I decided that two pictures exactly the same were rather redundant. Since I make a rather unattractive female, I decided to put up a picture of something near and dear to me.

Slacker Part Six

And it only took five years, three months, and two weeks

First off, my apologies for the time span between part five and part six.
Second, thank you for your patience.
Third, I sincerely hope you enjoy Marnie's new adventures and welcome to any new readers.

writing what you don't know

They say to write about what you know. Just as important is not to write about what you are completely ignorant of. Do some research or look like a total idiot. This was triggered by a description of rabbit hunting in a story not on this site. The protagonist was hunting rabbits over bait from a blind with a shotgun. When a rabbit came in sight he carefully waited to take a clean shot when the rabbit was fully enguaged with the carrot. If this doesn't have you rolling on the floor laughing you have never been a hunter and know nothing of rabbits.

Please Take Care Of Yourself.

Coronavirus.

I urge you all to be very proactive about your own Medical Selfcare. Drink lots of water. If you smoke, perhaps cut back a little? Avoid crowds. If you see a NIOSH 45 mask, buy it. If you can, wash your hands a lot. Weak Coffee rather than Iced Drinks.

So far, I am "well" for me. I am COPD, and a bunch of stuff. I have good inhalers and use them. I live very close to two Hospitals and have been self isolating for over a week. Please be careful. I love you all.

Login glitch?

Anyone else having probs?

Something new... logged in but you try to view something and you get this: "Access denied. You are not authorized to access this page." - While clearly logged in I try to go to 'My Stories' and suddenly get the error message. Never had a problem until just now.

I tried to 'Login' again but since I AM logged in there is no re-login option! So I try to go to My Stories and it says "Access denied".

Maybe it's a temporary problem and not a sign of bad things to come.

Anyone else having probs?

New Chapter of my Regency Romance - His Inconstant Desire

I'll be posting my new chapter, #8 Cold, Rain and Breakfast, tomorrow as soon as I have let it cool off so I can edit it.

Sorry it's been so long but I have been sick for about 5 weeks. Went to the doctor today and he offered to X-Ray my head to see if there's anything in there, but I told him I didn't want to know that bad. Otherwise, I'm much better so it's back to work.

Hugs,
Erin

Sorry to do this

I'm very sorry to have to do this everyone, but I don't think I'll be able to post any story chapters this week. I've spent the last two days so sick that I haven't even been able to get out of bed. I still feel horrible and I don't think that I would be able to write anything worth reading at this point.

Sorry again

T-girl children's bikini

I was surprised to hear an item on my local (Toronto, Canada) morning radio program about a father who is starting up a small company to make bikini bottoms for young T-girls, so that his daughter can go to the beach. If this first product is successful, other products will be added in the future.

Coachella and Stagecoach festivals rescheduled… (in SoCalif)

FYI - Music fans may be interested in knowing due to the Corona virus that this events date has been changed.

For 2020, tickets sold briskly in an advance sale last summer and the remaining passes sold out within hours during a public on-sale after the lineup was released in early January. - Lots of people impacted.

Am I making the right choice ?

One of my problems is that I suck at making decisions. I flip back and forth, or just turtle and hope the situation goes away on its own. Well I'm dealing with that now in terms of getting stomach surgery. The closer I come to the time of the surgery, the less certain I am that I'm making the right call.

WHY ARE YOU WRITING?

I'm not sure how many authors were writing to BCTS twenty years ago (yr 2000). Can't even guess how many are here now. What I can observe is there are a whole passel of new authors posting stories. That said, let me say this one more time as I have explained many times before. If you are writing strictly for the knudos and comments, I wish you lots of luck. You are more than likely going to be disappointed. Trying to drive this home to you authors is like giving advice on how to drive to someone who has been driving for years. It doesn't register.

1250!

As I write this, my latest story, "Family Jewels" has 1250 reads and 81 kudos.

And not a single comment.

I know that I've ranted about this before but COME ON!

I'm grateful for the kudos, but WHY aren't there any comments? Weren't any of those 1250 readers moved enough by the story to say something about it?

Even something negative.

I don't appreciate comments that say "Your story stank." No writer does. And, truth to tell, comments where the person seems to take delight in pointing out typos are no fun either.

