I've been absent for quite a while now. Close to a year.
If you don't know me that's okay. I'm the author of Adrian and Walkers Path. One of which I took down.
To be honest I stopped writing those stories. I'm sure I'll get back to them one day. For now I've been working on a Sci-fi/LITRPG novel. It's over 80k words and I'm beginning to see the end of the road for it.
A bit of a warning. Its name "Violation" is that way for a reason. If you have problems reading about being sexually assaulted I suggest not reading this chapter. Even though it's only a kiss to the person it happens to it feels as if the whole world is against you.
Just finished the first draft of Walker's Path Chapter 14. There are a few parts that feel a bit disjointed but I'm sure when I make a second pass through I'll iron most of them out.
It's a long chapter again which I'm sure most of you won't mind.
This one made me cry because I was in a similar situation before. You'll understand when you see it.
There's some talk of the future in this one and how Chapter 14 is going to be one of the last bad experiences for Walker. In general, I want Walker to come out of this with a good outlook and hopefully, I can outweigh the negative with positive.
Also Chapters 3-5 have been edited! I'll continue to edit these and hopefully get all of the little grammar bugs poking around.
I was right. It took another week to complete chapter 13.
I need to edit it today or tomorrow and then it should be ready for Friday.
While chapter 13 is fresh off the press (of my fingers on a keyboard) I can't help but mention that chapter 14 is already some of what I would consider my best work. I only started writing it today and I'm blown away at how well I am at expressing these particular emotions.
No spoilers, just know that I am really feeling chapter 14. Mostly because the emotions in it so far have been pent up in me.
A friend of mine has been tearing through Walker's Path with suggestions and revisions. Slowly over the next week or so I'll be implementing the revisions I like and will change them here. I've already done the latest chapter (11) and chapters 1 and 2.
I'm also going to be changing the order in which people read the Intermission. It'll come out AFTER Chapter 10. I'll be changing the end of chapter 10 to be the beginning of Chapter 11. It's going to be the same content but in a slightly different order.
I wanted to let you all know that the next Writing Walker's Path is out on my website!
Writing Walker's Path is something I started doing after the release of the story. The blog posts talk all about my thought process and sometimes hints at what is going to happen in the future. There are other "Writing Walker's Path" episodes for other chapters on there as well so make sure to read them all!
It's been a month or so since I last updated Walker's Path.
For the last three or so months I was putting out two chapters a month. I didn't mind writing on that schedule but the last chapter was nearly twenty pages long and took a lot out of me.
I've been playing a lot of view games lately. Mainly Red Dead Redemption 2 and Overwatch. I also got into New World which I'm enjoying.
Chapter 10 is longer than all of the other chapters so I spent a bit more time on the blog talking about it. I feel there's still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the blog so if you have any suggestions please let me know.
Tomorrow I'll be releasing the "Writing Walker's Path" blog and will post a link to it here. There's been a good reception to the blog so far and I know I have you partially to thank for that. (I appreciate all of you!)
Chapter 10 is written! I'm going to release it this coming Friday. So not only do you have the weekend to look forward to you have a new chapter too!
It catches Walker's storyline up to the Intermission. Let's just say mistakes were made and there's a surprise in there as well.
I'm interested in a beta reader for this one. I'm looking for someone who is willing to be really open about what I've written. Weirdly the part I want feedback on was not planned at all which is why I need feedback.
It's been a week and as promised the Walker's Path Intermission is out!
Mind you it's only 1200 words long but it's sort of an official in-story introduction to Walker's friends. (And a little more)
I'm going to start doing a blog on my website after every chapter release. I'll link to it here after I release the chapter. I'll be giving insights as to why I wrote what I did and what my state of mind was like at the time.
If you haven't noticed yet... I just released Chapter 9 of Walker's Path!
It's the end of the night and there was something that Alyx said that's been bugging Walker. He is bound and determined to know what she meant. Those questions are answered in this episode.
Also, this chapter is the last of the "night" chapters. Longest night ever?
So last week I said I should be done with Walker's Path Chapter 8 by the end of the next week. Well, today's the end of that week and I actually finished! Last night decided to sit down before bed and write a little bit bringing the chapter to 9 pages.(in google docs)
There's some editing I need to do and that can take a bit but expect the new chapter TODAY.
I finished writing chapter 7 of Walker's Path today. It took a lot longer than I anticipated. I was going to finish it quickly but then Camp NaNoWriMo happened and I started working on the sequel to Adrian. That didn't end up going anywhere either so I ended up distracting myself.
I want to do a quick edit on it before I release it. Most of my work here is first draft material so I'm sorry if it's not that well done.
As you know I've been gone for a while. Chapter 6 of Walker's Path was pretty tough to write but Chapter 7 is even harder. It's not a whimsical or fun Chapter. It's difficult to write because it's emotional.
Because it's so emotional it takes a lot out of me. Pulling emotions out of my brain is pretty taxing. It makes me face feelings that I don't want to deal with.
Walker is following a similar path. Where he doesn't want to face the truth of what happened to him. He's lucky though because he's found a support system by accident.
I had a tough time writing this one. It felt like a really shitty time for Walker and I even teared up apologizing to him. His past is pretty tragic and when I wrote a certain sentence in the story it only solidified my thoughts.
I hope you all enjoy this one because it was a pretty big emotional ride for me.
