Today was my third electrology session, this time for the upper lip.
Because of the bright light some tears ran down - directly into my ears.

Then I somehow thought about the english translation and had to post this blog entry ;)

The perils of women drivers...

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Apparently allowing women to drive would increase prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce.

Yes, we're talking Saudi Arabia, and one particularly loopy academic (Kamal Subhi) who's submitted that description as part of a report to the country's legislative assembly, the Shura, in an attempt to get it to drop plans to reconsider the ban on women drivers.

You can read more about this rather strange report over at BBC News. Further evidence it's a mad world out there.

Well, last night was kind of a mixed day. First, just before we started, I said to one of the other girls, "Shoot. I just thought there are days when I wish I could forget mine at home."

There are no rules

I forget where I either read or watched that. Its a memorably quote though.

Do I have a plot...eeeehhh kinda I know what the ending is sorta. Usually very vaguely.

Where do I get my ideas from. The spark for a story comes from anything. Another story, stubbing a toe, cussing at the stupid cat. I do say spark because thats just what it is *What if...* is pretty much the spark. From there I have a picture in my head then it starts moving with a life all its own.

The writer me just uses words to try to describe what I see think and feel in my head.

I've kicked things up a notch too now by introducing the concept of Weres into the universe. This doesn't have to be just Wolves either as you'll see as my new story progresses. I'm even open to other ideas as well, other supernatural beings.

I did get a LOT written. 8 chapters of HaP are done, but not exactly edited. and I finshed off Nano.

Hope you give 'Healing a Princess' a chance. I see that some people are reading it. I just wish that they would give a little feed back even though it isn't a TG story.

I downloaded the teaser excerpt only to find that, with the names changed, it is my story "The Sultan's Heir". I know this because ONLY the names have been changed - searching on text strings from my story shoot directly to the same spot in THAT story.

I am currently writing my first Christmas story of the year (one that I never posted but wrote a while ago) and had a question.

The main character in the story is a 16yo transsexual and there seems to be a lot of sexual content in the middle of the story. Unfortunately the fact that the character is 16 is vital to the plot line or the easy thing to do would be to make him/her 18. Now I know in the real world sex with a minor is illegal, but in story form you see it often. My question is, would this be appropriate to put up on BC/TS

The use of my male name, the total silence if I bring up anything to do with my transition, it just wears on me. I was going to get him a gender-neutral card, but decided he could just deal with the fact I'm his sister for once, and got a nice card from a sister to her brother for him instead. He did thank me for it, but I got the distinct impression he was ignoring that part of the card. Ah, well.

Understanding Spouse and I are heading to check out the Tampa Bay area before moving there next month. The usual turmoil of such things will make any writing I do very problematic. This also means if I'm out of contact for a few days, don't worry everything is fine! I should be back online Monday at the latest, but will be up to my neck in sorting, packing and arranging for things to hopefully go smoothly.

Happy Feasting Day!
hugs
Grover

Resurrection at the Balcony...

Due to the easing up of finances and the ability to replace some of the software, I have managed to reconnect with the server and save the site and work on newer updates which I have just posted. Thank you very much for those who have kindly sent offers of help and support.

For those of us that celebrate it, I hope y'all have a great holiday! My favorite thing to be thaankful for is that I found this wonderful site. I'm thankful for all of those who've read my stories, and those who write the stories I enjoy so much. Thank you, my friends!

a day in "male drag"

Well, I would like to share my day in "male drag". It started when I got home from work at 7 am, and got into the only male dress outfit I have - pants. dress shirt, and suit jacket, and waited until it was time to pick up my ex and my daughter. Once we got there, we found out we had a couple of hours to wait until the ceremony, but my ex had to get into the line, so I started to wish I had grabbed a nap before we left, as I found being on my feet for that long rather tough.

I just found out that Anne McCaffrey passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 after having had a stroke. The world is now a little darker place without her glowing wit and untold stories. Requiescat in pace

Snoring dormouse clip

A link via the Daily Wail of a dormouse who seems to have gone into torpor or early hibernation in a nest box. I don't believe it's hibernating, they usually do so in nests in the ground, it's far too vulnerable in a nestbox, so I hope they removed it to a safe place.

Anyway the clip is fun although the camera didn't appear to get the sound.

Finally got my books online!

It's been a long haul and I don't know how many uploads/edits/reuploads/edits/reuploads ...

But my current six books, including the four-part series "On the Run–Again", are up on Lulu as both EPUB and PDFs. Readers have already let me know about preferring PDFs; please let me know that they're working well (they test okay, but nothing's like the real world).

And, finally, Kindle versions are available at Amazon!

On being a whole person

As a woman, I enjoy many types of things in my life. I love a good walk, bike ride, road trip, chocolate cake, fettuccine Alfredo, my fish tail skirt, my new hearing aids, a clean kitchen, the smell of a bubble bath, newly done nails, and the days that I can wield my magic and make my dozens of hairs look like a head full.

I like a good story, both if I have written it, and if someone else has. I like science fiction, historical fiction, history, and the bible.

Mom is Mommy again

Ok, so I had a weird experience tonight. It started yesterday. I flew out to my parents place for Thanksgiving and got in yesterday afternoon. I made the final decision a couple of days ago that I was going to come out to my parents before the end of this vacation, even if had to hand my mom a letter before I boarded my flight home.

A Date

I went out with this woman. She misread my text of when we would meet, so she was really angry with me for no good reason. When she saw that she had misread the text she kept face-palming herself.
The impression I got was that she was acting like a teenage girl.

What I would like to ask people is (I don't want to insult- this is a genuine question), are women who take hormones in a continual state of puberty or do you think she was imbalanced?

Something to Remember

Some of you know, I'm a pastor as well as being a MtF in the process of transition. As part of being a pastor I regularly counsel people, many of whom are transgendered themselves. One, is a MtF trying to deal with what it means being trans. I chat with her on the phone every Thursday night. This last week I said something that immediately clicked with both of us. Both thought I should share it.

We know more about being a man than we want, and know less about being a woman than we need.

Blessings,
Beth

I've just sent the latest chapter of this version of the saga to Maddy, who will doubtless post it in the next week or so. I'm intending to wrap this book up in the next few chapters hopefully resolving the Meadows question as I go along, otherwise we could end up with a four book trilogy - duh!

I'll do a link when it's posted.

Poignancy of a picture

You might have seen the photo that Jodi Bieber took of Bibi Aisha, if not then do look at the one in the link below. Bibi is an Afghan girl who left her husband and he followed her and cut off her nose and ears. It sounds barbaric, which it is, but the photo conveys a woman who has an inner serenity despite her mutilation.

She now lives in NY city, so possibly might have some sort of plastic surgery eventually. If we tend to feel dissatisfaction with our physical appearance, imagine what she goes through every time she looks in a mirror.

My small contribution

I read Dorothy Colleen's entry called "A Tapestry of Stars" earlier today and I felt compelled to share something with you all. Before I do, I need to explain something. Every star on the tapestry mentioned in that story represent all of the TG men and women who have been murdered for being who they really are in the area the story takes place in.
