Just to clarify...
... you are talking about anime, not cartoons.
If you are mentioning Yuri, and manga(printed form), that is in reference to Japanese anime, like shoujo, or shoujo ai, or shounen anime.
If you can though rather watch shoujo ai, instead of Yuri, unless you are into full-on sex and fan service(big tits and ass)compared to worthwhile stories. Watch something like 'Bloom into you' or 'Citrus' or 'Straberry Panic' or 'Maria-sama ga miteru' or 'Simoun' or 'Princess Princess ' for that matter.
American and European cartoons are not the same thing as Japanese anime. I should know, I have watched about 1500 Japanese anime series and movies. The American and European stuff is crap in comparison. And if you ever choose to watch anime, watch it in the original Japanese language with English subtitles. Their original voice work is just far superior to most if not all dubs.
