I Hate Mother's Day

Blog About:

I'm truly happy to see so many celebrating Mother's day. Mothers go through a lot bringing a new life into the world, nurturing that child, then sending them out to stand on their own two feet. Bravo

BUT

I would much prefer it to be "Mommy's Day." Any genetic female with all her pieces parts working correctly can become a mother. It takes someone special to be a Mommy.

WHY do I hate it? It is widely acknowledged that my soon-to-be-ex wife never was, never will be a Mommy. She freely admits this.

Back in January 2011, I couldn't believe I'd written episode 1234 of Bike. I wondered if I'd get to 2345. Now I know the answer. Why? is probably best not asked. Astonishingly, there are one or two people still reading it - still, there's no accounting for taste.

My best wishes to all my readers and thank you for encouraging and supporting me this far. I'm not making any predictions about 3456 even I might have run out of ideas by then - or will I?

Broken Cup = Dana International

Dana International won EuroVision in 98. She had a long hard emotionally bruising fight getting to the contest and then another to win. However if one read the story of her life they would understand why this amazing woman never quit. Her music is outlawed in most Muslim nations and yet is the most pirated music in those same nations. She sings and speaks fluently four languages.

Many years back Broken Cup was written and inspired by Miss International and all those like her. To know and experience the world is to be able to write about it even if we write in fiction for fun.

A question for our UK/EU members concerning electronics

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Blog About:

Author:

I was reading up about obsolete electronics today, as I am wont to do, when I started looking into SCART connections. It specifies that these were primarily a European thing, and I've honestly never seen one in the US, but reading about them it's obvious they had superior video quality to anything available here in the US prior to component, though for the life of me I can't seem to find information on WHY they didn't pick up in the US.

So, anybody know why? I'd like to know, if just to sate my curiosity.

Found a story the other day and lost the link to it. It starts off with a mother and her son taken captive by a serial sexual assault prison escapee. They are tied up in an old shed and both are repeatedly raped and other assault crimes. He had decided to kill them both but the police arrived just in time. Mother and son are both severely traumatized.

Okay okay. I admit. I've hardly read it all. I probably haven't even scratched the surface when it comes to what's out there to read. The problem is that most of it, doesn't appeal to me. I often even start reading a story, and then a few chapters in I'm like. Meh! Usually only because the main character suddenly starts fawning over guys. Yes I know. Kind of a lame reason to suddenly not like a story. That's just me though.

Funny idea

I´ve just seen some basketball match on TV and had funny idea. What if some disortographic wizard misspelled basketball as bastetball? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bastet) What would consequences be? Would all players turn into furry cats playing with ball? How would they cope? I´m quite tempted to turn this into story somehow... though I´m not sure if it is enough as story base. What do you think? I´d appreciate your comments.
Thank you.

So, in working on a story, I've seen the need to educate myself somewhat in Engineering. I am thinking of a super metal that I will call Xsteel and is roughly ten times stronger than high carbon steel, and about 1/10th the weight. There will also be repulsors that use electricity to produce thrust and using about 40Kw will generate around 60 hp in draw bar thrust.

I've flown several light planes that had around 100 Hp +or- but I have no idea what thrust they produce, and it is probably not linear when compared to speed.

Today Puddingtang helped me spot a spelling error I missed. It was one of those silly things where the auto-correct and spellchecker took one of my scrambled words and replaced with one that was spelled right, but it still wasn't the right one.

It was suggested I turn off that function. However, I'm dyslexic and without it, ... well, it's not pretty!

I received this reply. "Dyslexics tend to be both clever and creative."

So, for this week, and this week only, Wrestling Against Myself is priced at .99 cents to send a message to Amazon that yes, transgender fiction can sell and should be featured prominently. Today, Sat 3rd May 2014 - the Telegraph Sports section has an article by Simon Briggs about their transgender 'fa'afafine' centre-half Jaiyah Saelua and her skills and effort in the team. The film was supposed to be about the nearly farcical American Samoa football (soccer) team.

Quote "How useful this film could be in breaking down the blinkered culture of professional football. Even by the standards of its peers, the sport suffers from alarmingly primitive values. ..... It is hard to imagine a better role model for this stiflingly masculine game"

Yes, sure the more passable you are the better it is if you simultaneously load the feminine wiles and deportment routine. I have had the worst problem in tuning my approach to become sweet and endearing without actually flirting.

A few years ago, I read part of a story (I don't think it was on BC but I could be wrong) in which a boy and girl were in a school (I think) library, talking. The girl suddenly ran off, leaving the boy wondering what had happened. He followed the girl who had run into the toilets. He wnet in after her and asked what was wrong, I think she was reluctant, at first, to tell him why she had run off the way she did. eventually, though, she did tell him that she'd had a period (first?) and was embarrassed about it. She also needed clean clothes as what she was wearing was blood stained.
