Interesting visit for a sonogram

Just got back from a sonogram. I went to the new Kaiser West Side Hospital. They set my appointment for the third floor. I checked in as usual using my male ID and the reaction was admirable. I was wearing white Capris and an all in one top consisting of a black cami, trimmed in lace and an open front over shirt in a multicolor print. The lady doing the check in didn't blink and just checked me in. She then walked me back to the waiting area.

They do mammograms through the same doors. There was a woman talking with a hospital volunteer when I got there, they each said hi to me as I sat down. The volunteer left and a short time later, a young lady opened the doors, looked a two of us. Then looking at me, she asked, "Are you here for a mammogram?" It was the other lady. So I said, "No."

Made my day. She saw me as a woman.

The rest of the appointment was interesting. When they hadn't called me for my procedure fifteen minutes after the appointment time, I went back to the check in desk and told them. A different lady was there, and asked to see my Kaiser card, looked me up and again didn't blink because the computer identified me as male. She then called the technician who was scheduled to do my sonogram and discovered that they were over booked and had move my appointment to the first floor. She then escorted me two floors down, making conversation all the way. As we got there the technician was just coming out of the door and called my male name. She professionally smiled and took me back to the procedure room. As she did my sonogram she made conversation with me.

I'm loving Kaiser more and more. The more I deal with the staff, the better I like it.
