New Series

I have started to post a new series, "Old Friend, New Love". I thought I had posted as a novel chapter, but it didn't appear that way. From comments, some have interpreted this to be a (very incomplete) solo. It is my intention to post a chapter (or more, as in the 1st installment, when the chapters are short) each day until done. The part of the story I am releasing for the contest, is done (though open to further editing). I hope you enjoy it. Comments and PM's are welcome (and may be used to determine if I write more or crawl back into my closet).

QnEZ Servers - Cloud VPS Sale!

Hi Everyone! Let me start out by reminding you that QnEZ Servers is BigCloset! And any money spent at QnEZ Directly helps BigCloset and put food on my table.

I know we've tried to not run a lot of our own advertising here in the past, and I know a lot of our users are IT professionals and do this kind of work themselves, but I also realize that there are authors just starting out, and not knowing where to start on the road to having their own site, and such so I throught I'd post about our latest sale here!

Help finding the story...

I came across a story long ago in which due to some kind of punishment two friends have to attend a prom as a punishment.
The one who has to o as a girl whines a lot about being him as the girl of the two and the other of course as a boy. The mother of the "girl" assures "her" that this is also a punishment for "her" friend as he has to endure the embarrassment if it was found out that he has attended the prom with a boy and not a girl. Thanks in advance.

Authors Best of My Stories

A few things happened this week that caused me to look at unfinished stories on my list and then I heard a radio announcer advertise a BBC Radio programme called 'Jamie and the Piano Man - A Billy Joel Special'.
I read several stories again checking for work I needed to do to tidy up and fulfil a promise.

My favourite posting from my own list is 'Sing me a Song Mr Piano Man' and I wondered if authors might consider the same and pick their favourite stories from their own lists that gave them the most satisfaction (and did not necessarily receive the most kudos.)

Karen Lockhart has asked me to let readers of her stories know that she is not well at present. She's in hospital ICU with respiratory issues but is stable. However there may be a delay in starting her next story - 'Ginny's Story' which is the sequel to 'Gene's Story'.

I'm keeping in regular touch with her cousin and will report any developments.

Well, I have some good news to share.

First, my mom bought me some new shoes, and they seem to be helping me walk a little better.

This will really help put less strain on my knees and hips, so that's a yay.

The other bit of good news is my doctor has arranged for me to see a specialist in January about the pain in my privates, so hopefully, I might get some answers as to why I often hurt there.

But certain situations, cause and effect created a bad afternoon. Let me explain something first. My twin girls are three years old and are in the last stages of potty training. What that means is that we still have more accidents than I like. My youngest is still in diapers. The twins are now wearing pull-ups and on the whole, that sets the scene.

ISO Story

Seeing the latest chapter of Kelly's Story reminded me of a similar story I've lost track of. An elderly veteran with a penchant for keeping things interesting is offered a chance at rejuvenation with the understanding that he will become a teen girl. She is adopted by her psych and enrolled in high school like any normal girl her age. It doesn't take long before she makes her new life interesting. Beating up bullies in the mall and at school gets her attention the government would rather not have.

Long story short her kid had to have a gender "switch" and they're not taking it well at all. About my latest piece

If you peeked at my latest story, and wondered what the heck was going on, let me take a moment to help explain things.

See, about 8 years ago, I found this site, and after lurking for a while, I took the plunge, became a member, and created my first story.

It's called "The Saga of E-Girl", and it was kind of a tribute to the Shazam stories I had loved as a kid.

I wont say its a bad story, but I will say I think my writing has improved since then, but despite that, I have a soft spot for that story, and have revisited the "E-Girl" universe a few times since.

Because of my Amish conditioning perhaps, I have never gotten my head around having sex with a male outside of a lawful marriage, so it has had no use outside of my plastic bf. My hypothesis is that due to lack of use, germs build up in there and indirectly provide the source of the UTI germs.

I also plan to discuss the use of Lavage to perhaps keep that more clean.

Writing

I wrote my first story yesterday, because I had an idea stuck in my head for it. I thought it would get maybe ten or fifteen reads, but I was surprised and delighted that people cared about what I wrote. Not only did it get attention, but I found I liked it. That story was my first try at writing something outside of a assignment for school. I realized I loved writing that story, because it was something I cared about. I'm working on a second story and might continue my first. Writing also helps me pass time, I got lost writing earlier for two or three and felt so alive.

tricksters

Disney has released a new animated movie, and one of the characters in it is Maui, who is a trickster (demi) god.

When I read that, it got me thinking how common the idea of the trickster is. Almost every mythology around the world seems to have a character who could be called a trickster, whether its Maui, or Loki, or Annasi (trickster spider from Africa, who was so clever he often tricked himself).

I wonder what that says of us as a species, that we love the idea of a trickster so much?

Hi! This is my first post, so I'm a bit nervous. I have trouble putting my emotions into words, whenever I try I end up frustrated. This means I usually just bottle up my emotions, fighting to keep the down, to wear that fake smile that never reaches my eyes. I feel like I'm lying when I talk to others who think they know me, who think they know how I feel and in a way I am. They see my act falter and they wonder what's wrong, but I push them away. Even my family gets pushed away. They ask why I stay in my room all the time, separated from them.

