Well it's great to be home. I just got back from my sisters house in alabama last night. Man it was boring down there. I took my nephew to school and back every day. Round trip it was an hour and 40 minites. Other than that I could not do much. I was broke. No money to spendy. Then my sister only had dial up for interner and her computer is like 10 years old. It took 10 minites to check my email. I went to a books a million store to use their wifi and it cost me $4.95. I had to keep entering my password for the day. it sucked.

Please excuse my youthful exuberance in commenting twice on the same story; it was exquisite, though, wasn't it? Also, I added some things and edited some things in my latest chapter of Providence - The Valley to make it more cohesive and read better, I hope. My apologies to those who have already read the piece, and thank you so much for supporting me not only through my literary endeavors but my health problems as well.

Ear Bug warning?

Now, I don't want to seem too paranoid on this and I know that there is no proof yet. I recently got one of those Cell Phone Ear Bug thingies, and I just love it. Today, I went to lunch with a girlfriend who got one much before I did.

At breakfast, she saw my Bug and told me that she did not think it was good to wear it all the time because hers caused earaches. I said ok but left mine in but just a few minutes ago, I developed an ear ache.

Sometimes, I kinda doubt my femininity. I mean, I grew up with images of women who were just as strong as the men they loved, but to be honest, I think I’d have to call myself a Warrior woman if I’m any sort of woman at all. Think Red Sonja, except more militantly feminist.

I suppose today at the dollar store would be a perfect example of what I mean.

I have been having the itch to write for a few months but nothing really gelled in my mind.

I have gone back to school and I have my GPA up to over a 3.7. I am trying very hard to get a *real* job instead of the dead-end mistake I have now.

So, since I am home recovering from a UTI I decided to start hashing something out.

Working Relations is just a springboard to get into a good story. The transgender aspects fall in later.

I've just posted the title page for a new story I'm working on. I know, I know, what about the other ones that have been languishing? Well, I'm still trying to get to them, too. Venus Cursed! is taking up more time than I anticipated, especially since I've got two side stories going now! I'm not abandoning POWYHL or KittyHawk, really! I'll try to alternate or something and get something out on each over the next few months. I can't promise anything, of course, but I will try!

I'm not a real doctor; I only portray one in my stories, but if I were, I would recommend to those walking wounded around here (especially to mi sorella Sephrena) to follow this prescription. Drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest, take two tabbies and call me in the morning!

Just a quickie to let you know that I am on holiday until 13th of September and I won't be posting much before then.

I hope to get back into the swing of things as soon as I get back.

When I started reading TG stories on the web many years ago every story I read was interesting since I had never read stories with TG protagonists before. Finally someone I could identify with who was dealing with things that mattered to me.

After a decade or so this identification is still important so I still read TG stories but now the story has to provide something beyond the mere basics - the tropes of TG fiction such as self-discovery, the process of acquiring the clothes and paraphernalia, the salon experience, the shopping trip, the talk with the parents, the visit to the shrink... You know the list.

I now believe that in order to please long-time readers such as myself there are three main ways to make a TG story interesting.

I had to do last weekend. I must digress.

For the last 20 or so years of my life, I've been in with a bunch of guys who I loved like brothers. We've been there for one another and they are all great guys. I felt privileged to have been accepted by them as a friend. Almost every weekend we'd do stuff together...movies, RPG gaming, cards, trips to Buffalo to a place called The Super Flea, and much more.

Being somewhat Bipolar (still being ruled in or out by doc) I have my moments. As you may have read from the previous few days, I can be glib and witty, or sardonic, and I apologize for my swings. Today I am devastated. I took a job for which I am vastly overqualified since I have been out of work for four years. I haven't been able to return to counseling as a career for a variety of reasons, and I have expressed my fear on more than one occasion that I may never get back.

You might find this site a handy way to keep up with the fire.

The WW2 “forces sweetheart”, Vera Lynn, is back in the Top Twenty at the age of 92.

Just did a search and couldn't find my site on Google. It only came up with my site when I put in very specific keywords that I knew couldn't be in any other combination on other websites. But things like "Transgender fiction" didn't list me in the first three hundred returns. Same for "transsexual fiction", "transgender stories", "transsexual stories" and then combinations of stories with only story.

Damnit.

I must say that for a while today, I thought that I was going to spend some time on the Psych ward. I had just read where the 11 year old who spent 18 years with her captor was feeling extremely guilty about having identified with her captor.

