Logged into Facebook and read that I was dead. My brother had a very close friend, whom his kids called uncle, pass away. My brother's 95 year old mother-in-law posted her condolences for me. Glad I caught that before my daughter did. I'm not dead, at least I think I'm not. Interesting way to start your day.

say what now?

Well, last night, my supervisor came by and told me she wanted me to motivate my fellow workers in finishing as fast as possible. I giggled, but she said she was serious, she wanted me to do this. I asked her, "Why me?"

She said, "Because I like you."

Well, what the heck could I say to that?

Repost of a story

I've noticed that as of late the reposting of several stories on BC. How long should one wait before a repost is done. The reason I ask is that I'm tempted to run the Show Me the Money series. Funny thing is that I decided to read the story myself. I hadn't visited it for five years, since posting it, and forgot what a lovely story it is and to be honest forgot most of the characters in the story, and I wrote it. Oh well old age will do that to you, Arecee

Shamamism and the Transsexual

In most Shamanic traditions, a religious belief system that pre-dates all the mainstream religions, and appears to be almost universal amongst the peoples from whom most modern cultures drew their inspiration, so might be seen as the authentic root from which all later variations of religious belief sprouted, gender expression is seen as a special power bestowed by the higher powers, and some degree of transsexuality and/or transvestism was and is essential to the role of spiritual advisor to the community, because of course the spiritually-limited, those who weren't able to incorporate the

Feeling Paranoid!

I'm feeling very paranoid today because of something my mother said this morning. I was about to tell her something amazing that I had found out last night. I said, ''You'll never guess what I found out last night!'' and she replied, ''That you are really a boy?'' with a slight smile. That got me worried. It's probably nothing but it's just the way she said it that made me paranoid. It was as if she knew something. Bleagh. I hope she doesn't.

Tell Jaci I'm NOT a girly girl!

Well, last night, Jaci was talking to me, and she was trying out her "manly man" voice (and totally failing to sound at all like a guy, she sounds like a girl with a cold), when I started to .... chuckle. A little.

She jumps on it, and says I giggle like a school girl, which is totally NOT true, I laugh like a guy, I know I do ....

Isnt it great to have a friend who will tease you until you cant help but laugh?

The curious case of moving to France

Now anyone who knows me, knows that I am not TG. I just feel I understand what those who are go through. I know my work isn't the most popular, but it's been read often and most of the comments have been positive. I'm obviously on the right track at least.

Penny of course is more than a little uncomfortable with this, but accepts that she may not like the subjects I have chosen to write about but is comfortable that I'm not going to start wearing her clothes or spending the weekends 'en-femme', demanding to be called Susan or something similar.

Praise for Lulu Publishing

Several years ago I purchased a couple of ebook versions of Tiffany Shar's Standing Up to Life, and Daring to Hope from Lulu.com. When I went to download them onto my new tablet, I found that there was no link for the download. I clicked on the problem with this order link and sent off my problem. I got an automated reply that didn't solve the problem, so I clicked on the "This didn't solve my problem" link and in less than an hour I got a reply.

Countdown to 2000

With only ten more episodes to go to the 2000 I feel it incumbent upon me to ask the readers if they want me to continue this saga for a bit longer, assuming the indulgence of Erin and her pixies, in supporting the proposition.

Please let me know what you'd like me to do.

Whew!

Managed to get that chapter done and posted. Took a lot longer than it should of, but health concerns are a pain in the tuckus and hold up many a project. So hopefully I can get back to juggling stories and get caught up on things. We'll see. Just letting you all know that I'm gonna try but I have a new Tegan book taking up my time as is Written In The Body. I will be doing what I can until those are out and done. Just a heads up, but things should be better now, as I am feeling a good bit better and can write more. Enjoy.

You can thank Tels I'm still here

Well, you guys can thank Jaci (AKA Tels) that I'm still here. I woke this morning feeling completely numb. Nothing mattered, nothing had any meaning of any kind. As I went through my morning routine like a zombie, I came to the conclusion I had to quit being Dorothy, since I had lost my family and my daughter didnt want to be seen in public with me. I dont know how long this would have lasted before I would have done something drastic, but fortunately, Jaci was online, and agreed to phone me.

No Different Flesh

I’m saddened by how few people know the writing of Zenna Henderson. Her books and stories were a combination of non-technical sci-fi, psychic powers like magic, deep spirituality and strong emotional resonance. Although she did not write TG fiction, she wrote often of what it feels like to be the outsider, to be miserably alone and then to find a community of people like yourself. For that reason she may be of interest to BCTS readers.

Quick question (non-tg so far, but writing related)

Last year, I came across a book about what makes a hero a hero, and a villain a villain, and what the differences really are. Ok, I lost the link to the book and was wondering if anyone here has, perchance, seen it? Basically, who is the greater good person, the hero that accidentally floods the valley and lets a few innocents die, or the villain who saves the people but makes the hard decisions on who to save? Call thenm the arrogant hero and the tragic villain. There are so many writers here, there must be an answer somewhere, just need to keep looking :P
Thanks!

