For those of you who are unable to make it to the epic event that is Whedonfest, we are sad that you can't join us. There will be pictures posted and stories told of the awesome stuff auctioned, the events and all that. However for those of you who can't make it but want to give to a good cause, please send money. Saying it with green is a lovely way to share the love. You can go to the Whedonites United Paypal account, at [email protected], and enter it in as a gift.
If the donation you share is over 20 dollars, you get a tax letter from Equality Now for your donation to help you in tax season.
Every dollar that we can raise counts and once we make costs, everything goes to our three charities: Equality Now, Kinds Need to Read and New Leash on Life. So if you wanted to share, that would be lovely. Thanks.

It would be better
To give the money to a legit charity of a person's choice, be it the United Way, The Salvation Army, Goodwill, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, American Cancer Society, and of course my favorite - the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Plenty of lists of good charities online, take your pick and know where your money is going. Oops, almost forgot one important one: The Ronald McDonald House.

Karen, the money goes to Equality Now (75% of total donations/ proceeds), Kids Need to Read (15%) and a local no kill shelter called New Leash on Life (10%). It all goes to completely legitimate charities that are all 501(c)3 and if your donation is over $20 you will get a tax letter. So, no I am not asking money to be given to a non-entity. Our event is a part of the Can't Stop The Serenity international charity drive. We are listed on their website and have been for the three years of our existence.
So the money will be going to three good causes.
