Festival time

Well, that is the Shrewsbury festival over for another year; source of so much of my inspiration. Some wonderful music, old friends popping out of the woodwork, and very sore fingertips on my left hand. Last year I played so much and so enthusiastically I snapped a plectrum; this year, I just broke a string on the last evening.

Already planning next year! I will try to remember to print off all my train tickets this time, rather than just the cycle reservations...

Wondering what to do

I have never posted a blog entry before. Not even sure if anyone will even see it. I have another story that is about half written. It is clearly not done and I have a few thoughts on where to take it. After many of my previous stories people have suggested the direction I should continue them on. To this point I have not done any of that. For a change I was thinking of posting the first part of this incomplete story and see if any of you wanted to suggest where to take it. The basic direction may be obvious, but there are lots of potential longer-term alternatives.

So I posted a few stories and ...

So a couple of months ago I finished my first story in a long while - Dani's Turn - and posted it to my usual place, FM.

Hardly a ripple in the comments. Very distressing to realize I didn't need to spend weekends writing if that's the reaction I get. I don't write for myself, I am an utterly untrained amateur who appreciated positive feedback even when it came in emails with unsolicited panty photos.

So, I was directed over to this site, that people here would be more appreciative of my skills and stories which I was assured are considerably more creative than most.

So anxiety levels are not going to be lowered for a while, sadly ...

Agender and off to College

I no longer have the patience to try to log onto Forums, but I did see a thread from someone that has my sympathy. They live in a state that wouldn't know what to do with a T folk if someone hit them with a ball bat.

I'd just like to suggest that there are places to live that are much more progressive, Oregon and California being two. It was about two months from the time I came out until my legal documentation was changed over, except for my Birth Certificate which is very easy and I still have not done.

Blessings to her.

Non Transgender

There are still a couple monthly chapters to come to A Second Chance, and Interesting Times is at a standstill. I have decided that my next story will be a non-transgender one. I don't want to limit my writing to the genre, and I have seen other writers get in a repetitive rut when they focus so many stories in the genre. Fictionmania explicitly bans non tg stories, but it appears they are allowed here (there is a tag for non-transgender).

Writing and Life

After everything that's happened in my life lately---the eviction looming chief among them---I think I need a break. I've been giving it a lot of thought lately and I'm not happy. Not just with writing either. I took a long look at my life the other day and I realized its dull. I wake up in the morning and do the SAME NOTHING EVERY day. Its not a life I'm proud of. There's no purpose to it.

‘The Wild Boys’ movie - Sexually charged, gender-twisting

An unusual movie

The plot follows a group of lusty teenage boys (played by female actors). They land on a tropical island filled with sensual delights and, partaking of the island’s pleasures, the boys’ bodies start to transform, softening, developing breasts, shedding phalli, which sends them into a terror before they eventually embrace their new forms. ... a rough sea captain (Sam Louwyck) who has a special method for taming their unchecked testosterone.

You suffer through putting your heart into digital form for everyone to see by posting a story.

A day later you check the comments and kudos.

Whoa -- not everyone loves it. In fact, a couple of people say things that leave you wondering if you have any personal value.

What should you do about it?

A while back I asked for help finding software for writing a script.

I poured myself into what will become a seven-minute film.

Why do seemingly reasonable, logical...

Why do seemingly reasonable and logical people choose to worship a sadistic egotistical narcissistic psychopath as their g-d?

And by extension, I have to wonder why it is that so many of the people in the TG world somehow choose to cling to this ridiculous notion that the Abrahamic g-d Yahwe(and by extension Jesus) is something to be worshipped? When if you read his biography in the book called bible, only show that it is the most diabolical egotistical sadistic psychopathic being in all of fiction…

I go to a place called Religious Forums a lot. It has everyone from Atheists to Baptists there, and for some strange reason, two men, one a Buddhist, and the other a Baha'i are attracted to me, apparently because I'm so obsessive and broad in my research. I don't write worth a hoot, but love research.

What a strange feeling to have a man interested. I've already said there will be no sex.

My last Hurrah

As the title suggests I will be talking about something that I never wanted to post but I honestly need to now. I’m currently working on a story that will be my last hurrah most likely. You see, I have 3 little girls to take care of now and I will be going back to work in a few weeks. I have much more important things to be doing nowadays than writing. My kids do sports and they are very active in church groups and love to be outside. Life has been hard for me since moving up to where I am now, I’ve been battling with personal demons for years and I almost lost my battle a few months ago.

Back home a lot lighter of purse I got down to the writing I should have done Saturday. It went okay, I got the chapter finished mid evening which gave me enough time to put together and format the second arc ready for Wednesday publication.

