I would like to thank all those who chose to read my little tale 'Jools'. I originally had no intention of a follow up to 'Jools'. But I was enamored with the characters and the setting and just could not resist. Plus... What better way to screw up a decent tale than with a follow up? I now want to go to Denmark and spend the rest of my life eating smoked and pickled fish and cheeses.
Whilst reading Chapter 7 of 'Emma and Sam' for posting, much to my horror I realized that I never finished it even though Chapter 8 was nearly done. Therefore I had to break it into two parts...something I hate doing. The second part of 7 is still being written. Meh... Andrea Lena has been of tremendous help in 'pulling me off the ceiling' during this process. Hopefully...by the good graces of the Gods and Goddesses, the second part will be read by this coming weekend.
I must extend a major league thank you to Drea. She's been keeping me on track with my current offering. Her guidance and encouragement are never ending...as usual. I would also like to thank those who chose to comment on my tale. I truly wish I had the time to answer your comments and to acknowledge their content. Unfortunately I do not have enough hours in my day to do so and I apologize for that. For lack of a better description...I'm am, amongst other things, a Rugby mom to three maniacs and their insane father!!!
I've finally managed to re-post my tale in the 'normal' format. A shout out to Drea for trying to post for me twice. And a special shout out to Teek for mentioning the smiley faces. This posting program gets indigestion from smiley face emojis!!! Thank you so very much Teek!!!
I begun a new tale I've been working on for too long; two years. I got to chapter 8 when the virus reared its ugly little head and interrupted life as we all have known it. Unfortunately I had to post it as a pfd. I simply couldn't post it as a regular tale because I got error message after error message. I can't figure out whether I derped or the program derped. And I simply couldn't waste more time messing with it.
Hi gang... I'm about to post the first chapter of a nine chapter tale. It is not pretty. It is not about nice people. It has more triggers than all the pistols in Ireland and many of them are mine...the triggers that is. We are all angry people. But there are different degrees of anger. And though this tale deals with two extremely angry people, their anger is not apparent.
All those people who claim not to have a life have seen fit to give them to me!!! I began this latest offering in early December hoping to have my annual seasonal fluff ready. At this point (tonight) I am sick of looking at it. I'm not quite sure I even like it. But dealing with three little men and one really huge child, as well as a minor medical issue, I decided to simply toss it to the wind...so to speak. I must admit it is somewhat of a provincial tale but then again so am I.
Why is it I seem to get swept up by the tides of life and not the other way around? Don't answer that. You'd only embarrass me. Our guest, my sister-in-law, has decided not to return home and then return here in but three weeks. She's decided to stay on until my sister comes. Of course this upsets my plans somewhat. But it is a joyful upset.
I've just come to the last of the four hundred and sixty six pages of this unfinished work modestly entitled 'Andi and Allie'. I need to review the last twenty pages and decide if this is where I really want to exit this tale. I have the feeling that there is much more to relate and I don't want to shorten what could continue on as a viable and interesting saga. So... In light of this development I hope the readers will be patient with me as I ponder the future of all the characters.
I wish to thank all the very dear souls who wished me a speedy recovery. That does seem to be occurring. I am now halfway up toward the ceiling indicating that all shall return to 'normal' in short order. I needed to have two wisdom teeth removed on each side of my lower jaw. One had another tooth beneath it!!! How weird is that? My three little children and my one really huge child have been walking about with huge smiles upon their faces. I haven't been able to speak!!! Rest assured that I shall make up for this also in short order!!!
I must apologize that the latest chapter of 'Andi and Allie' is delayed. I had a slight medical emergency on Thursday which was remedied on Friday. I am currently in no pain and resting comfortably on the ceiling. Better living through chemistry? As soon as the fog clears from the heath of my mind I shall continue finishing up this chapter. I also wish to thank all those who chose to comment and please rest assured that I read them all. Unfortunately I've not the time to respond to them in a manner that is to my liking.
I'm afraid the next chapter of my ongoing soap opera, Andi and Allie, will be slightly delayed. It was originally written some time ago as a belated follow up to 'Pet'. This particular chapter needed radical updating since it was originally begun about five or six years ago. To keep some sort of consistency in terms of a time line, changes needed to be made. Hopefully it will be ready sometime on Monday.
So... My tale ambles on. I don't particularly like posting chapter by chapter. In 'Andi and Allie', the chapters tend to be small so that at least two must be posted as one. The problem rests in the continuity of the tale. Chapters in and of themselves can be taken out of context and give a jaded vision of the tale. But such is life I suppose.
This chapter is actually the combination of three. Normally there is congruency between the chapters but the last one began so differently that I chose to capitalize the beginning of it. Although this chapter is quite drama heavy, and tissues were provided, the true drama has yet to begin!!! I hope you all enjoy is one. ;-)
We're sitting in Coll's and I'm into my second pint of Murphy's. Being partial to Murphy's and having internet made this a fair to middling chose. So this new chapter of And nd Allie is being posted between trips to the WC and trips to BC. I could only manage one rather weak pic but things being where they are...that is in the midst of nowhere...County Donegal...it's the best I can manage. This offering is actually a combination of three chapters. I would like to finish posting this tale before the next decade!!! Please excuse any weirdness in the editing.