Reading "Venus Curse" today caused another shock wave in the force for me. For a while I felt very traumatized by it.

The media haven't finished milking this story, but this one from today's Guardian is more interesting than most. Perhaps things are beginning to change in Africa. I hope so.

She's called Izzy and is a tortoiseshell and white shorthair. I'll do a photo when I get a chance - Bonzi of course doesn't know yet that there's a another female here to nag him, but he'll find out when he gets home. She's busy (I know busy Izzy but I didn't name her) exploring the place. I hope within a few days they'll have settled down together without blood on the ceiling.

Share the frustrations of carefully, or even occasionally, cleverly wording a comment to a blog or story, pressing submit only to see a fault notice come up and one's efforts disappear into the void?

I suspect the major culprit is MS and their idiot offspring Internet Exploder, although it does tend to happen more on this site than others I visit.

Obviously it's happened again hence this blog.

For those who like my work. Those who do I thank you. Prince to Princess 6 is now in the works. A childhood friend died a little after I put 5 up. I comepetely lost the will to write, I had to kick my azz to get my self back on track. Thank you to anyone who has read it and is really in to it.

There's a subcategory under the Whately Academy page called Whateley Fanfiction that was almost completely untenanted.

Thank you everyone for reading the sequel to "An Incremental Journey". I notice that a large number of readers have gone back to that story as well as reading the sequel, "Cynthia and the Reluctant Girlfriend". I know that is an assumption. Someone has been even so kind as to vote on the predecessor. Thank you so much. Now, if we can just get some comments on "Cynthia and the Reluctant Girlfriend". They are most helpful for future stories.

It doesn't really matter to anyone but me, I know, but the first story I ever posted to BCTS, Two Roads finally hit 1000 reads/hits today. The story was posted on December 4, 2005, back before voting was even a concept.

In part this milestone was the result of a surge of hits that came about yesterday from Joannebarbarella's blog about old stories, which led to a record breaking 22 hits in the past two days. Thanks Joanne!

So, since I can't set off some fireworks here in my homestate, consider this blog to be my celebration of that milestone.

I spent last night at the Epilepsy Center of the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. After a delightful hour of getting hooked up to electrodes and such, I enjoyed and hour and a half of uninterrupted writing, and I was glad for it; I can't wait to write when I'm not writing, and I can't wait to finish when I am. The most curious thing; the technician was a nice young man who actually had the same kind of face as Ben Kelly, my counselor character and alter-ego of Katie Kelly.

Sorry to everyone here who has been waiting for the continuation of one or more of my series.

30 days remain, before I arrive at the Southern Comfort Conference, the biggest TG convention in the world, and yet...

One is from the financial pages which I don't normally read about some gender bending soap opera, which someone might know more about. I'm tempted to write to them advertising my own, here.

Just a post to let everyone know I finally found a job. Over the next two weeks I am my family will be settling into a new apartment. I ended up having to go out to the Midland-Odessa area to find a job, but it will do nicely I think.

With the issue of job hunting finally off the table, I am able to devote time and mind to writing again. I am hoping to have chapter 20 of A Little Fox Tale completed by the end of next week.

A Piece of String

Six months ago, every night I prayed that I would not wake up in the morning. I was utterly crushed, knew it and wanted out. I was finished.

I don't know how relevant this blog will be to anyone who isn't reading my story PLAY NICE, but...

Reading Jill Micayla's recent blog caused me to think. She felt badly because Terry did not include any of her stories in the contest. Jill suggested she has never been a winner.

In the book of Genesis, Leah says, "Give me children or I will die." Our stories and our characters are our children. When Jill said that her stories sucked, it was said out of frustration and hurt, and likely borne out of the actions of others that were misunderstood or misinterpreted. Nevertheless, it does hurt when our children are ignored; try being a parent when your little girl or boy isn't invited to the party or included in kickball or tag.

Very interesting interview with Richard O'Brien (Rocky Horror) in The Times, where he admits he is T*.

So, if you read my last blog entry, you know I've been waiting (and waiting, and waiting, and waiting) to hear back about a job I interviewed for (and if you didn't read it, you know now).

The 2007 Terry Awards - Final Story List

I created the Terry Awards to celebrate past stories. Older stories are too easily forgotten once they move on to the archives (back pages) and I thought that was a terrible fate.

Okay, so considering the publication, it could have been far worse. These two are friends and I shall inquire as to how on earth they managed to get the Sun to agree to not do their usual tricks with this. All kudos to them, they have more courage than I am sure most folks have.
