Hey folks!

Hey folks, for all the years I’ve been reading and loving stories on this site, I never looked into the subtleties of the site. I never noticed the blog function before!

Since I started trying to write for the first time, I thought I’d start a blog as well as an experiment. I can’t promise I will post a lot (I’ve never been good with things like diaries) but I think I’ll give it a try.

I’d like to invite others to ask questions and offer helpful criticisms about the first (hopefully) of my stories and ultimately about me if you want.

Our church sponsors a food bank twice a month. My wife and I volunteer there. There are about 30 volunteers there on any given day. One of the regulars is an older, I say older because she's older than me and I'm pretty old, older Hispanic lady who doesn't speak very much English. Because of the language barrier, I really don't know her enough to more than say hi to her. I don't even know her name.

Vivid Dream Reality Book 2 is now available on Amazon for preorder, released on April 2nd.

Please find below the link for the Amazon page.

I decided to do the preorder thing to give me a chance to start finishing Book 3 and there to not be too big of a gap between releasing Book 2 and Book 3.

okay, so this happened today

I went shopping with Sam and Sharon today, and while in a store Sharon was approached by someone who asked her if she knew the strange individual who was following her daughter, and Sharon said "That's Sam's dad."

So she went and told me, and then I shared it with the cashier as we were checking out, and Sharon said, "He cross-dresses but he is a good guy anyway."

So ... that happened today.

Make of it what you will.

Necessity is delayed...

The next part of Necessity is the Mother of Invention is delayed. Not sure if it's due to the time change, new very comfy desk chair (the old one was getting pretty threadbare and the pneumatic cylinder dropping several inches randomly), or that work has just been that mentally exhausting but in the evenings after work when I would normally spend and hour or two on editing, I found myself falling asleep all this week.

Random Inspirations Round 4

We had family visiting the last two days so sorry for missing my Friday posting schedule on these!

This next week's 3 words are:

Hand
Needless
Route

A quick breakdown for 'em:

Hand. An extremity used for grasping and moving things. To pass something to another. A selection of usable options. Helping hand, hand of cards, the hand we're dealt, idle hands, hand of fate.

Needless. Pointless. Inane. Meaningless. Or, alternatively, "needless" could apply as in someone or something without any needs, something complete.

The Value of Writing

I was digging through my stories just now and am amazed that several of them have gotten over 100 kudos! Thank you.

One of them, "Balmoral" was published in June last year. :)

I had started to write several other chapters to "Hala's Snow Day", but with RL wearing me down, had sort of abandoned the effort. I hope that the files are still lying where I left them, assuming that Microsoft has not done anything untoward with them. I still dislike the way that win10 manages files, but I have not one single gene of computer nerd in me.

The Good and the Bad

The sewer in my basement has backed up... again! Fortunately, I managed to catch it pretty early and nothing important inside the house is damaged, but I did have to go to the laundromat to wash all the clothes that got sewage on them... NOT FUN! The last time it backed up, a lot of stuff got thrown out and nothing important is stored down there. Unfortunately, this time the back up was caused by the main sewer line collapsing. Which means I can't use my toilet or shower or really use any running water at this point.

Another Friday, another trio of words!

This week's words are:

Rotten
Development
Accessible

Rotten. Spoiled, wasted, or otherwise worthless. Could be in reference to a terrible person, or more lightheartedly toward a character who is doted upon (spoiled rotten.) Other options could include simply having the character in a "rotten" situation, or perhaps dealing with outdated or worthless materials or foodstuffs. Alternatively, the story could be about the Sex Pistols.

Interesting Stats

I clicked on a solo that looked interesting ("Okay Okay" by Andrea von Tease), and noticed some interesting stats:

    Total views: 1,111

Of course, this happens often in fiction with a humorous bent. The movie "Murder by Death" had a Mr. Lionel Twain, living in a mansion with the address, "22 Twain". A radio episode of Abbott and Costello, guest-starring Peter Lorre, featured a sinister (hospital?) where they visited, at midnight ("when the moon is down"), at the address, "1313 Grave's End Road".

Semi-Identical Boy/Girl Twins.

There might be a story idea here. Semi-identical twins, an apparent rarity, share three-quarters of their DNA, vs. 100% for fully-identical twins, or 50% for fraternal twins. While identical twins always have the same birth-gender, semi-identical twins can be a boy/girl pair.
Are these twins more likely to be trans? Intersex? Have a special psychic connection?

Congratulations, It’s Twins. The Doctor Is Perplexed.

Rather than plugging away at my edit jobs for the two BCTS conversions I'm working on, though, I have a number of never-before-seen stories in the works I'm focusing on first, including the one I've chosen to focus on right now, a silly little short(ish) romance novel.

So now I am waiting to see how the next few months (max of 4) go . Best case scenario will have me completely free of at least the bankruptcy (instead of doing the the rest of the 7 years ( 5,5 to go))..

So little bit of light at the end of this particular tunnel.

I think it has been very apparent that I have been struggling with the Cynthia Chronicles series. For that reason, I will be drawing it to a close shortly, or at least relatively shortly. I've been working on the final episode for a while; at least in fits and starts. It may take a while to make it right. This may take some major rewriting of a previous episode or two. I wrote the ending many years ago, but removed it from here because there needed to be many more things to be tidied up.

Looking for a long forgotten story

Hey folks,

After a long time I find myself longing to re-read a story. How nice, you might say, but why put that in a blogpost? Well, the thing is that I remember neither the title nor the author. What I do remember is the following:

The title I think was a greek word
Our protagonist starts out as a witness, goes undercover as a girl, helped by a special division of spies/super cops. These are all trans girls, but the company gives them very high end tools, indistinguishable from the real thing. Near the end of the story she becomes part of the organisation officially, and gets to live her life as a girl. If I remember right, she set herself up to be a witness with that exact result in mind.

I've tried to make this one clear before but it's not getting though: Woodcrest is not a forced fem story. I know that in this environment it's what people have come to expect and are looking for around every corner but I want to assure you that my characters are not sadistic, nor do they want to enslave my main character. They're literally just awful people trying to do something good and failing at it because they have no idea how to care about anyone besides themselves. There is character development, but this is a series - it won't be resolved in the first few chapters.