In a quandry

I started a story about 2 years ago and have been working on it off and on since. Lately I've been putting more effort into it as the direction of the story has evolved. I've set the story in a high school. A real high school and the protagonist is involved in one of the real groups. I'm not using any real world names; everyone is fictional. The school is being used as mostly a backdrop but the activity the central character is involved with is a real entity. I have characters using phrases used at the school. I did this because I thought it'd be fun to use a non-fictional setting.

Its been very smoky here in Edmonton this week, as fires rage all across BC and the smoke pours over the mountains into Alberta. Should be good writing weather but I ... just havent had as much writing spoons as I would have liked. Still, I have a couple of pieces more or less ready - one for the September contest, and one for the next "mix tape" if it gets accepted. Plus I have one more that is about a quarter done, my Siege of Fiddler's Vale story which is started but kinda stalled, and a few older pieces I hope I can get wrapped up some day. So as the saying goes, stay tuned !

Story and Author suggestions please!

Hello everyone!

I recently came across this site a few days ago and just created an account!

The community seems lovely, and I'd really appreciate some suggestions on particular authors or stories to read!

Personally, I like sentimental stories and slow transition/gender realization stories, but I'm pretty flexible and I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts on the best authors and stories to check out!

So happy to be here!

Third Gender, Guna Yala

On BBC, there is an interesting piece about Third Gender on Islands east of Panama. It seems that little boys who feel like girls just live that way, with full acceptance of the community. I guess going the other way is OK too. No word about any surgeries.

I remember reading another article about the Marsh people of southern Iraq who did the same way. Saddam all but exterminated them.

You see Virginia, there is some sanity in the world.

New Book-Gold Digger Bride Demoted to Grade School on Amazon

I will start with a potentially important point, as opposed to many of my stories, this story does not involve cross-dressing or any gender issues at all. It focuses on age regression and social demotion. It is a rewrite of a story I wrote many years ago expanded to hopefully be better written and more consistent.

This is the story of a new bride jumping into a family with a high school age daughter and a strong housekeeper who has raised the daughter since the mother died several years before.

Flashback and other ideas I've had for 21 years or so

Flashback

I know, the title is not original...nor is the concept, but it deals with a girl who can go back in time by literally taking a step back. She can go back to a particular day and retain the knowledge of what occurred.

There are times where her powers bring her to situations where there are more of her in the same moment in time and they have to solve the quantum puzzle at hand. I had one scene in particular where her girlfriend has been accused of murdering someone and in her attempt to clear her name she is shot which causes a paradox.

The woman I talked to did the same thing. I don't want to reveal the name of the surgeon here, but I will if you PM me.

Someone sent me a message about Patrick Macnee's autobiography

I've read the book, it's hilarious and I'd like to thank whoever put me onto it. As an autobiography of an actor (best known for 'The Avengers' on television) it records his extraordinary life, from his very eccentric parents to his education, war years and life on the stage with all his adventures and misadventures. Highly recommended. It's called 'Blind in One Ear' by the way and that's not a typo. The book explains why.

A place for promotions

I notice that more and more blog postings are about book releases. I wonder if there could be a dedicated place for books, where they could last a little longer than in the blogs. I have no problem with authors making a posting about their books in the blogs, but I think to encourage sales, a longer lasting place might be appropriate. In other words, when the release falls off the blog, it could move to the new place. The Forums section seems dead, maybe that is where they could go.

Does something like this seem workable Erin? What do others think?

The only problem was that in Australia, the telecast ran until 2am most nights and 4am the final night! I confess I cheated and recorded the last two hours, but it was great to watch today. What a pity that they didn't play 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau' ('Land of my Fathers') at the closing ceremony, but with Geraint proudly displaying the Welsh flag, there was no doubt about where he came from.

I'm trying to find a story - not sure if it was posted here as a serial or if it has been published; it is a sci-fi about a space pilot forcibly transgendered (m2f) - rescued from the enemies "hospital" ship along with other crew who have also been changed. Helps some other crew come to terms with their change, while still having issues hirself. Finds out she looks like a member of an allied planets rulers, and that there is a plot to destabilize that planet.

Any ideas?

So... there I was riding my Motorcycle over the 'bridge to nowhere' aka the Humber Bridge in Eastern England at around 11:30 this morning and out of the corner of my eye I saw someone Water Skiing up the Humber and under the bridge. A 'wtf' moment if ever I saw one.
Then the skiier fell off and into the muddy brown water.
Quite why someone would choose to ski up the river when the sea which was flat calm today is less than 15 miles away.