This isn't easy

It is finished. Well, almost finished. I summed up my arguments against trans-sexuality being a sin. Now I want to give an accurate description of your average transsexual because I think society at large doesn't have a clue. I should be done the end of this week and need to edit. Then I need a strong marketing push.

Please, please, please, put away 2.99 for you to buy this the day it comes out and tell others to do the same. I think it is in all our bests interest if this makes the top 10 apologetic list on Amazon.

I'm giving up on reaching my brother and sister-in-law

Well, last night, we had Easter dinner with the family, and my sister-in-law said some interesting things. First, she basically put aside the work I've been doing trying to recover the memories of my rape and its association to my gender issues, saying such memories have been added to and subtracted from over the years to the point they are not reliable.

That's a wrap folks. Part two is going through a second edit and should post tomorrow sometime. This concludes all writing on Angel Season One, and now it's time for a little break. This is a stellar personal achievement of mine, one I am very proud of considering my past dislike for writing. In the seven months I have been writing, I have finished with a word count just over 199k. Feels great to see something through, from start to finish.

I usually don't make my life's frustrations public, but sometimes it just feels like the world is working against you. To add to my growing depression and frustration at my inablility to do any writing lately (I have at least 5 projects in various stages of being written, but last night my computer's main hard drive had a catastrophic failure. I had just cleared the secondary drive to move stuff there to free up space, but it was late and "I could do it tomorrow." The loss is immeasurable and among the causalties were the "source" files of several stories.

It appears that she just *might* communicate with actual pixies for her stories about them. Before anyone goes thinking I'm talking out of the wrong end of my body here, I do have something that almost looks kind of like proof. And that, friends, would be located here.

The moral of the story, as the one person's daughter found out:

If you find a tree with a tiny door in the base of it, leave some candy out for the occupants. ^^

Had one of those stressful days. Dealing with Kaiser over meds and it's only a fraction of what's coming under Obama care, fighting with a supplier as to why my delivery didn't come today even though it was promised and the other delivery where the driver couldn't understand english. Said to myself, I'm going to have a drink even though I haven't allowed the devils brew to cross my lips for weeks. Not a good idea, well actually it was but now I can't write for crap.

not a good night last night

well, not a good night last night. Any night that ends with me being carted off on a stretcher has to be considered a pretty bad one, and that was the case last night. I popped my shoulder out, and they ended up taking me to the hospital to get it looked at. I got off lucky, no serious damage, but I'm off work tonight, and on modified duties for a while thereafter.

On the other hand, one of my supervisors, upon hearing a bit of my life story, described me as being tremendously together, considering my past. So there is that, I suppose .....

Signs of progress?

On this journey there can be several signs of progress. In the past year I've had plenty of them. I started counseling roughly a year ago, got on hormones, came out, somewhat transitioned to full time, started electrolysis.

Those are all good things. There is also external progress. Longer hair, more feminine features, doing work on the voice, learning to walk and carry oneself. Also very good things.

ATTN Buffalo T folks. I need help. Not monetary.

I have a transman in Buffalo who is at his wits end. He is a friend and has been run around by Social Services and every other agency he's tried to go to for help. I need a therapist who can help. You can PM me here at Top Shelf. He has no insurance and barely enough money to get by each month... barely.

This is someone I've known since his birth, the child of one of my best friends who can't help either because he's in Japan and struggling to get by there.

Please, I am begging. Someone point me to someone who can help.

sailing to Girlland

many of you may not be old enough to remember a TV mini-series called "Shogun". The series was interesting for one reason - when the main character finds himself marooned in Japan before Japan had much if any contact with the west, they showed the first couple of episodes without translation - no subtitles, no voice dubs, the Japanese spoke Japanese, and the audience was to be drawn into the main character's confusion.

I just posted my first story here last week, and figured it would be nice to introduce myself. I've been lurking here for a few years, and enjoying some truly excellent stories - thank you all very much. I'd recently changed jobs, and the new position is much less demanding than what I'd done previously (pays more, though ;) The upshot of which is that I've been getting bored, so decided to try my hand at writing, thus my first story.

Impressing my pastor

Well, after church today, I was invited out for coffee with the pastor and a couple of the members of the church, and I got a chance to show them my poetry, and read to them "Dear God", and "A Psalm of Dorothy"

They were blown away.

A couple of them actually teared up.

They asked, begged, for me to send them links so they can have permanent copies, and to pass them on to some places they think would be interested in them.

Pretty neat, yes?

Adding to The Hartlepool Dictionary/ Jenny Pope's Britionary

Jennifer Jane Pope posted this extensive listing of Brit terms/slang a few years ago at Crystal's Storysite. I thought that if one has interest in the Hartlepool Dictionary, they might want to add this to their lexicon as well.

I haven't heard from Jenny in several years, and don't know if she is still writing or, in fact, if she is still among the living. We used to talk quite a bit in the chatroom at Storysite, but she went somewhat quiet owing to some business problems she was having and eventually she just stopped coming by the chat and sort of dropped out of sight.
