I know I've been updating slowly these last several months, and I know those of you that care know why. (namely, a book in the works and Whateley academy generation 2.)
I just thought that if you had a burning desire to read something I wrote, a need to read something new by me (or at least new to you) I'd point out that the first part of the origin for my gen 2 character (some 20k words of goodness) is now up on the new Crystal Hall site. If you already knew and read, carry on... if not, well, you're invited to.
So it's done. As of today, the unedited version of the book I've been working on is finished and sent to doppler. It's rough, but initial feedback was promising.
Now I'm staring at vagrants, as well as staring at another story idea not yet seen. We shall see what happens.
Well this is it, the last one for awhile, permissions have been given where necessary and Vagrants is now up on Kindle; the last little bird has left the nest, hopefully to fly very free.
A couple of questions really, about where I should go from here.
To those who do not like to read blogs or posts about crass fiscal concerns, A warning: this post is full of them, please don't read if you are offended by such.
Alright, the first 4 chapters plus the extra chapter (which I had originally discarded as stating the obvious regarding some of the plot) is now up on kindle, as "Room in Hell" book 1.
My submission speed is likely to slow, because I have lost internet. I am currently at my local library writing this. not only can i not live at the library, the unstable fung shui of my household has taken a dive due to the lack of internet, so my own writing has slowed. Please be patient with me.
As a side note, STILL no answer from amazon. Is there some secret I'm missing here? Some way to force them to at least tell me "no, your story sucks and we won't publish it!"?
So I sent in a story to amazon...4 weeks ago. No response yet other than the automated response letting me know they got the submission. I know supposedly they have 2 more weeks or so to go before I'm supposed to worry, but I can't help myself.
To add to this, a fan recently edited RiH 10. The editing job was very well done, very professional and I in no way mean to imply that I don't appreciate it. However the editing did make
clear the astonishing number of grammatical flaws inherent within my writing style... flaws I'm positive the story I submitted a month ago shares.
