Stealing One's Life Hours

Each of us has only so many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years in this life. There is no buying or bartering for more. When others steal our labors they steal part of our life. There is no way to replace the time in our life stolen from us. Most figure it's a monetary thing. lost finances but it's much more. As I was skimming the net this never came up in Google but it did in Bing. If one is looking to find how many sites reference back to one's accomplishments it wouldn't hurt to use several different search engines.

a change in my dreams

I had a really crazy dream last night.

It started with me being at a university, and one of the students, a young black man, gave me his coat. I put it on, turned a corner, and suddenly I was the only white person I saw in the halls. I went back and found the young man and gave him the coat back, and then I "jumped" into a new situation.

Update on Gwen Brown

A bit of an update, Gwen's cellulitis is doing better, although she is still quite miserable and the medication is making her very tired. She is on her second course of antibiotics, they would have kept her in the hospital but Covid is using up most of the beds. She would like to thank everyone who messaged her or answered her blog to wish her well. For the time being, I'm going to be a go between to help her be able to rest, so feel free to ask me questions.

The Big C

I have published just a very short piece of whimsy today, from some of my older material which really ought to be up here as BC is my true home.

I have to confess that I have written nothing for a few weeks. I received the results of some tests last month and last week I was rushed into hospital for the removal of a large chunk of me. I am slowly recovering from that.

There I was...

working away in front of my log fire on my entry for the Christmas Comp when disaster struck.

It was my third attempt at a story when a Christmas Film came on the TV. Five minutes in, and I knew that the 3,000 odd words that I'd written were junk. The plot of the film and my story were almost identical. For a moment, I felt like throwing my MacBook at the TV but I didn't. I'd certainly not seen the film before and was made in 2019.

My muse saw the similarity and promptly exited stage left into the distance at a great rate of knots and that's it.

Double Dream

I'm sure you've seen enough TV to know what I mean if I say a show is a "doctor show" or a "lawyer show".

But what about a show that's both?

That was the dream I had last night. In the first half of the dream, I was a lawyer fighting to get a client a fair trial.

And then without warning I was suddenly in a hospital listening to a lecture on a new surgical procedure.

Don't ask me folks, I just do the dreaming.

Just in case, I wanted to thank so many of you for being so kind and loving to me in the last many years. Thank you.

Fourteen Inches of Snow

Spent the last hour and a half shoveling fourteen inches of snow. Thankfully it was light and fluffy, in mild temperature with no wind.

Rethinking the wisdom of buying a house with a double lot.

Gave away my two snowblowers when I moved to the city from the burbs. Had a big one for the driveway and a small one for the sidewalk and to blow the blow from my deck down into my pool.

Now all I have are four shovels, a spouse, and a springer spaniel (with dubious snow moving skills).

Fiction not that far off

Many of the stories on BCTS follow the same theme of school bullies and brutality. Those stories are more non fiction than fiction. I don't think I'm reveling any confidential secrets when I repeat what one of the ladies at the VA TG meeting told the rest of us when she was going to school. Every school day, every school year was literally hell for her. She was constantly getting beat up.

Cathy Michel

I got a call from Cathy Michel today. She's still in the hospital, doing better in some aspects. They have got her breathing problems sorted out but they are keeping her to do more tests on her heart function. She's with the VA in Western New York but may get transferred to a different hospital where they may be better able to do the tests her doctors want.

Hospital internet does not allow her access to BigCloset so she asked me to write this note to let people know what is happening. She'll try to keep me posted by telephone so I can report on what is happening with her.

Based on my experience, with over a dozen books published on Amazon and over one hundred stories published on BC:

You are three times more likely to receive a comment on Amazon than you are on BC. Perhaps that's because people leave a kudos on BC instead of a comment.

My books on Amazon have received over 500 comments. My stories on BC have received nearly 2,000 comments.

There doesn't seem to be a difference -- between the number of good and bad comments, whether here or on Amazon. The ratio seems to be about 9:1.

An event Frank could not forgive and they didn't talk for ten years. Eventually Frank got to know Miranda better, they reconciled, and Frank has written a song about the experience. A Recurring Theme?

I am wondering about a theme that I seem to be encountering over and over in stories. It is male saying to female: "You are mine". Do such ideas come from our primitive "Lizard Brain"? I've seen it in "Twilight" , the "50 Shades" story, and just now in chapter 26 of "Easy as Falling of a Bike". I suspect that it is a common theme that I have seen before but just now can't remember when.

Not that I expect it to happen to me.

Looking for a story about a family of three who escape from a fire, son, daughter and mother. The son's skin gets burned beyond recognition and the daughter dies from the fire from inhaling to much smoke and there is a weird doctor who uses the skin of the daughter on the sin and hypnotizes him to believe he is the daughter. I don't remember the name of this story. I think I either read it on here or in fictionmania.