I'm awake right now because I was having a weird dream. In the dream, Mel Brooks asks what if Buddha had been a nice Jewish boy from Queens?

Siddhartha the Buddha, or as his mother called him, Siddhartha the Bum.

She says to him, Sid, Sid, why don't you get a job? Your brother Marty has a nice job on Wall Street and what are you doing? Sitting under a tree eating plums!

I woke up laughing.

I tried to go back to sleep but Mrs. Gautama kept talking.

That particular blurb on the back cover of the book would be one of the best "teasers" I have read in a long long time. I'm hard pressed to remember anyone I've ever read that was any better. What kind of demographic readers would that one NOT pull in to open the book and start scanning in interest? Probably better than twenty percent of those who picked up the novel would buy the book. Stack Exchange is a place I go a lot for programming and systems management help. One of the sites that Stack Exchange operates is one called "Worldbuilding".

Amazon paperbacks

Hey peeps

As the more observant of you will have spotted Amazon have started an 'on demand' print service. I'm in the process of making all the Gaby series available, the Nena books are already up.

Amazingly there have been some hard copy sales already, so my query is, if you have bought an Amazon print book what do you think of them?

Whilst this isn't intended as a sales plug I would just like to remind you that if you are buying anything on Amazon if you log in through BC this site gets a 'royalty' - Gaby sales last month put $50 in the coffers in this way.

behind the scenes of Mercy

I hope you guys don't mind, but I would like to take you behind the scenes of Mercy for a moment.

A while back, I felt really stuck on this story. What I wanted to do was get Faith to a point where she had grown enough and learned enough that I could bring back Brand for a final confrontation, but I simply didn't know how to get there from where the story was at the time.

So realizing that conflict drives stories, I asked for help in creating an opponent for Faith.

Backups? wot Backups?

Backups are a PITA so they often don't get done.
Just refer to the anguish that Maddy Bell had where her PC stopped working.
Now she's got no excuse for not backing up her work. {courtesy of yours truly}

I came upon this little ditty again today.

Yesterday,

All those backups seemed a waste of pay.

Now my database has gone away.

Oh I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,

There's not half the files there used to be,

And there's a milestone hanging over me

The system crashed so suddenly.

Janglewood Problems

Author:

For some reason, Jangle wood won't accept my user name or email address. After PayPal states that I have paid, a big yellow page with the word Janglewood pops up telling me that - The page could not be found and an error number Node.3- appears.

Guide to fast Gender and Name Changes on Identity Documents

Several of my friends put together a guide for transgender individuals who are trying to update their identity documents as quickly as possible, before Trump's administration takes over and puts much of this in jeopardy.

Transgender Day of Remembrance Nov. 20, 2016

Blog About:

Author:

The annual Transgender Day of Remembrance is November 20, 2016.

For my locality there is a rembrance service on Nov 19. It's quite an emotional experience. I urge everyone who can to check your local LGBT sites for local services. While heart wrenching, it's well worth the experience. Considering the potential political upheaval we all need to be aware.

Please... go if you can.

Speech study

Blog About:

Author:

On Monday, I got to participate in an interesting study on speech.

They put sensors on my body, and recorded me talking about a video, and what they created on the computer looks like a stick figure with my voice.

They plan to show this to people, asking them if they can determine if I am male or female based on my voice and the movements of the stick figure.

When they get their information, they plan to use it to help trans women pass better in terms of their speech and body movements.

Here is the News

So first we've got this weeks chapter of Nena Four Star, Part 4.

Below, as promised yesterday, is the sample German translation followed by the original English text. I know its not perfect, I know it needs some tweaks here and there, what I need to know is whether its readable or just so rubbish its useless.

Cheers & thanks in advance
Mads

ps the text is from the latest Nena tale 'Remind Me Again'

Delays to Dragonfly

I'm just letting everyone know that there may/will be some delays to the updates for my fanfic "Dragonfly". The third part will be posted on time Thursday as I planned it but I can't say for any certainty that I will be able to keep to that schedule. I've been bogged down with work which ate away at bumper I tried making and I have also been dealing with some depression that started creeping up on me again which really saps my creativity and desire to write.

action/adventure

I've had some drama in my life lately, and I could use a good action/adventure tg story to pick me up. On Stardust I read Grover's Dream of Dragon's and that was FUN, and i'd love something similar.

So can anyone point me in the direction of some fun adventure stories?

Coffee'd keyboard

Author:

So, I poured coffee into my keyboard, a Blue Tooth one, that seems OK. Well, the keyboard still works, so I thought I'd tear it down and give it a bit of a flush out, since I have done it before numerous times on other ones.

My question? Is there a certain spray solvent to use?

BigCloset Downtime

Hey Everyone.

I wanted apologize for the delay in getting the site back online today.

What happened is that one of our many elves happened to click a wrong button causing all of the "Author Taxonomy" to disappear. That may sound like an easy fix, of just rolling back the database, but in doing so we would have lost a couple new stories, and blogs that we didn't want to disappear.
