I have been very upset over the open ended Safe Haven law in Nebraska. For those who are unfamiliar with it, it allows for parents to legally abandon children in a hospital up to age 18. The governor of Nebraska has called a Special Session of the legislature to fix the loophole and limit it to newborns up to three days old. Parents have been coming to Nebraska from other states and dropping off their kids before this loophole is closed. There have been twenty three kids dropped in Nebraska since July. Half are teenagers.

I think I want to share just a bit more here. I have several blogs around the Internet, one for my religious stuff, one for my personal stuff, one for memes and so on, one for me as Joy and this one. But here I think I can open up some.

See, there's a lot of pain in here. I don't know how I as Joy came out as well adjusted as I did, mainly because of some of what has happened. Just like the character in my stories, I worked my backside off to fit into the world of maleness. Just like that character, I now feel trapped with no way out.

It's just a few days off my second anniversary.

I'm back from the convention, and I have to admit, it was an absolute blast.

I am a fan of all sorts of fiction. I have found several other TG sites and do enjoy the prose. I marvel at the descriptions of the characters though. When I was 19 years old I was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed less than 120 pounds. I thought about that and I downloaded a BMI calculator. According to what I can find, I was in the lower 15 percentile of my growth group. It gets worse as I go back to when I was 14 years old. I was in the low 5 percent range. And as far as shaving, I did not start shaving till I was well in my 20's and then not every day.

An incident which occurred tonite has made me realize that my priorities are way out of whack. My best pal, my housemate, the one person on this planet who knows me better than I know myself, called me, crying, feeling deserted and alone, and unloved. She was out driving at the time because she felt the need to be alone by choice, instead of an enforced aloneness caused by someone dumping her...again. I begged her to pull over and stop, and she complied, thus removing some of my sudden anxiety. But.

As Binky the Clown would say, "Heeeeeeeeeey, Kiiiiiiiiiiiids!"

Bob and I reorganized the BC software to improve performance. It took a bit longer than we thought it would but now it appears to have improved performance 5% to 30%. :)

Have you noticed that the list of users now includes everyone? It's a much better idea than the previous shorter list, although I'm not sure about being called a user--it implies some sort of addiction. Oh, maybe it isn't so inappropriate.

I just looked over the contest entries to make sure I didn't miss one and the more I looked, the more I realized, this is gonna be tuff to pick the winners. Way too many good story lines with way too many of the plot lines I enjoy reading. And so many twists.

Friday was a great day. I went and did some shopping. I was looking for shoes but I did not find any in my size that I liked. I ended up at Kmart and I was walking by the Intimates department when I got up the courage to browse. I ended up buying my first nightgown. I went through the plus size women's dept. I was looking for a skirt but they only had winter clothes out. That's okay though. I bought a new brush and nail polish gift box. I stopped on the way home and got my hair trimmed. I'm letting it grow out so I just neatened it up.

I had a rough time sleeping last night. I’m not one for nightmares but I did have one last night. In this dream I was outted at work. I was harassed and degraded by people I have worked with for 7 years. I had nurses that I really liked; scream at me for even looking at them. I guess that this is just me dealing with my fears of being outted.

Dr. Phil had a show today about Gender Confused children. There was a couple on there that are allowing their child to live as a girl and they were supported on the one hand by a very knowledgeable therapist who has worked with countless children. Dr. Phil played the skeptic and interviewed the child and insinuated that the mother influenced her in this. The child just went to her mother and asked her what the name of the condition she had. The mother told her and that was why she knew what the terms meant.

I was reading over my stories again, which I do from time to time, and I noticed that in some of the comments, the readers are saying that my stories are unrealistic, and overly optimistic.

Saw this on YouTube today, in video format.

It was read by a young lady (my guess is college-age) and is a very powerful commentary on the state of the world and the "Lost Generation" that is coming up in it now. At first, this seems like an unbearable message, but please hang in there until you've read through all of the post and instructions.

Goodness, some of you missed me, I'm overwhelmed. I had a nice week away, and although the weather could have been better - one day was a wash out - I enjoyed myself. I walked miles bird watching, and was reasonably rewarded. I teamed up with a couple who hadn't hired a car, so we went off most days looking for spots to watch for new species of birds. Andy was better at it than I was - I haven't done much of it for years, so didn't get my eye in, until the end of the week.

I'm doing my music homework which involves listening to drums and writing down the rhythms. The dog thinks someone is at the door. :) I'm going to have to use headphones. :)

I was upset to discover that sometime within the last month, Karen Michelle pulled her stories off of Storysite. I am a big fan of her stories. "My Mom, My Bestfriend" and "Beware The Zealots" and I was hoping to read them again. I am very disappointed that they are no longer there.

We've just had some horrible news here. Two women have died due to brutal attacks. A news reporter and a single mother have died. The mother died while taking a shower. Her ex-boyfriend beat down a door and shot her while her children were in the house. Anne Pressly, an ABC local reporter, was brutaly beaten by an unknown assailant last Sunday night in her house and died of her injuries just a while ago. We are heartbroken over both incidents. When will this madness end?

There is a new television on show on WE cable channel on Tuesday nights at 11 p.m. eastern standard time till 1 a.m. called Sex Change Hospital. Each episode is one hour long and profiles one new male to female transsexual and one female to male transsexual each episode and the surgeon is Dr. Bowers in Trinidad Colorado. It is very informative and done tastefully.
