strange experience. Our server was not only a cheerful and talkative young lady, she seemed to want to touch me as often as she could - rubbing my back, my arm, and once actually sitting in the booth beside me.

I have no idea why.

Otherwise, it was an okay day, I got my blood work done, so that's one more step taken care of.

Each step, even a baby one, is a good one, I think.

Being a gift from God

During my last down period, several Christian friends remind me of the meaning of the name Dorothy - A gift from God. During dark times, its hard to see myself in that light, but every once in a while I get a little bit of a reminder that yes, I'm a gift, a special creation, loved and cherished in ways beyond my meagre understanding.

I dont know if I will ever know all the answers to the "why am I like this?' question, but I can trust that there is a reason, a purpose for me being the person I am, and that said purpose is a good one.

So, there will be an update of that story as well in the near future, as things go along. By and large I am feeling alright, with nothing seriously impacting my typing ability. Sure, I can't walk much but that is in favor of the whole writing thing. :)

Once I am done with the writing and editing I will get those stories out to you, as well as the updates on Transitioning Home. It should be fun and plenty of reading for all of you.

Beta Readers (or editor)?

I recently posted a story I had written a couple of years ago. I've been writing part two (probably of three) and am wondering if there are a couple of people who might be willing to give what I've written a read and offer suggestions/comments. I'm not completely done, but I imagine it will be done tonight or tomorrow (part two, that is).

It's current'y about 6300 words, and needs a few more pages to finish up, if that matters.

Anyway, I thought I would put the word out now so that I'll have the addresses once I'm ready to get some feedback, in case there is interest.

Thanks!

Every once in a while quotation marks and apostrophes seem to do this to stories. I was just curious as to why this happens. Sometimes, it gets cured. This is from the latest episode of Bike.

The latest chapter of Transitioning Home is intense, especially the end. It is shocking and a slap in the face and hurts. And is the kind of fucked up situation that someone could find themselves in during battle. This story does not deal with only the PTSD aspects of Thomas' life but they are a part of his story. Any vet who has done time in combat can tell you that. Facing intense situations and screwed up situations changes you in profound ways. That is one of the transitions that Thomas has to deal with. He has to get part of his mind out of the desert and back to the states.

I Lucid Dream In Cinema

I am not what you would call a calm sleeper. I tend to toss and turn throughout the night, waking up, and falling back to sleep over and over again. Sometimes I come closer to consciousness than true sleep, and during these times, when I'm almost in control of what I'm thinking, I tend to have my clearest -- and often, strangest -- dreams.

Last night, this happened to me, and the result is something that, while nil on actual TG content, I still felt compelled to share.

I'm a programmer by trade, and I believe my "creative brain" is sometimes completely locked away entirely and my writing reads more like a list of facts. But, some read OK. It's kind of funny, because some times, when I read over something I wrote years earlier, I'm impressed and even wonder if I really could have written it.

Well, this girl does not believe there is such a ribbon in her computer, at least she has never found one. Where would they put such a thing?

A Chinese couple get married

Here in Switzerland, the big provider, state-run, is Swisscom, and their 'Net stuff is run out in the name Bluewin.
My eMail address is indeed a bluewin one.

But their home page publishes small news-item galleries.

This one is of interest to us here.... I will translate the German if you wish, but it doesn't add that much to the story, all of which is shown in the 7 photos.

Pussy Riot

Few can be unaware of the events in Russia where a trio of young women have been arrested and tried for the most specious of charges. They have acknowledged and apologised to those who were offended by their demonstration in the cathedral which upset the primate of the Russian Orthodox church so much, but I suspect not because of what they did but because they dared to do it at all.

Need Some Assistance

I am retired Air Force, a graduate of OTS, and also was an OTS flight commander and instructor for five years; however, I know that the ordeal at the Air Force Academy is something totally different. I've known a number of Academy graduates over the years; however, it's been 24 years since I retired and have lost contact with any of them. I am familiar with drill and ceremonies, taught it, and some of the other things that go on, but any information would be appreciated.

Kit and Kin and more Transitioning

Well, 4 chapters out for Transitioning Home and I think you can all get an idea just how hurt poor Thomas is. It sucks being that screwed up both physically and mentally. You gotta feel for the poor boy. Man am I mean to my characters sometimes and this story just got started. You all got like 32 chapters to go. Heh...

And I finally was out of pain and other stuff long enough to get chapter 5 of Kit and Kin done. I am very happy about this because now the fun stuff can really get started. Poor Takeshi, his whole world shaken and not stirred. :(

A little venting about the job hunt...

So I graduated with my M.S.W. in December. Now going on eight months of the job hunt. I guess I'm in a better position then some. At least where I live there are jobs to apply for. It's just frustrating sometimes. Was in the final running for a job I would have loved. Came down to three of us, but the department manager ended up going with someone who had just a bit more direct service experience then I do. Now I'm back at square one putting my resume in, and trying to keep building contacts. Doesn't matter how high your degree is.

fighting depression

The last couple of days I've really been fighting depression, and I'm not sure why. Yes, my computer is frustrating me, and yes, I'm anxious about what my doctor will say about my chances at surgery, but this seems something beyond either. hope it lifts soon.

Did you win a contest?

This kind of fell between the cracks and didn't get announced but there were five winners in the April Fools and Other Wise Contest. Check here to see if you were one of the top four winners and then PM or email me to tell me what you want done with your $35 prize. Since there was only ONE vote between fourth and fifth place, we decided to go ahead and give five prizes.

Took the plea bargain

I went to see my lawyer this morning, really just to sign the motion for him to get the case dismissed. The state came back this morning with another offer, removing two of the charges against me. I decided to not risk 15 years in prison and instead settle on 6 months probation. The probation doesn't have me attending any classes or effect my life in any way other than to mail in something every month saying that I am alive.
