Hi, everyone!

It's time to start the 2009 Terry Awards. Actually, I'm a little late starting them but the first half of January has been very eventful. I'll be progressing slowly too, because I'm very busy these days.

Before I begin the slow process of posting my preliminary story links, I want to make something perfectly clear. The Terry Awards is not a contest! It's simply a way to bring attention to popular stories that have fallen from the main page of this wonderful website. It's like the random solos and various other links that help give readers a nudge in the direction of the archives.

I organize stories by genre and length, and I only include those stories with the highest vote totals in most award categories. It's the same process that many readers use when deciding whether to read a story. I go a little farther though by requesting story nominations from you, the readers of Big Closet.

One of the award category section consists solely of nominated stories. If I get too many nominations in one specific category, I'll weed them out by vote totals, but that hasn't in past Terry Awards. So please don't be down if your story isn't in the initial story lists. If you feel your story deserves more attention, nominate it! There's a good chance your story will be listed and if that happens, there's a very good chance that your story will get a lot more attention.

Once again, I ask authors to verify that their stories are correctly categorized if they see any of them in the story lists that I'll be posting. I'll also remove a story from the list if requested for whatever reason. But I hope that doesn't happen.

Thanks for your kind attention. It'll take me several days before I start posting any story lists. I have to generate them first! So keep a sharp eye out.