I could wear pants but my breasts are rather nice and too large to hide. I'm XXY and when I started Estrodial my body really liked it.

It Is In Our Nature

In the reading of my own old stories, there are over 40 of them, it is clear that they all possess an embarrassing trait. They all seem to reveal the protagonist to be a Submissive in search of a Dominant. They reveal to me why my wife of 38 years always complained that I was too feminine. She did not understand that I was not so feminine but simply a servant, or desired to be. It is sad that we can not just be.

Well, Sharon has decided to leave her job as a school custodian.

Between her reluctance to get vaccinated, and the fact that her doctor has told her she needs to cut back because of heart issues, she will be leaving Edmonton Public Schools at the end of December.

She has arranged that in the new year she will be working as a cleaner in a home three days a week.

I hope she's thought this all through, and knows how to get extra support if she needs it, as I simply do not have the funds to help.

Gender Fluidity

Just read this interesting piece on the NPR website about reactions to Hollins College changing their admissions policy to specifically exclude non-binary applicants. I thought it might add to the ongoing conversation that takes place here, especially in our fiction, on the nature and practice of gender. It also shows pictures of people who most of us would identify as women and yet who don't identify themselves that way.

Whatley Story

First I may be confusing several plots

I'm 95% sure the story that I am looking for is a Standalone story, although it ties in with some of the feuds other cliques have with the Kimba's, and I can only remember the ending, and other than the main characters a specific character.

This character is troubled, depressed to the point of being suicidal, sees and hears ghosts\spirits, I think he may have been an avatar of one of the lower gods of the Greek pantheon (making him a part of the New Olympians)

New Olympians likenesses are used in a SIM against the Kimba's

NO PANTS EVER !

Here where I live, perhaps 1 in 10 women wear skirts on the street no matter the season. It seems that T girls try harder and usually wear skirts. Why do we clock each other so easily?

In the time I've been out, I seldom wear pants, and if I do, I have Nursing Uniform pants that are very loose in the hips and wide legs. I own a couple pair of Jeans and can't remember when I last wore them. I'm sure that part of my hatred of pants could be owing to all the years I could not wear skirts perhaps.

Lucy - A True Story

I am a bit surprised that there have been no comments on my recent story "Lucy".
I rushed a bit to publish this because when I was looking for images I discovered that there was that YouTube video and reference to the TV short, neither of which I knew about when I wrote this. I had assumed that this was a largely a forgotten piece of American history that had been excluded for inappropriate content ... but it is a great story. I hope that the TV item will be a dramatization of her speech to the court of which I have included a fragment.

Looking for a Story

I don't remember if it was here or on Fictionmania, but a couple of years ago I read a story of a boy who liked to dress as a girl. Once while dressed, he received a call from a relative, I believe a cousin. While talking with him, she kind of figured out what was going on. When they were together later, she asked him about it and he admitted it. She assisted him. At the end of the school year, they both worked at a resort along a river that was owned by relatives in her family and he worked the entire summer as a girl.

I guess this makes sense, since I've seen people who are normally mild mannered turn angry and hostile after say having a few drinks.

So that's something I'm going to have to watch out for, but at least now I know it can happen.

As usual in the UK, the authorities, to avoid upsetting business, once more have us 'celebrating' a National day not on the day itself but on the following weekend, today then, the National mourning for those lost and injured in military conflict kicked off at 11.00am this morning. I always try to observe the 2 minute silence, its not always possible but this year a pause in the day's DIY efforts was enoiugh to take part and to see those in power doing their symbolic wreath laying at the Cenotaph in central London.

There's still much to tell in this saga, and many questions (evilly and sneakily) left unanswered to explore in the next installments - so I'll have to get busy on it as poor Jordan has a lot to figure out. I also have a feeling there could be a couple short stories around some of the other characters that may need to be written before the fifth book gets finished too.

Concerning the history of transgender people in the UK

This fascinating article appeared in today's i newspaper and it concerns the history of transgender people and how the law treated them. Very few knew of a court case from 1968 which was heard in private and the details hidden away. It certainly affected the conduct of the April Ashley case in 1970 and is basically about the establishment elite giving the rest of us, especially transsexual people the heave-ho until the European Court of Human Rights caused Blair's government to amend the law.

The Rise of the Feminist is it good or bad?

I was flicking through Youtube (as you do) I found some video's with feminists asking stupid questions. Really dumb stuff, why are men seen as the stronger sex? Men should be taught not to rape etc.

Ricky Gervais answered that one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYbQ3O1ebv8

I understand Feminists want (wanted) equality, that's fine, but men and women are not physically "equal" . Our bodies are designed to do different things.

Row on row they lie
In fields all around the world
They kept their word
And gave their all

They gave their lives
For the people
Sent by politicians
to defend their country

I Wonder what
They would say
If they were here today
The young of yesterday

"When you go home, tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow, we gave our today"
