I thought people might appreciate this poem

Some of you will know it already. Not directly about gender, but about truth and appearance. It is by the English poet, John Masefield.

An Epilogue

I have seen flowers come in stony places,
And kind things done by men with ugly faces,
And the Gold Cup won by the worst horse at the races,
So I trust, too.

John Masefield (1878-1967) was British Poet Laureate from 1930 until his death. His work is now rather neglected, quite unjustly. Probably his two best known poems are 'Cargoes' and 'Sea Fever'; he also wrote longer, narrative poems and novels.
