I nearly didn’t watch this documentary because I was expecting it to be a polemic about how children are too young to know their own minds or how the previous regime in a clinic in Canada were into conversion therapy.

Well, I am home from my Doctor's appointment, and it went better than I could have hoped. The occasional pains are minor muscle issues, and nothing to worry about. Plus, the doctor was very gentle and told me everything she was gonna do before she did it, and between that and using my grounding, I didn't have nearly the trouble I was expecting.

So yay!

Due to my ongoing health issues, I've decided to take a short break and go "off grid". What this basically means is that I WILL be on site, but WILL NOT be responding to questions, comments, or messages until Sunday afternoon, Jan. 15. I apologize to all my friends, readers, and fans, but I really need this time for personal reflection and healing. Those few people in what I consider my "inner circle" know who they are (I hope), and know how to (and when to) contact me, if needed. I love you all, and will be back soon.

Anyone here use to taking them? Any advice you wanna give me? One of the courses I'm taking is an intro course to programming using Python.

I know I've never been the most cherished author here, but this has always been the place I felt most comfortable sharing my creativity. I love writing, and I love stories, both reading them and sharing them, and for much of the last 10 years BC has been THE place I did so.

I'm having a WONDERFUL day today, mentally. I was reading my site messages, and some (to protect her privacy) nameless individual actually asked for my opinion and advice on a story she's currently writing. i can't possibly even begin to express how empowered that made me feel!!! I just hope I was up to the task, and provided her with some information that will, ultimately benefit her. She really is a talented author, and I KNOW, without a doubt, that she will do well on this site. Thank you for putting your trust in me and my opinions. I hope I didn't disappoint you...

OK, so I now have two contributing authors writing stories for Smoky Corners. I consider crazypagangurl and Leila friends, and accomplished authors in their own rights, and am DEEPLY HONORED both chose to write such marvelous works that add depth to the universe I designed.

That being said, I must address something that will prove crucial to the survival of the Smoky Corners universe:

After dinner this evening, I sat with my oldest son and watched the end of the movie Platoon. One of the final lines of the movie that Charlie Sheen gives through a voice over as he is medivac'd out has always stuck with me. "Those of us that did make it have an obligation to rebuild - to try and find some goodness out of what we survived."

That could be applied to most of us in one way or another. We are all survivors in our own way, and we all have an obligation to make the world better - not just for ourselves, but for our children and for those who will follow after us.

just would like to say that no matter how many times I go back and reread her stories I never get tied of them.

On Thursday evening (BBC2 9pm) a programme will be aired in the UK that will appeal to transphobes across the planet. Discredited Dr Kenneth Zucker is quoted as an expert concerning young (pre-teen & teen) transgendered children. One suggestion is:
“A four-year-old might say he wants to be a dog. But do you go out and buy him dog food?”

Mermaids is said to be very concerned and were not asked to participate in the programme.

Some readers may notice a slight similarity between my latest story and a more famous book, and to help cement that idea, I planted some "Easter egg" style hints throughout the story.

It reads just like an autobiography. Is it fiction, or was it Real Life™? All I know is, it is my story—the one I would write for myself, if only I could. Since I never had even the ghost of a prayer of creating such a life for real, it has to remain my wish fulfillment story. More than any other story I have ever heard or seen, so far, that is what it is. My wish-fulfillment story. All I can do is read it…and weep…

First off. My last parent, my dad, is going in soon for surgery to have a tumor removed from his spine. Btw soon in Manitoba medical is NOT a good thing. It means they think it is serious.. He was told he has a 10% chance to walk again after surgery. For a man that hasn't sat still for very long unless sleeping this is not good news.

I refuse to cry.

Second there is many "experts" out there saying that you should only let your car warm up 30secs then drive it.

I've mentioned to a few that I've been kind sick the past few days. it affected my writing. Late Nite Princess will be delayed one week. Sorry folks.

Hi to all the old readers of my stories, namely The girl inside the boy and Carla's Journey, I haven't done any writing for quite a while because life become very busy once you have fully transitioned, I have been post op now for four years and have never looked back. But of course there are always some family members that will never recognise your change, it is their problem not yours. I may in the future do some more writing and being seventy one years of age with a bit of a heart problem I am happy to just read some of the stories published on Big Closet.

Author's Commentary on Somewhere Else Entirely: Chapters 15 to 18

I'm now into the meat of the story (or so I innocently believed, anyway) and I am working my way through the preliminaries before the essential action takes place - the as yet completely undetermined journey to the north, which will resolve everything.