Gwen's comment about Malwarebytes brought a response but then it kept going and I couldn't stop so I am dropping my own blog.
Coincidence it updated one night ago? It hasn't ever flagged BCTS on my computer. One of the other virus protectors gets over exuberant at times but again BCTS isn't running a bunch of free loading cookies. The girls are running the cleanest web site on the net as far as I can tell.

My first blog post, so bear with me...

A few months ago, my wife told me she thought I was autistic, just out of the blue. Then she pointed to my musical skills, and my love of writing and computers. Also, I don't do well making friends, in crowds, you name it.
So in November, I went through the raads-r test. I could see myself that I was in the autism spectrum, but for officialdom, I sent it off. And waited. And waited. Finally called, and they told me they'd never got my test. So I resent it and waited. And waited.
they didn't receive it again.

Epilogue for Helen's Diary?

I'm sort of stuck in writers... its not a block its more like a soup. Like you know the direction you want to go but are completely at a loss at the starting point. I know i want to write an epilogue for Helen's Diary but for the life of me i cannot pin down how far into the future i want her life to advance. I think i want to use the epilogue to branch into a new story because that is where my brain goes when one door closes a window is cracked open so you can break-in in the likely event you have lost your keys.(cameos) i just don't know how much of Helen i want in the next story.

Dresden Files Continues!

Amazon today popped up with the ability to pre-order the next book in The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, "Peace Talks"! Coming out mid-July, woot!

Fans have been waiting six years since the last full novel in this series came out, barely getting by with the release of some short stories in various anthologies. So every time as an author you feel guilty about taking too long publishing the next part of your epics, remember that Jim has us all beat on that score! ;)

Book one is finished!

Book one is finished of my story, it has been a wild ride and I hope you all enjoy what's coming. I know my story is hella weird, and probably not what you are used to, but for those who stayed, I am ever so grateful. One thing however that I will NEVER do again, is not name my antagonist right away. This chapter alone took all my effort to describe a character's actions who I don't have a name for, but I still want to stick to his true nature. So yeah next story I write, NEVER GOING TO DO THAT AGAIN UGH.

Too Much For You?

I've had a dream, a very vivid, and erotic, and at times, impossibly lewd one. It was so clear that when I wakened, I was not sure I was awake, and not sure that it had not really happened. For me, the dream was impossibly powerful, realistic yet so very improbable to me. I'm frightened to write it down and publish it here.

In working on it, the story keeps changing shape in front of me. It is a mix of things I've experienced and heard, and perhaps things that I hope no one ever must experience.

No Twice Removed today

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry to say there will be no Twice Removed this week. The past few days have just been too busy and my muse left me hanging halfway through the chapter so I'll need more time to finish it. Apparently my muse want to work on Hypererse stuff right now, so I'm going to be working on fleshing things out for the last chapter of Syryn's Song and on the finishing the next chapter of MSPD while I let how I want events on Unity to go percolate in the back of my mind.

Back to work now.

*big hugs to all of my friends, family, and fans*

Looking for another story

it has been difficult as on top of not being able to remember TITLE or AUTHOR, I can't remember the plot of the story either just a scene

MC arrives at the digs (student lodging house) of her best friend (could be S\O) if I remember right he'd injured his leg.

The scene

for some reason she is in or near the kitchen (stereotypical male student house) bags of rubbish piled up waiting to be taken out, along with discarded pizza boxes some of which may have had 'science experiments' in them

Google Announcement this Morning, 2/26/2020

Not sure I interpreted their lengthy announcement correctly, but from what I saw, I doubt that I'll have an issue with them. I just try to be doubly sure that I haven't copied anything I have "seen".

There is an outfit that collects Photos for Facebook, and I think it is clear that if you have put a picture on the Internet, or anywhere on any Computer, this company will deem that it belongs to them. I do have a half dozen picture of my badly bruised hindquarters that got that way when a man, who was texting, rear ended me. No one is going to pay to see my butt. LOL

Just a quick reminder to those entering the Leap of Faith story contest that entries must be posted by 11:59 pm EST on February 29th.

