Today's Kindle Buffet ends page 3 with 10 Comics and Graphics Novel books. It looks as if they are samplers and commentary, no9t so much actual stories, but I wanted to let people here know about them while there is still time to get them for $0.00.
Some of you may remember that last summer, ( 2011), I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. They thought they'd caught it early enough that it would not come back. Nevertheless, I was put on a relatively mild chemotherapy, ( just in case! ). I was also put onto a trial study of a vaccine for pancreatic cancer.
After the chemo was over, the study and the vaccine injections continued. I also continued to get CT scans every three months.
I'm sorry I didn't begin to read this book and highlight it while it was free from the Kindle Buffet a couple of days ago.
Rivet Your Readers with Deep Point of View by Jill Elizabeth Nelson
Would you like your readers to live your stories, not merely read them? Deep Point of View anchors your readers inside the point of view character(s) of your novel. This handbook shows you how to perform the transformation from ordinary narrative to deep narrative in clear, easy-to-master steps. I invite you to sweep your writing to the next level with a technique that creates immediacy and intimacy with your readers and virtually eliminates show/don't tell issues.
They did their work on the infected area on her left foot, and also lengthened the Achilles tendon on that ankle, so she will be hobbling around for quite a while. I'm taking in the walker she's used after previous surgeries today. The doctor thinks that is all she'll need to get around.
After batting it around for a while, the doctors are still talking about surgery, but not UNTIL TUESDAY. They can't seem to make up their minds. Yesterday they were going to send her home and wait a week.
The artist, Tyler Hoare, plans to install them this weekend.
Not counting the time they were taken down as eyesores, he says they only last about 5 years maximum before the forces of nature destroy them. Some of his other creations have lasted as little as a day, because they were down at the waterline.
This may be the last time he can do it, though, as not only he is getting older, ( he's in his 70s), but there are only 3 posts left of the 20 or so that were there to mount his masterpieces on when he started.
This was a sign on the wall of the first and original Round Table Pizza, before Bill sold the rights to the name and menu to some franchisers. ( For those of you est of the Rockies, or outside the US, Round table is strictly a West of the Rockies chain. The original was in the town where I attended high school, and it was THE PIZZA JOINT in the area.
If you could decipher the sign to the owner it was worth a free pizza. Everyone was on the honor system not to give i away, and it seemed to have worked.
OK, here is the sign

... but one thing was the same. We also called ant lions doodlebugs, so I don't think it was strictly an Arkansas thing.
I never worked the cotton fields around Fresno, CA, but did do some agricultural work with many of my friends in the same time frame, 1950-1954, when I was 6-10.
A few days ago, Sue Brown blogged about having had to put her cat, Biscuit to sleep. I commented about having a week earlier having to put my cat, Bleu to sleep, and many other commented as well.
I know it has been hard for me to face my loss, too.
Today is 365 days since I officially became Holly Happy hart.
But with leap year, it will be tomorrow.
And I've been using that name here for 4 years and 31 weeks.
I hope shalimar's blog the other day didn't put off anyone's sending me anything to edit.
I poster before that, that I might be a bit slower than usual getting to a story, but I had only one day I was so weak i didn't make it to the computer, or feel like even having them bring one to me. I looked forward to having to get up, walk to the computer room ( Family Services) and check my emails. I needed to get up and walk, and sit up, and time at the computer was better than just sitting on the couch in my room. I did receive and returned 3 edits while in my quite pleasant gaol.
Remember Brandon King, the 15 year old shot in the back of the head in a computer lab 3 years ago?
This article still calls him 'gay', though Larry was portraying as female at school.
