It makes almost 3 years since I decided to 'join up' here. (going at 2y and 45 weeks at the moment).

Still no solution to any of my problems (see previous blogs) Just wanted to thank you peepz for
cheering me up with your stories and the few mails I received. You peepz together with a few other
online friends are what keeps me hoping for better days and not just plain giving up and 'freezing'
everthing out. Okay my pets also helped with that :).

Thanks

Karin Bishop on Stardust

Just wanted to say that I've dipped my toe in the waters at Stardust. Some PMs have asked about early writings and so I've posted "Cross-Country". It's kinder and gentler, in keeping with Stardust policies, and it's one of my earlier TG stories. Re-reading before posting surprised me about some of the tropes and elements I've used later, but there are still some nice people in it. If you have comments or critiques, let me know here on BCTS rather than Stardust because I'm more comfortable with the BCTS system.

Enjoy the story!

People vs Deathstalker corps.

Some of you said some harsh things to me the other day about my last chapter which is unfortunate because you didn't have a clue where i was going with it and is wasn't some P.O.S femdom crap.

Actually those girls were all in Chris's shoes the year before. It was just a hazing like in college and Chris was going to refuse(yes the mining on an airless moon was a total bluff) till they finally call his mom and ....oops guess what shes was an SX-98 candidate(the old version) who would eventually convince him.

I'm sure you'll all have noticed that it has been far too long since the previous chapter of Somewhere Else Entirely was posted. I've finally managed to get the next one up... I ought to be back to a reasonable schedule now, although these days you never know.

I thought I'd explain why there's been such a long delay. Oh, all right, this is a grovelling apology combined with specious excuses why I haven't been writing. Satisfied now?

Comments.

They can be a good thing, and a bad thing, you know.

And no, not the ones I get.

I recently commented on a story that hurt someone I regard quite highly, though it wasn't meant to do that. I regret that. A lot.

You know who you are. I don't expect you to come and tell me it's okay, because it isn't.

All I ask is the you find it in your heart to forgive me in time. Not right now, or in the next few weeks or months. Just in time.

The upshot here is to let all of you know to consider what you say in comments very carefully before you post them.

My Story Bridges and Brandon.

I've been toying with something all day. I wrote Brandon standing back for the love to happen between a woman he was in love with and the woman she was falling for more than him who was also someone he loved more than blood family even if they'd never happen.

So...when two of my comments fro to really great girls (Hey Dorothy! Hey Lora!) mentioned what I've been toying with I though I'd actually put this out there for you all.

What kind of person should/would you like to see Brandon with. I'm not passing the buck but just wanting your take/s I have an Idea but I'd love to see yours.

I've been re-reading this series and wondered if there'd be any interest in me doing another episode. The reason I haven't for a long time is that I find it harder to write than my other series, in places it's a bit intense emotionally.

Anyway, if there's enough interest I'll think about writing some more.

Grooming of children

Some of my stories touched on child abuse and rape. I will spare my comments here, linking to a BBC report on organised grooming, but I will make one comment, in response to a man interviewed on the programme. His point was that the girls should not be out at that time of night, so it is the fault of the parents. Perhaps I am a little naive...but when did raping a child become the fault of anyone other than the rapist?

Sorry, people, but very, very angry.

That dialectic bit

I received a criticism of sorts a while ago because I apparently used words that did not fit within the North American experience. Of course, the world is a larger place....but I am at the moment trying to write a very different idiom, that of Geordie. I have been trawling through youtube to find some examples, so I hope this helps. One thing I did find was a whole series of videos by a voice coach, but the one he did for geordie was actually, er, crap. So...

I have lived through my emotional pain, first when i was 12 and found i did not fit into society. Then at 21 when i was raped, and again when I lost my mother, the only person to ever accept me fully as nothing but her child with unconditional love, at 29.

