So, after a while of not writing (and other real life changes) I have found my muse again and am going to try to be actively writing and posting once again.
Over the last few years, I’ve started to medically transition, my wife and I own a home now (which, admittedly, eats at writing time) among other health issues that I now deal with. I have time to write.
The two stories I’m going to focus on mainly are Emma’s Story: School Days and In Her Fathers Footsteps. I hope to have a new chapter of Footsteps up this week.
So I've been away for a while... I'm planning on working on some of my unfinished works as I have time but I wouldn't expect things to happen very fast. I'm not sure where the various works stand and I will have to re-read them to try to figure out where i was going with them in the first place...
After a somewhat lengthy hiatus, I have returned. I'm currently working on the next chapter of Emma's Story, and hopefully will have it up in the next few days.
As a result of the storms that swept through the Ohio Valley on Friday night, we have been without power for about 36 hours now. They are currently giving estimates of 5-7 days for 90% restoration. Hopefully it will be sooner than that. I will be poking my head in as power and cell service allows.
I just refreshed the my stories page and noticed that Chapter 1 of My Mistake has received 20,000 reads. If someone would have told me that it would eventually receive that when I first posted it in 2008, I wouldn't have believed you...
Thank you to all of the people that have read it and left comments. Rest assured that another chapter is coming soonish...
I haven't seen this appear anywhere here yet, so I don't think that the word has spread here yet....
Spread the word to attempt to halt ABC's ill advised comedy "Work it". This show, if it makes it to Air, will poke fun at the real issues that Trasngender people face in gaining acceptance in life. This show needs to be stopped before it goes any further...
I always find it interesting when characters have revelations about things that the author (or authoress) has known for some time...
Take for instance Chapter 41 of Mistake, which I am working on in a window not far away from the one that I type this post in. Morgan has finally realized that she's been submitting to Katie for the better part of a year. (Did anyone else see this coming?) Right now the two of them are at the mall, and Katie picked out their clothes when they got up and Katie is wearing pants and Morgan's in a skirt...
So I've been working on my newest story and I've realized that I am actually writing this in a much different way than I've written anything else. I've fallen in love with this way of writing, a way that the software I use makes very easy to write in.
Just so everyone knows, I've decided to take part in Camp NaNoWriMo. This is an 'official' spinoff of NaNoWriMo, and takes place in July and again in August (I'm not sure that I have it in me to go at it twice in a row, but who knows...)
I may delay any writing or posting of My Mistake or Emma's Story until Camp NaNoWriMo is done, but I may not do that either. We will have to see.
I’ve noticed as I look back over the last two months, that I spent more time wearing girls clothes than I did my guy clothes. I would even go out to the store, wearing a pair of Samantha’s jeans and a turtleneck sweater.
Ok, so my first generation MacBook is starting to show it's age, (and routinely frustrates me with it's minuscule 2GB of RAM) and I was looking at using my tax return to replace it.
Just so everyone knows, I have changed my name from Kayla Smith to Samantha Jenkins. I feel that Samantha fits me better than Kayla (and not to mention that since my Zodiac sign changed to a sign that fits me better than Cancer (Now I'm a Gemini) I figure that I should change my name to match how I feel when I'm dressed up.)
I was just looking at my stories page in my account skimming for any new comments, and I happened to notice that Chapter 1 has had over 10,000 reads. I want to say thank you, both for the comments that I've received either attached to the story or in Private Messages. I want to say thank you for putting up with my absences as life got in the way to write.
I haven't forgotten about My Mistake. I've been having some computer issues that needed sorted out, and now that they are I hope to have a chapter up either tomorrow or Friday.
