Since my transition many years ago every few months my breasts will produce milk.
I went to my doctor and she informed me that it is normal that it simply happens when my progesterone levels drop.
I have a neighbor who is a good friend who recently had a baby and was adamant that she wasn't going to use formula ever for her children. A couple of months after giving birth she became ill and her doctor advised her to stop breastfeeding immediately for the babys health.
In a panic she was contacting all her relatives to try to get one of them to nurse her baby. I just happened to be bringing back some borrowed clothes when she noticed the wet spots on my blouse.
She knows me well and the fact that I am transgendered.
She asked me if i did indeed produce milk and i retrieved and showed her the doctors report bout my lactation.
After a discussion with her husband she asked if i would be willing to nurse their baby.
For me this was a dream come true sinse i had been told many times that i wasn't a real woman and wouldn't ever be able to get pregnant or nurse a baby by several homophobic people including my friends sister.
I regularly nursed my friends baby for about six months and pumped to provide milk in between.
It was a truly wonderful experience.
The icing on the cake came one day as i was nursing the baby my friends homophobic sister dropped in un announced and walked in on us where i was sitting with the baby at my breast.
Speachless rage is all i could see on her face before she abruptly left.
My friend confided that her sister found out that she was unable to get pregnant.
It was one of the most beautiful experiences in my lifetime.
I have sinse had three other transgender friends who have also breastfed their adopted children and a relitives baby.
Don't ever even think you are not a real woman.
