Edeyn Okay, just so folks know what's going on... My typing speed has slowed. Dramatically.

It's infuriating.

Anyway, I am still working on things, but I can type somewhere between half and 2/3 as fast as I used to be able to do. Faster than that is not even a possibility most of the time, and when it is a possibility, it hurts to do it. A lot. Like me cradling my arm and weeping uncontrollably for about an hour painful.

So, yeah, I am getting back to the Sk8r Grrls reboot -- the broken arm kind of interrupted that rudely. I am also going to be picking back up with the projects I've let fall by the wayside in the last 18 months as my life has been slightly out of control. Things were... um... well, let's just say I'm getting help for my issues and my other projects will be picked back up.

Now, The projects out there that need attention other than Sk8r Grrls are Dear Diary, Scenes of Hope, Carlotti's Way, Girlwind, Noircoleptic, Scrabble, Chau, Lessons (stories with no continuity at all from one to another, but the same principal names are used -- Hannah and Aimee) and The Violet Ajah. This last is kind of a relief as I finally have my notebooks and can start editing this monster. And I'm working on a superhero story with a good friend. And I'm working on a Potterverse story that will be post-Voldy, set in NA, not involving any of the characters from canon. On top of this... I also now have my Persephone Pertwill notes and will be working on more Intrepid Heroes over on Fictioneer! and a Firefly fanfic set during the days leading up to the Battle of Serenity Valley and the next couple of years after the War is over as a requested piece for a friend on Ravelry. And I have 4 entries to the SCHEHERAZADE’S FAá‡ADE that I need to finish polishing up before the deadline.

What I'm trying to say is... I'm working as fast as I am now able, and it really is so much slower than I'm used to that it's disheartening. Please be patient with me. I also get worn out a lot easier and more quickly now...

So. Yeah. I'm going to be posting a little later today with a new style of story. Kind of experimental for me. Hopefully today. May not be finished when I want it. Like I said, fatigue easier. Okay, I said, "worn out," not fatigue, but come on, you know what I meant! Oh, and for those that hate series? This new style is a solo as far as I know.

Wasn't it Jim Henson who said, "Without faith, I am nothing," after all? No, wait, that was God... Sorry, common mistake to make...

Voice Recognition Software

Over the holidays we had a family gathering. One of my sons asked another, who is a "genius" at a Mac store -- what the most popular applications were for iPhones. He said, "By far, Voice Recognition."

I laughed because I've tried that software many times and found it unusable. He immediately spoke about 100 words into his iPhone and let me check it. NO ERRORS.

There are some good ones...

but of course the ones that are worth getting are the most expensive, and they still have issues with homonyms and homophones. Some of the test sentences I have used:

  • Please take this down and write a letter to Mr. Wright the right way.
  • They're going to lose their place in the line over there.
  • It's too cliché that it takes two to tango.
  • Where is something to wear?
  • Mister Fister's sister, Sue, enjoys tongue twisters -- she should as she sells sea shells in her sea shore store simply called Sue's Sea Shore Sea Shell Store.
  • ... usually a few other tongue twisters that come to mind.

I have yet to find one that reads them all correctly, but the best ones usually only miss 2-3 words in the lot.