I've managed to get off the next chapter of porn before my trip to the hinter lands. Hopefully I corrected enough spellings and kept the continuity straight. I normally only do one picture with my tales but I've gotten these apps for the iPad and I've been having loads of fun playing with the photos.
I wish to thank all those who have commented on my ongoing romcomdram 'Andi and Allie'. Unfortunately I've not the time to respond to any of the very kind words written by the commenters. But I do thank all of you none-the-less. I am gratified by the reception this tale has received. Unfortunately, in a rush to post at least one or two more chapters before next Monday, the art work will be scant. I am going on a 'vacation' with my brood and won't be back until the following Sunday.
In the latest chapter of the 'And and Allie' tale, a picture of a purse is displayed. More than a few years ago a coworker came to me. He was very upset. He stated that he spent a considerable amount on a purse for his wife. He mentioned that he saw it at the mall and felt compelled to purchase it because it reminded him of his beloved.
I am most gratified by the reception of my latest tale. It would seem readers are having as much fun reading the tale as I had writing it. I wish I could respond to the very kind and generous comments I've received but time seems to be my biggest enemy. I would like to think these characters are the most complex I've attempted. Every one of them has a bit of a back story that could be a novel by itself. I can say, without being the spoiler, that there are a few additional characters to fill out the 'palette' including the revival of several older ones from previous endeavors.
I've just posted the latest chapter of 'Andi and Allie'. I wanted to note that the experience Allie had with her date was based on an actual event that occurred in Fort Lauderdale some years ago. I was witness to this event as it was occurring live on the radio. I couldn't believe that anyone would be so self absorbed and callous that he could do to some poor woman what he did. Needless to say the outcome was as I wrote in the tale. He was fired from his job and he did need to move away. But the sound of that poor woman's voice as she spoke on the air was heart breaking.
Thanks to my guardian angel Andrea Lena the second chapter of 'Andi and Allie' will be posted today. The third will be upcoming hopefully this Sunday. I could not do this without Drea's amazing assistance and very patient effort. It seems that anything beyond an e-mail and such out paces my puter abilities. In an off handed compliment the big oxen of an Irishman I happen to keep company with simply states that puters are NOT a 'bab's' thing. I'm not sure whether I should feel warm and fuzzy or I should smack him. Such decisions!
So... After a most productive writing year...for me anyway... in 2016, with the help of dear Drea, the first chapter of an ungodly long tale has been posted. I wish I could promise chapters on a scheduled basis but since posting seems to be a challenge I will proceed as quickly as possible (or perhaps Drea will). I'm allegedly editing as I go along. Anyway, I am totally in her debt. We should all be that lucky. ;-) I hope you all enjoy this tale.
This has been quite an unusual year in many respects. But the strangest of all is the fact that two holidays, or religious events depending upon one's perspective, coincide; Christmas and Hanukkah. Well...being a faithful adherent to Paganism, it doesn't take much for us to be dancing around a tree. Indeed any tree will do and any time of year is 'kosher'? As for lighting candles, well...we light them at the drop of a hat...or any other piece of clothing. And, being Irish, after a pint or two...or three...we're likely to do so with greater vigor.
I've written several tales that never be posted. The themes are very dark and are very autobiographical in that they touch upon events in my life that were better not witnessed. I write because, for lack of a simpler explanation, doing so makes me feel better. I was wondering if others have similar tales that have been completed and not posted. I'm curious about why you've not posted them.
I have accomplished two amazing feats with the same stone? I've written a tale of less than 50 pages. This must be the influence of Drea. And...!!! I've also posted a tale with more than three days to go in a contest!!! This is definitely NOT the influence of Drea!!! :)
Those of you who were kind enough to comment and PM me about the use of the word 'salient', I have acquiesced and have changed it to 'sentient'. After much consideration and rumination, I felt that the point made was valid and well taken. I have, however, left the word 'saliency' where I thought being important was more important then the issue of sentiency.
I normally don't reply to comments because I simply don't have the time these days. But a guest reader brings up an interesting point. What does constitute the soul? Is it simply our moral compass? Or is it our emotional response to a particular stimulus? Or is it simply our ability to make a decision based upon intuition; gut feeling? One of the many subtexts of this tale asks exactly that question?
I HATE POSTING!!! It takes more time to get all the right crap done and checked than to write the tale and I still don't know how to list my tales as solo. And...too add insult to injury...my S.O. says puters 'are a he thing'. I don't know whether to smack him or kiss him...or both!!! So there...!!!
I acknowledge that using the PDF format proves troublesome for some of the readers. Unfortunately I barely find the time to write and even less time to learn to use this particular program. Early on Drea was kind enough to assist with some of my shorter tales. However, as my tales grew in length, and involved more graphics and therefore more formatting, the program wouldn't even accept the input ('Pet'). That is when I fumbled upon the PDF format.