Also, due to continuous problems sleeping I have been a bit slower than usual on my weekly schedule. I apologize for that and am trying to by best to keep on schedule as much as possible. That being said, there will be a bit of a delay on Syryn's Song, since there's a lot of details I need to work out and it will not only be the final chapter, but the epilogue as well.

I am SOOO sorry my friends. I thought I did a FULL post of chapter 3 but I only did half and so people went into the interlude and chapter 4 without realizing what was going on. I am sooo sooo sorry! I fixed it but JEEZ I apologize.

I also HEAVILY fixed Chapter 2, the fraternity scene is nowhere near the same at all. And I changed a lot to make it more fluid. I hope you enjoy the changes, and I apologize for the first posting of Chapter 2, I deeply regret the way I posted it. I was not in a good place mentally and I did a poor job for all who read it.

My GCS has been resceduled.

The hospital that my GCS was supposed to be in called the doctor's office yesterday and said that they are no longer allowing that sort of operation to be done there. I was waiting on my appointment to see the doctor when they did so

The doctor's office has rescheduled me for April 10th at a different hospital.

So this trip to Houston that I just got back from was not necessary. I went ahead and had my appointment with the doctor while I was there, but that could have been done when I go back in April.

I read non-fiction mainly, but if I am going to take a fiction book away somewhere, I like a collection of short stories.
I am not pretending to their class, but some of the best writers a best with short stories: Hemingway, James, O Henry, Graves, Poe.
I have not researched it, but I think that the crucial elements of a short story is characters in a situation.

I'm 72, divorced, and actually had surgery to change from male to female as much as possible. I was not "transgender", but did not know it then, and am Celibate now. I just wanted sexual feelings and lust to end, to be over, to be gone from my life. Forever.

Peckish Tonight

We've all been together here for just yonks, so you know that I'm not going to harm myself, so I think it is safe to say that I am feeling so low tonight that I can't see out of my shoe tops. The weather here is awful, about 6 degrees and fairly pissing down. I would bundle up and go out for a walk about, but my lungs hurt so I feel trapped inside.

I was just sat here contemplating calling the crisis line and tell them I just need to talk, no need for drama or the plod.

I took a Dementia test friday and am not pleased with the results.

I've published the epilogue for Moving On and that is it for Tammy for a while - but at least you get a bumper 10k words chapter!
Once again, many thanks to Snowfall for her wonderful help with the Moving On series.

My plan now is to work on a story involving some characters called Heather and Sophie and set it in Cornwall, how does that sound? The odd short story might also appear.

No TR this week :(

My apologies to all of my readers who were looking forward to Twice Removed this week, but circumstances have made it so I can't post it this week. I've been unexpectedly busy the last few days and haven't really had the time to finish the chapter. Add to that the fact that I've been having trouble sleeping again the past 2 nights and well, I could push to finish it for today, but doing so would be a rush job and not up to my usual standards.

Dwayne Wade is my hero.......

I have developed a habit over the years of watching the news, well actually listening to it, while I am getting ready for work in the morning. As I am usually in a hotel room during the week, I generally select whatever local network station is easiest to find (excepting Fox of course - I would rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick!), but it does allow me to at least keep up on a little bit of what happened overnight in the world.

Several weeks back I wrote about the trip down to OKC to the Clinic and then the problems at Costco. Two days later when I returned everyone was more than helpful and accepting. Made the trip to Amarillo today. The weather was a bitch! Sheet ice on the highway. couldn't see the lines as the whole thing was covered and it was all black except the bar ditches and fields covered in snow. Growl strips are on both sides of the Interstate and I was trying out both sides trying to find the highway. A kazillion semis were out there too. It was so foggy, two car lengths ahead was total white out.

So...

Hi gang... I'm about to post the first chapter of a nine chapter tale. It is not pretty. It is not about nice people. It has more triggers than all the pistols in Ireland and many of them are mine...the triggers that is. We are all angry people. But there are different degrees of anger. And though this tale deals with two extremely angry people, their anger is not apparent.

It's going to be a modern urban fantasy-ish/ pseudo sci-fi-ish thing, where something in our mundane lives causes a fantastical change in a character and how they deal with it.