Well, it did and it didn't, but that is for another commentary. For now, Garia is still establishing her place in the palace structure.

I have spent hours this evening trying to complete my returns to maintain my licence to tickle dormice. At the end the other computer rejected them twice. As this is a priority for me, I shall have to keep trying at this when I have time so Bike is on hold until I get it right. Thanks for your patience, I'm sure you'll enjoy the next twist in Cathy's story when I get round to writing it.

Well, I did something that some people might think was silly. I was having a tough day with pain and PTSD, and by lunch time, I was getting to a bad place, so on my break, I went to the toy department, and bought a pink hippo stuffie.

I think it was $10 well spent, even if some others would disagree ..

I was wondering if there was a way to Block certain authors on TG Storytime? There is an author on there that refuses to use she/her pronouns for Trans Women characters and I'm sick of seeing their disgusting trans misogyny. I've thought about reporting them but I doubt the admins will care but I could be wrong. Has anyone had any luck with the report function? I'm asking because I'm not going to bother if this person will be protected and nothing will be done. If anything I'd just like the ability to remove them from my list so I don't have to see any of their terrible work.

I just put a new story up a little while ago, and in the process, it seems I rediscovered my little. I hadn't seen hide nor hair of her since late 2005, so more than eleven years have gone by, yet it seems I woke her up, so to speak, simply by using the name Jessica in my piece.

As I said, I hadn't had her come out for so long that I actually forgot her name, which is Jessica. What makes it even odder, at least for me, is I've read who knows how many stories featuring someone named or renamed Jessica, or written by someone named Jessica.

I read a story, think it was on Big Closet about a young man who is a dress designer, ends up work in an upscale dress shop in a mall and is slowly feminized. His mother is also a seamstress and he help her. Along with his BFF he dress as one of the female characters from Lord of the Rings for halloween, his boss dresses as Jessica Rabbit.

Well with 2 exasperations of my copd in one month my doc ordered lung xrays.
Got those done yesterday morning. This afternoon I got called to see her about the results.

1) Results normally take 2 business days to get back to her, one day is very fast.
2) She doesn't go over results with patients without patient request unless there is bad news.

my appointment is Wednesday.

I've been working diligently on my collection of MORFS stories. I've updated and reformatted the entire crop, and added a few. I'm going to repost the ones that I have updated, and start on posting the new ones.

If you see any errors, please let me know. A PM is fine for little things, and a public comment is fine for boners that will be educational to other authors (like if I use "its" instead of "it's.")

There are four cards. Each has a number printed on one side and a letter on the other.

There is a rule - which may or may not be true - that every card printed with 'D' on one side must have '3' printed on the other side.

The cards are laid down. They show D, F, 3, 7.

Which card(s) do you have to turn over in order to verify whether or not the rule holds good?

Recently I have been catching up on some Whateley Tales I have missed reading, and I keep reading references to Combat Finals and as a result I noticed that I may have missed a story somewhere as more than one refers to the damage Elaine Ethel "Doc" Nalley (Loophole) causes in hers.

Is this actually covered in a story or just an internal Whateley 'This Happened'?

Hey everyone! I know quite a lot of users here are quite technical, and many have their own websites, so I thought it was important to post this here.

As the year draws to a close the temperature here is plummeting! What at first glance looked like a good layer of snow this morning was actually a heavy frost that has persisted all day - even in the city centre!

I had a few moments and downloaded a few books from Amazon.

It was a frustrating experience. Only one of the about dozen TG books I bought had a BC author. Her book was excellent. The others ranged from poor to really poor.

I have recently discovered Ginger Collins, whose output seems to have been restricted to one year, December 2008 to December 2009. I found all the stories very readable, and far and away the best kept to last, almost exactly seven years ago when "Whatever Happened To Andy Crewson?" was posted on the last day of that year.

It is my belief that re-posting would help other newer readers like me to share in the delight of good stories well told.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I also would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. We had a very different Christmas this year. Instead of spending it at home; we went to my in laws. I'm not complaining. I love my in laws. As much as I love my own parents. My only grumble about living in the UK is that I miss the snow. Hey I'm a Boston girl we're experts on snow lol. The kids had a great time especially as they were on the floor in sleeping bags. Well the older ones were the baby was in his mobile crib aka Moses basket.
