May was a disaster health wise, beyond my fight with cancer.
I lost 4 days to chemo, ( each dose wiped me out for two days. )
I had minor strokes affecting the use of my left arm a few times for a few minutes on 4 days. Each of these meant a trip to the Emergency Room, where I was kept most of the day, except for the one time I was admitted as an inpatient for 4 days.
I kept trying to work, ( I have been working at the hospital doing valet parking), and one day I became dizzy and went to ER where they found my blood pressure was extremely low. ( We’ve been working on my blood pressure as a separate thing. )
Then I had another tiny stroke and again ended up in ER before admission s an inpatient for 11 more days. This time we were also fighting a major infection that they couldn’t knock down, They finally found some was lodged in my chemo port from which it could leak to re-infect me, but they could not get enough antibiotic in to kill it, so they had to remove the port.
I got out on June 1st, but I’ve had trouble finding my get up and go and I still do not have much strength when it comes to getting around on my own two feet.
I’ve been slowly reading some stories, but except for the last two chapters of Penny Lane’s SEE, I’ve read nothing here on BC other than a few blogs. I think that overall, I’m about 3 weeks late other than a bit of EAFOB 2 weeks ago.
My next doctor’s appointment is tomorrow.
I need to work on my stamina and walking, and I hope to go back to work in a week and a half to two weeks. Luckily, I work in the least strenuous of the 4 valet areas.

I Know This All Sounds Bad
And I know it is bad; however, I was expecting worse. Thank you for giving us an update. You mean so much to all of us. Keep fighting.

Holly, I hope and pray that
the LORD heals you. I have suffered health wise due to my weight, but GOD saw fit to use the doctors to heal me. I takes meds to keep me healtjy, now.
May Your Light Forever Shine
I hope chemo was sucessful or at least buys you many more years
...Holly.
You are a class act and very helpful to us sometimes writers.
The mini strokes worried me as did the infection. But them both cancer and chemo mess up the immune system and all that inactivity and stress on the body would make stokes more likely.
Even so called healthy people can get strokes from sitting too long on long duration jet flights.
Do keep fighting, Holly.
We would miss you badly.

Sorry to hear

I can only echo those above, keep pushing and Get Well Soon!
I know that many of us here have various levels of medical problems but it puts our own troubles into perspective. It gets tricky: do I feel guilty because I'm not as badly off as you?
As for reading SEE, well, um... thank you. I must apologise that the chapters are trickling out so slowly for any number of reasons, health amongst them. And I keep getting side-tracked.
At least you work at a hospital. My nearest one is 30 miles away.
Penny