I am a girl by sufferance

I am a girl by sufferance. I was not born a girl, didnt have a girlhood to learn the nuances of being a girl. I do not believe I really "pass" as a girl by any objective standard. So I am a girl by sufferance. My girlhood can be taken from me by words - "Him", "Sir" or my male name. It can be taken from me by actions - isolation, rejection, contempt. No "natural" girl will ever know what that feels like, to be "tolerated" like I'm some crazy person that no one has the energy to argue with.

I was just starting to visit this site when I heard a train whistle from a train on tracks about a half mile from my home and realized there are those who work on Thanksgiving. Some of them should and we should be thankful they are working today. There may be a skeleton crew for some of them. I may have forgotten a group or two:

Police
Firefighters
Nursing Home Employees
Hospital Workers
Military

Airline Employees
Taxi Drivers
Railroad Employees
Bus Drivers

As so often is the case with people who post serial or continuing stories I have failed to keep my story MOTW going past the last entry. Understanding Spouse and I are heading to check out the Tampa Bay area before moving there next month. The usual turmoil of such things will make any writing I do very problematic. This also means if I'm out of contact for a few days, don't worry everything is fine! a day in "male drag"

Well, I would like to share my day in "male drag". It started when I got home from work at 7 am, and got into the only male dress outfit I have - pants. dress shirt, and suit jacket, and waited until it was time to pick up my ex and my daughter. Once we got there, we found out we had a couple of hours to wait until the ceremony, but my ex had to get into the line, so I started to wish I had grabbed a nap before we left, as I found being on my feet for that long rather tough.

Anyway the clip is fun although the camera didn't appear to get the sound.

As a woman, I enjoy many types of things in my life. I love a good walk, bike ride, road trip, chocolate cake, fettuccine Alfredo, my fish tail skirt, my new hearing aids, a clean kitchen, the smell of a bubble bath, newly done nails, and the days that I can wield my magic and make my dozens of hairs look like a head full.

I like a good story, both if I have written it, and if someone else has. I like science fiction, historical fiction, history, and the bible.

The impression I got was that she was acting like a teenage girl.

What I would like to ask people is (I don't want to insult- this is a genuine question), are women who take hormones in a continual state of puberty or do you think she was imbalanced?

Both thought I should share it.

We know more about being a man than we want, and know less about being a woman than we need.

Poignancy of a picture

You might have seen the photo that Jodi Bieber took of Bibi Aisha, if not then do look at the one in the link below. Bibi is an Afghan girl who left her husband and he followed her and cut off her nose and ears. It sounds barbaric, which it is, but the photo conveys a woman who has an inner serenity despite her mutilation.

She now lives in NY city, so possibly might have some sort of plastic surgery eventually. If we tend to feel dissatisfaction with our physical appearance, imagine what she goes through every time she looks in a mirror.

will the new proposed billa SOPA affect this site if it becomes law

I have read a little about the new Stop Online Piracy Act bill and it seems disturbing. Just with a letter or a compliant by someone they could threaten any site. They cant take it down per say but it may as well have if they can force google and any search engine to remove the said site with just a letter, cut the site from its ad revenue. And there seems to be more to it than that but its above my feeble understanding of how the web works. BUt they can all do this without any judge being involved or finding anyone guilty.

Geneticists gone wild!

Hiyo! your favourite little old News Agrigator Me, with sciency stuff on Physical Sex development... a fascinating read from Boing Boing.

Gender isn’t a simple thing. A person can be male, female, both, neither, and more–and that identity doesn’t have to have anything to do with the particular genital plumbing they were born with.

But the plumbing itself–the biological sex, rather than gender or socio-cultural sex–is also a lot more complicated (and interesting) than we often give it credit for.

Heard this on BBC Radio 4 this morning while I was having a shower (I rise late now I don't need to go to work :) ) Evan Davies is investigating 'Deception' as a topic and in this case he's interviewing Penny, a MtF TS about how she felt compelled to hide her true nature for so long. It's a very sympathetic treatment which seems to reflect the experience of many here from what I've read.

She was born in 1951, 11 years after me, so I know only too well the atmosphere and attitude of the general public to unconventional gender and sexual conditions, for want of a better phrase.
