For those who said that I should let my hair grow out and straighten it, I can do that. I have tried to straighten it out and nothing keeps it straight at all. It just keeps curling up on me after dries out. Since I grew up in the military family, I have gotten use to having my hair short. I have a wig that is red and long, so I can wear that if I want to go out. I was thinking along that line right now.

Frizz fghters
By coincidence, this MSNB spot is on products that are claimed to fight the frizzies. It is a video, so I am posting the link. Also, If I uncerstood you correctly, you are running the straightener through your hair while wet. My salon operator says to use it on mostly or entirely dry hair for best results. Hope the link gives you some help.

Simply ties a 1/2 ounce fishing weight to every strand of hair you would like to straighten. As long as you are careful and the hair doesn't pull out by its root, it should hang quite straight. How your head will feel with all those pounds of weight hanging from it is a whole different kettle of fish.

My Hair
Well, thank you for the advice. I have try some different ways in the past, but my hair does not grow long after it gets to my shoulders after that I can not stand it anymore. So I think I go with the wig I got for now. My hair curls by itself natural anyways.

We all want what we don't or can't have
Hi Joshlyn,
It is an interesting conundrum that those with curly hair want straight hair; those with straight hair want curly. As for me, I would like a full head of long hair, but have fairly advanced MPB, (male patern baldness) so I keep my fringe quite short.

My hair exceeds the definition of curly.
In fact, it exceeds the definition of an afro. Naturally.
All I'd like is to have it a little tamer so that wearing it poofed or buzzed aren't my ONLY options.
Joshlyn could be in a similar situation regarding hair for all we know, she hasn't been exactly all that descriptive.

Works for me!
Really simple. First use a heat released conditioner, I like Thermasilk. When your hair has completely dried, use a regular straightening iron with a flocking plate(The ones that have a covering like felt). Works like a charm for me, and my hair is fairly curly!
