Now that I'm in the polishing phase of the first draft of my novel for dead tree publication, I can turn my attention back to the stories I love that have languished here unattended for so long. Eventually, I'll have to start writing the SECOND novel in the series before I even sell the first, but until then, let's give my BCTS children the attention they deserve. *smiles* First up, No Rules Chapter 6!!
Bibliophage sent me a private message asking for me to post a status update, so I just wanted to let the community know that I'm still alive, still out here, and still writing.
I'm still working on my novel for traditional publication, but my stories for BigCloset keep pulling at me. I've finally gotten to the end of chapter 5 of No Rules, and I present it for you, hoping I haven't been totally forgotten. *grin*
Considering the ongoing interest in comics (and the number of comic retcon stories that were posted on BigCloset some months back), I offer this single strip from Evil, Inc., a comic about a corporation run by super villains. This particular strip is part of a series exploring the work of Divided Way, a charity for super villains who have fallen on hard times.
It's been seven years (and a day) since I officially joined the BCTS community and became a member. Although I've always been a writer and still make a pretty decent living writing ads, brochures, and other marketing material, Big Closet gave me a place to put my fiction out there so it could (hopefully) do what fiction is supposed to do – entertain, and (if I was lucky) say something unique about the human condition.
In the past few days, my short story turned serial turned novel, No Obligation, has gotten a lot of attention. We're talking many more hits per day than usual, with the first chapter easily scoring over a hundred hits a day.
I did a site search, wondering if someone had mentioned the story in a comment without my being aware of it, but there was nothing. Not that I'm not grateful for the attention, Powers That Be, but ... does anyone know why my favorite child is getting noticed? *grin* Inquiring minds want to know.

Robin Hood: Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent."

Here's a bit of unsolicited advice on how to choose an editor.
... where should Serenity ... my Serenity, with Wash-as-Linda and all of the crew ... go from here?
For those of you who missed it when it fell so quickly off the front page, the last chapter of the second book can be found here. But now that we've reached a good stopping place, I'm curious as to whether folks want me to keep going.
I was looking at the "My Stories" page and I noticed something odd. The latest chapter in the Stark series, Stark: The State of Grace, has less than a thousand hits overall. Compare that to every other chapter, with hit numbers between 2000 and 3000, and you have a bit of a mystery.
Last night, I tried to schedule the second part of Firefly: Connecting Flight to post automatically this morning. Naturally, it didn't work. It was supposed to post at 6 a.m. Eastern Time -- and it just isn't there. And I can't find where it's lurking so i can just go to it and post it immediately!
Can anyone help me find it and get it posted, stat?
I have a TG fan fiction I wrote that takes place after the events in the movie Serenity, which was the sequel to the televisions series Firefly. I was wondering if there might be interest here, although i will say that there are spoilers embedded in the story for those who haven't seen the film yet.
I have managed to paint myself into a virtual corner, and I am unsure how to proceed. In addition to my novel for publication, I have a slew of stories currently in production for BigCloset. If I'm going to get anything posted, I need to focus on one of them at a time. The question I want to throw out there is for the folks who read my stuff -- what do you want to see first?
Here's what's I'm currently working on (not including my Stardust story contest entry):
I posted Surprise! over at Sapphire's Place, not realizing that somehow I had crossed a line I didn't know was there. While replying to a comment left by someone else, I said something about Jezzi that was not true. I thought I understood something about the nature of some of her stories, but I was very much mistaken. Jezzi, I am very, very, very sorry.
