Cathyland the tour

A few days ago, I sent a word document to a friend to give her a smile and perhaps think about a tour of Portsmouth, where I live.

As all you merry band of followers of EAFOAB or ‘Bike’ or even The Daily Dormouse will know, this is where the story is based.

There is Dickensian London, Bronte Country and even Hardy’s Wessex. But we have a new addition; Cathyland.

Many thanks for Puddintane for all the help and advice in making the following possible, the errors are mine alone.

Ride off

The story is as tied up as I intended to make it. Healing is in progress, the back story is revealed, all of the rest is dressing and side dishes. The dramatic tension is resolved. I intended to stop the story there, though I may be tempted to write a set-piece for nuptials, or similar events.

Edited to add: I am open to persuasion....

Down, and then back up again

Well, I had a roller-coaster of a shift, emotional-wise. I started pretty down, as I was still hurting in my privates, which sucked on so many levels it pushed me right into the depths. But, things got better as the shift went along. First, by the time I got off shift, I was dong pretty good pain wise, and then in the car I heard this song called "Dam. girl" and for some reason, I pictured myself as the object of the singer's praises, strutting my stuff as he sang. I don't know why, but I'll take it.

More Health Update

Okay, so here's what's going on.

I have Torticollis that snaps my head to the left, wrenching my neck and back, severe muscle spasms in my left shoulder that cause it to come right and my depression symptoms are on the rise. I have a hard time focusing on anything, etc... The VA is sending me to a Movement Disorder clinic whenever they get around to it, so who knows when that will occur.

Back to work!

Well, the surgery went well, and maybe now I can focus on writing again. I've been very distracted about this surgery. The surgeon is the same one who cut off my left leg, she's one of the best in the area, and I was worried that they would find osteomylitis in my right leg. Losing both legs would be a real problem!
Fortunately, that isn't the case (YAY!), and I'm much more comfortable (if a little bit sore). I hope to have a new "Sweets Life" chapter posted soon!

I have finally just finished the last scene in book 2 of Simon(e). At 12 chapters and just over 70,000 words its taken a lot longer than I expected to finish. Now that I have the story written I just need to proof read it and get it edited ready to post.

I know a number of your are eager to continue to read this story. I'm sure you will be glad to know that your wait is almost over.

Plot line in 'What Light'

This is the end of act 2. Act 3 is the final act.
I realise the plot for this story is confusing because of the variety of characters. I did not intend it to be. What happened is that the story gave birth to characters without my intending it to.
It probably has 2 or 3 different characters for their own stories. I do believe it is not too confusing.
Everything shall become clearer in part 3.

The kindness of strangers - Part 2

At long last - and it's well overdue - we now own our house in France.

Our last trip over was a bit of a nightmare actually. The first day there was a Sunday and like England back in the deep recesses of the seventies, nothing was open. Fortunately we'd taken food and stuff with us and were looking forward to staying in our French home.

Things however, didn't turn out to be quite that simple...

Nitpicking

In many tales here at BCTS people go into great detail after the story why that wouldn't be possible. Now while I sometimes feel it ok to do this (and I have been known to do it as well on occasion). Some stories are picked apart too much. I mean who care if something is legal because of one little thing.

My word, it's only a story.
Don't tear it apart- enjoy it.

This guy must die

I don't know how this perpetrator will survive another year, and if he does, I hope that he spends it hiding in a dark closet, trembling in fear of his victims hunting him down and killing him in the most unimaginably painful way anyone could think of.

This is substantially what my stepfather did to me, and I still remember my son asking me 10 years ago how come I was never happy. I hope that people like this spend their after life in the hottest part of hell, even if I have to be there for wishing that be their fate.

Thousands of women and girls were incarcerated in Magdalene laundries and the Irish government seems unwilling to apologise and compensate the remaining surviving victims. I have been honored to have the privilege of helping fellow authors by editing their stories. What I generally do is to correct grammar as I try to keep the author's original idea. Delays, delays!

Those of you following my main novels, Becoming Robin and Boys Don't Cry have probably noticed I haven't been very active lately. Part of that is that this is storm season, and since I usually do my writing in the evening, that's put a big halt to using the main PC. I finally got Windows 7 on my laptop though I still need to find my MS Office disc for that.

Got a great phone call.

I got a call yesterday from someone I used to work with. His mother-in-law is visiting, and she read his copy of my book. She LOVED it, and wants a copy for herself to take back to ALASKA with her so she can have her friends read it! We had a very nice phone conversation and I thanked her for calling to tell me that she loved the book. So now I gotta order a couple of copies so I can have one handy should this happen again! LOL

I am frustrated with my work already

well, I'm very ticked off. Apparently, the schedule I was given wasnt worth the paper it was written on. The night supervisor called me tonight wondering where I was. According to him, I was supposed to give him the schedule they gave me and have him sign off on it, and without any input from me, he booked me for tonight. So I'm one day into my new job and am already at odds with my manger. Sigh.

Minor computer problems

Haven't been on most of the day due to minor computer problems. My Time Machine backup disk turned flakey on me so I had to go to town, buy a new one and, bring it home and reformat it for MacOS and install. Not really a big deal, but I got a decent drive instead of a cheapie and that took some research.

Hugs,
Erin

A good first day, and about "Yes, Dear."

Well, my first shift was pretty good, and at least a couple people made a point of calling me Dorothy and one teased me and called me a young lady. All in all, I'm impressed so far. Meanwhile, I wanted to take a moment to talk about "Yes, Dear." I've been playing around with showing the difference between forced fem and consensual dressing up. The latter can be a fun experience between a couple, the former is merely torture. Accordingly, I set the piece up as dark as I dared, making it appear that I was telling a horror story, and then sprang my little surprise of the fact it was all a game.
