in pain, but not without hope

Well, despite my continued pain, I am feeling more hopeful. I got a call from a possible workplace, and i am going to check it out tomorrow. I am working on a ret-con story starring Amanda Waller, and hope to make some progress on that front soon. But if you are religious, could you pray that this job thing works out?

Hospital Bed Comedy

Nanay began radiation treatments tonight. During the day she was seen by a great many nurses and doctors. Here's one conversation.

Neurosurgeon Nurse Practitioner- "Why are you here?"

Nanay- "Well, my daughter married an American."

I think everyone can figure out why that exchange is so funny. My wife certainly thought so.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I just can't say that enough!!! I'm stunned, shocked, and amazed by the response to my first story here.

To all that took a chance and read a post by a 'newbie', to those who posted comments, and especially to the ones that sent all of the wonderful PMs, I can't possibly Thank You Enough!

I know that the story is incomplete (so far), and that fact alone can dissuade some from venturing further. With the amount of support, compassion, and understanding that I've recieved I'm more confident than ever that I'll be able to share the rest with all of you.

Musetta's Waltz Update

It's been more than two years since Musetta came to life. Dr. O'Donnell asks her if she has Klinefelter's Syndrome. She didn't know what it was and in the story as originally written it turns out she didn't. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that her having Klinefelters made a lot of sense. It explained her natural appearance and some of her personality. I made some corrections in Chapters 11 and 12 to now reflect that she had this condition. It does nothing to change the story other than to make it a bit more realistic.

Sissy farm 24 Posted

Well, finally got chapter 24 of Sissy Farm posted. Arm is slowly getting better but the cabin fever is serious. At the moment I'm going for walks in the hills around my house and picking blackberries to make Blackberry crumble and custard. (Delicious!!)
It's bloody awkward picking the berries though cos you need both hands to pick them. One to hold the bramble and one to pluck the berries.
That's all for now folks.

Catholic charity's appeal over gay adoption fails

A Roman Catholic adoption charity's appeal to be allowed to discriminate against gay people wanting it to place children with them has been rejected. Catholic Care wanted exemption from new anti-discrimination laws so it could limit services provided to homosexual couples on religious grounds.

The Charity Commission said gay people were suitable parents and religious views did not justify discrimination. The Leeds-based charity said it was "very disappointed".

I'm losing my mind

In my blog post earlier today I did really terrible typos. The word couple became cover in my post. The other typo was 1996, it was supposed to be 2006.

I've been making these crazy typos for at least two years. The worst was when I wrote the man stepped into the elephant instead of elevator.

Coming out

I think I probably shook my Dad today. I finally told him that I have wanted to transition since high school in the mid 70's, and thanks to an analogy by Heather Rose Brown, I think he understands. I used the shoe analogy from "Shoes", the one where you put your right foot in your left shoe, and vice versa, then try to walk. It was great to finally be able to explain how I have felt all my life in a way he understood. Thank you Heather!

A Superhero Challange

Others have commented about the recent trend of transgenderizing comic heroes, but one very obvious candidate has been overlooked. I just introduced my five year old grandson to the Amazing Captain Underpants. The Captain was received with vociferous giggles and typical five year old scatological references.

However, the Captain's tighty-whities struck a wrong note in my crossdressing soul. Anybody want to take up the challenge of a female version of Captain Underpants? With panties and a training bra the female Captain would have twice the Wedgie Power of the male version!

My mother-in-law(Nanay) was admitted to the hospital today. She had a pet scan on Monday and the results showed her thyroid cancer has metastasized to the spine. She's had stage IV cancer since 2006 but this doesn't sound good.

Chapter 13 is posted for the Omega Unicorn

Hello lovers of the sea in the BC Universe

I posted Chapter 13. We have the introduction of Eingana, the Mother of all Sea Dragons. We'll see her again later in Book 1 and in Book 2.

I also updated the Character List as well. This includes Eingana and some other sea dragon names that we will see later. I also included the SRU Wizard as well.

I tried to bring some emotion into this chapter when the people see the ship wreckage and the skeletons of the sea dragons seen near the island for the first time.

California puts same-sex marriages on hold

I've seen a few blog entries over time dealing with California's "Proposition 8" - apparently there's been a last-minute delay in getting it repealed...

A federal appeals court has put same-sex weddings in California on hold while it considers whether the state's gay marriage ban is constitutional.

A three-judge panel in the US Circuit Court of Appeals blocked a lower court's ruling that would have allowed gay marriages to begin on Wednesday.

For those of you who enjoy my scribbles, it might please you to know that our practice nurse thinks I'll live a bit longer, after she checked my leg. It still bloody hurts, especially when standing up from sitting or sitting from standing. Which means I'm on sick leave for the next day or two. Dunno which is worse the boredom from inaction, or the pain when I try to move.

Sitting at a computer probably doesn't help especially when I try to get up afterwards.

Okay, so this is the beginning of a novel length story that I am planning on releasing a chapter a week, probably on Sundays. It may be a little shaky here at first, release wise as I am still dealing with the fallout of the death of my wife's mother and needing to take our daughter up to Ohio for school, so it is going to be a bit crazy for a while. It will calm down and the story will get to you guys.

As the time goes on I'm finding some new bruises and aches and pains, including my left wrist and thumb - both of which I've injured before.

The concern of motorists is breathtaking, they just drove past while I'm standing at the roadside dripping blood everywhere. Thankfully, I was out with friends, so managed to get home and do some first aid to myself.

Coming up next is a shorter story called Face of the Enemy.

After that is another new Center story I'm writing called Weight Problem. Becca and company will appear at some point in the story, including one of her friends that left with Gideon. That person is going to play a prominent role in this one.

Then I'll pump out another Becca, hopefully around the same length as the first.

I'm hoping that all of these stories will take place in the months between the end of my first story and the beginning of Off Center.

I wonder if that matches reality? Do fathers struggle more with a child who feels like they are transgendered? If so, what could we as a community do to help them? Just a thought.

I was pleased to see that today Episode 1 achieved 6,000 hits. Not all of the 6.000 read it of course but arrived at it either by curiosity, mischance, or poor typing skills. I even went there myself several times. Nearly 4,000 have to date dropped in on the Epilogue yet only 2,000 hit on Episode 17, whereas over 4,500 landed on the shores of Episode 14.

Commenting on your own stories… I have noticed that a number of authors on this site have started replying to every readers comment on a story with a comment of their own. Since we can no longer vote for stories, this tends to give a totally misleading impression of the popularity of a story. For example I see a story with 20 votes and think "this might be good," and browse the comments, only to find that ten out of twenty have been posted by the author. This is a misleading practice, somewhat akin to a politician repeatedly voting for him/herself. I have heard from many authors who don't do this that they regard these "reply-comments" as cheating.

Chapter 9 is posted for the Omega Unicorn

Hello Sci-fi fans at BC!

In this chapter I created eleven new worlds for your imagination to run wild with. Use Google Sky to find their location.
