Dot the super-heroine ?

Okay, so last night I had a pretty strange dream. In the the dream, I was at a house with a bunch of other people, when a man came in with a huge trunk. He opened the trunk, and furniture popped out - and creatures I can only describe as shadow-spiders, basically a ball of darkness with little tendrils that it used like legs.

I backed up, and said, "I'm afraid of those shadow-things."

As if attracted by the sound of my voice, one of the shadow-spiders leaped towards me, with shadow fangs ready to strike.

2020-04-24 ANZAC 2020

It's a bit controversional because of some comites / groups that are just a bit on the nationalist / right wing / phobic side but tomorrow, April 25th, is ANZAC day.2020.

It's a day I try to keep in mind each year.

The war from 14-18 also known as World War 1 or the War to end all wars wasn't just a 'thing' for Europe. Gallipoli is one of the most infamous especially in the ANZAC coutries. But soldiers of all over the commonwealth, the colonies served in 'Flanders' fields. Almost every skin collor know to man served 'next' to each other down in those trenches.

Oregon's governor has issued an executive order Oregon schools are to be closed until September and that schools implement "distance learning" so that the students in Oregon don't lose a year of schooling. Writing an honest Female Character

For over 10 years I had a Phd Psychologist at the VA who I thought at first was a help. Then I realized that she seemed to suck my brains out at each session, and then to sift my consciousness and finally put it back in. One day, I finally understood that and on my way home decided that I'd had my last session with her. I went almost a year without a counselor, then one afternoon, walking up the street realized that there was no reason to live.

The Second Wave

A man stood in the surf watching the waves come in. He saw a large wave approaching, planted his feet firmly, took on a boxer's stance, and waited. The wave broke and crashed over him.

Still standing, he yelled: "Yes, I've got this! The ocean can't beat me!"

My Muse issued another 4 hour challenge

A four hour challenge is a form of improvisation. The goal sometimes is to work through a writer's block and overcome one's distraction.

Anyone can do it. Like getting into shape, you can't start off by running a four minute mile.

A four hour challenge is like a wind sprint. I not expecting Coleridge or Dickens to issue forth out of me. What I am trying to achieve is to flex my brain into brainstorming and letting the creative juices flow more freely.

Trying to remember the name of a story........

I’m trying to find a story based in the Whateley Universe in which a teenage boy is exposed to nannites while on a school field trip to a top secret lab, and then while playing an RPG on his computer he runs into Fay’s alter ego and is killed while trying to save her in the game. The nannites are somehow activated, mutating him into his role playing character, a female elf, who also happens to have an affinity for electronic devices, as well as retaining her stealth abilities from the RPG, and some pretty well enhanced combat abilities from the nannites as well.

Feminine Stereotypes

I am not sure who reads my blogs or whether people go back to read my replies, so I am starting a new conversation on this topic.
In a recent blog I received these comments:
Alys9 said: One category of story I find unsatisfying ... where the new girl suddenly and thoroughly becomes nicer, cleverer, and often better looking and more skilled than the better-practised real-girls who have become her friends. It just exaggerates and makes the story unlikely.

Story Universe Name Update

Hey, all!

Just thought I'd take a moment and thank all of you who made suggestions in my 'Story Universe Name Dilemma' blog. I'm now leaning toward The Alluring Legends Universe, which I know is completely different than pretty much all the suggestions, but just having said suggestions got the creative juices flowing and sparked an idea or two.

So thank you!

HD coming with shingling

The majority won't understand what this is about. Some will. This is for those few. WD and a few other HD mfg are adding shingling to some of their drives. It's raising havoc with the RAID build. This drive will work as a stand alone in a personal computer. It won't work in a mirrored array. I doubt it could even be cloned and used that way as it does not work well or get along with normal drives. If none of this makes sense, ignore it, you aren't one of those who will be running into problems with these HDs. What ticks me off is the companies weren't informing the buyers.

How A Bot That

The other day I was feeling pretty good about myself. Admittedly that is a common occurrence as I'm almost as self-confident as our Fearless Leader, who has plenary power according to Mike Pence. Being a former altar boy myself I know that when Pence uses the word "plenary" he's calling on his Baltimore Catechism education to define "plenary" as absolute and unqualified.

What caused me to trip the light narcissistic was the ever growing number of hits on my old stories.

Then an disturbing thought crossed my mind.

How many of those hits are actually bots?

I have posted 68 stories on Big Closet Top Shelf.
This week Laika said of my collection: "Such variety in your stories ... It's like some crazy anthology show that while some variation on a transgender theme is always there, it otherwise doesn't stick to any one genre. One day it's twilight zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents the next, then Love American Style or Death Valley Days."
Thank you Laika. As I said to her, that is just what I am trying to do.
But it did prompt me to look at what the readers on this site really like.

a kiss isnt just a kiss?

So last night, I got to thinking about a conversation I had a few days ago, where I mentioned I always found kissing someone on the lips upsetting. And in fact I used to say I'd rather kiss or be kissed anywhere but the lips. As I was mulling this over, it occurred to me that this sense of panic reminded me of the panic I got going into a shower, and I wondered if it has a similar cause - that at some point, a kiss on the lips got associated with something terrible, something I couldnt recall consciously recall but my body responded to.

looking for a particular Whatley story

I started thinking about this around Easter but can't find it.

I seem to remember a Whatley story about a woman who becomes a devisor and becomes insanely angry at her boyfriend, in her madness creating a raygun that zaps him, turning him into a bunny girl. I believe the bunny then comes into her own mutant powers? I'm not sure if this was a one-off or if there were several stories about the bunny girl.

Any guidance appreciated! Thank you!

Tommy - The Trials and Tribulations of a Girl?

Well, as I feared, the next chapter of "Tommy - The Trials and Tribulations of a Girl?" is going to be delayed a bit. And there are two reasons, first and not the biggest reason is that the grandkids are here every day (mom and dad are still working). The second reason is the biggest. I got lost while working on the next chapter. I knew where I was, and I knew where I wanted to go, but NOT how to get there. The batteries in my GPS are dead, so it's no help. The last I heard from Sarah is that she'd missed out on a job with NASA, and was heartbroken. I wish her well and hope that she is pleased with life and that there were bright spots.

Book recommendations (newIsh stories)

I love so many stories on this site, but I tend to concentrate on the older stories because they are complete.

In a recent blog someone mentioned how many good new stories there were... So I'm asking for some recommendations from the newer stories (which probably encompasses anything in the past few years) .

I prefer longer or complete stories. If it's incomplete, hopefully it has a regularish update.

I read pretty much anything, but I'd prefer no forced sissification or humiliation.

Thanks in advance!

Gravity

Note: I mislabeled an earlier blog of mine "Gravity". I will try to rename it whenever I have time.

Water is a pretty heavy substance. With enough volume and enough force, water is almost unstoppable.

To lift water against the force of gravity tales some kind of energy. If you put a dry roll of toilet paper in about ½" of water (that's about 12.7mm if you swing like that)

The water will climb up into the toilet paper roll until the whole roll is soaked.

He was then invited to a party by one of the girls that turn out to be a swim party, which she hadn't told him. She loaned him a swimsuit which he wore at the party with the other girls. For the last many months there has been a running total for a "debt kitty" on the right of the home page.

It would appear that the goal will soon be reached, if it hasn't already.

Maybe you should then start amassing a strategic reserve of $30,000.

It's time for you to create a perpetuation plan. The first step in such a plan would be adequate liquidity.

You could keep your "kitty" theme by calling it a "cat" fund (catastrophe).
