My absence is not what you probably think...

Let me just start by saying, I haven’t abandoned writing :-) I just caught a bad case of real-life recently that just won’t let go. The short version is, I’ve been sick, and my hard drive as well as backup external HDD both died on me, so I’ve been the last two weeks either lying in bed, or drugged out of my gourd on strong cold medicine while simultaneously trying to recover any data that wasn’t backed up online somewhere (Thank GOD all my stories were recently backed up on GDocs or I’d be totally screwed right now :-P)

I’m still not anywhere near 100%. My simple cold turned into bronchitis in a hurry, and my sleep schedule is totally messed up because of aforementioned cold medicine plus other things, so… Don’t expect a story update anytime soon I’m afraid, but I promise I WILL get Becoming Robin finished when I can — there are only two chapters left anyway before I start work on Book 4. I just need to find the energy to write them.

I want to apologize about the timing of all this. I wasn’t planning to disappear from TopShelf completely even despite being upset at the time of my last blog post, but like I said, I’ve been busy trying to recover hundreds of GB of lost data while trying not to let my bronchitis turn into pneumonia, so… yeah :-)

Happy Holidays, everyone.

Did you get any snow yesterday?

Sure did!

Almost 2 1/2 inches of the stuff. It was melting off even as it fell, but it was falling faster than it could melt, so I got some great pictures. I've lived here all my life, and I honestly can't remember the last time I saw snowflakes that big.

It really lifted my spirits, too. I love snow. :-D

Just looked out and there were a few lumpy flakes falling. It's about 35 Fahrenheit, 2 degrees celsius. It won't stay around for long.

Zoe, I'm sorry to hear

Zoe, I'm sorry to hear you're not well and hope that changes for you soon.

Being ill is never nice I had major surgery on my arm several weeks back that was compounded when flu hit 2 days later then hit again a few weeks after that, despite having the flu jab 2 weeks before surgery.

Being on pain meds at the time meant I was unable to use cough n cold medicines or things like Lemsips. I feel for you as I hate getting cold or flu, I guess everyone does really. I have to be extra careful as I'm more prone to severe chest infection due to my asthma than most.

I'm glad you prevented it from becoming pneumonia. While I look forward to reading more of your stories I'm happy to wait until such time you're fully recovered from it all.

Thanks for taking time to let us know how you're doing and I hope you feel better soon.
