Happy St Andrew’s Day

Saltire.jpg

Today, 30th November, is St Andrew’s Day and I would like to send my best wishes to all fellow Scots and those of Scots ancestry here on BC/TS.

How many of us will be tucking into haggis, neeps and tatties at our evening meal tonight? Not forgetting the dram of whisky poured over the haggis as “gravy”.

Slainte mhath,

Gabi.

I like to make photo edits of myself

Hi,

I wanted to share a few photos with everyone. I rarely take pictures of myself while dressed. However, I love to take pictures of myself and edit them to make me look more feminine. It's great fun for me, and is a nice outlet.

As I tell others, you can still have a beard and be feminine and pretty. One need not be passable, or think of gender in terms of male and female.

Please, enjoy!

We Shall Be Free

There is line from one of my favorite Garth Brooks songs called "We Shall Be Free" It says "When we're free to love anyone we choose. When this world's big enough for all different views. When we're all free to worship from our own kind of pew. We shall be free". This idea should have been in evidence here before some people let nasty comments ruin the free expression of opinion. Getting to the point of offense is very sad for everyone involved . We live in a country where we are free to express opinions.

I note with interest the new "Ignore User" button on all posts, blogs and comments.

Frankly, it makes me queasy.

It's not an intellectual reaction, exactly, but more of an emotional one on my part. It seems like some horrid level of overkill. I can't imagine that any adult here is so immature as to be unable to set aside a little irritation now and again and still be able to function without needing a mechanism to turn someone else invisible to them.

Ponderings

Okay, the next section of Sorority Boy is done but I am wondering about the reaction to it. Sadly a lot of this is taken from a number of different sources, much of which in anecdotal. Since I a working on making this as true as possible, I am worried if readers will even believe what I have.

Sometimes these issues make release dates fall backwards.

Hi,

I am a native French speaker, and so I never know if my guesses about English are correct or not, I wanted your enlightened opinion. I want to know what you think about a special buddhist text I'm studying currently.

So, it is the Guru Yoga of the Longchen Nyngtik Ngá¶ndro. One of the preliminaries to Vajrayana. And those verses comes from the empowerment part of the practice.

From the letter OM in the Guru's forehead, radiant and shimmering like the moonlight,
Rays of light stream out and enter my forehead.

About me: (part 2)

Among the things in my life that I considered normal were:
My mother gave birth to me when she was 15. At that time, my father was 22. They did marry, but divorced when I was eight months old.

Another year would go by before my sister was born as a result of a relationship without the benefit of marriage.

Over the past few weeks I have been feeling the blues. The career path I enjoyed heading for is no longer possible due to my physical limitations. I am left with trying to figure out where I go from here and it is really discouraging. A couple of nights ago, I attended a Memorial service for a teacher in High School. She was just 43 years old. As I sat there listening to the eulogies that were given, I began to ask myself "What have I done to make a difference in the lives of others? I turn 39 years old tomorrow and I have not accomplished much of anything compared to Ms. Toy.

30,000 word limit for submissions in one lump

We're having some problems with the Drupal software, it seems that stories above about 30,000 words or so are not being properly processed. In order to be reasonably sure you don't run into the problem, try to keep your story segments to no more than about 20,000 words for safety. If it's only a bit over that, go ahead and try but some older stories that are larger than 30,000 words are also having problems.

That continues today as I face the implications and aftermath of that pain, but not without hope and certainly not without friends like yourself.

Right after the first of this year, I was so out of money, and nearly starving that I began to contemplate being a Prostitute. It left me feeling bereft, used and extremely ashamed of my conduct. So, it was that months of near starvation really altered things for me.
