How Can I Be So Freakin' Dumb

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Author:

Sometimes you just don’t feel like making all that much effort. You know the feeling — when you know you should look good, but all you can manage is a brush or two through your hair and a little lip gloss. It’s the same thing with writing. You get a good idea for a story, sit down, and finger regurgitate onto the screen.

I’m more likely to heavily research a story before I start writing, but once in a while I’ll just wing it. The first two stories I entered in the Halloween contest were light-hearted affairs that took very little time or effort to construct.

From now on, everything I get from them is getting marked spam.

Well; at last I've got over the 'writer's block hump' dealing with Beverly's eventual slow reconciliation with her own kind back on earth.
She's had children by Ruby and the next couple of chapters deal with sibling rivalry as the various children manouvre to try and wrest control of 'Taff Spaceships' after Beverly shuffles off her mortal coil. (Although this aint about to happen anytime soon.)

The next chapter of 12-String has given me some trouble. It's not the writing of it, but more what happens in it.

I didn't realize until after she hooked up with Bobby, quite the person that Bobby is.

I know that people under the age of 18 can't usually be diagnosed yet with personality disorders. That being said, Bobby has narcissistic personality disorder. This is a type of sociopathic personality disorder.

Now, not all sociopaths become murderers, and so here I stand at a crossroads. I will not be in any way including this in the story, but Bobby attempts to rape Buffy.

New Story Required Changes to Old

For more than two years I have been contemplating writing more about one of the characters in A California Saga. Well, the muse kicked in a few months ago, and the story is nearly completed. The title is The Redhead and the PM, and it is about Sylvia's older sister, Kate O'Donnell. As this story evolved, I realized that some of the things I wrote in Chapter 13 of Five Love Stories en Brochette would have to be changed. Thank heavens it is an author's prerogative to change the universe about which he writes. The necessary changes have now been made and posted.

To top it off, there is another kind I can use in the right ear but I will not be able to use my Hijab, and that is a big deal to me.

looking for a story

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Hi,
last week I remembered a story I read some time ago and wanted to reread it, only to find I couldn't remember the title.
The only things remaining are some details and an idea of what the name of the main characters may be.
I tried searching for it, but without sufficient info to feed the search engines and without a clue on which site it was on, I can only sift through ever single story on the sites I think it could be.
I hope that someone can make some sense of the bits and pieces I remember and can give me a title or even a link.

Here is what I know:

Next Chapter of Duelist of time

Well i have an excuse for the next chapter being a bit later than week since the last one, i was going to be typing it monday - but my cat decided to start dying so it had to be taken to the vets - its a male cat, big, eats dry food so it got peeing problems (Cant spell the proper term for it). I had knew something was wrong when it was puking up the dryfood.

So its still in the vets, gonna cost a bit -  £500 or $350 i think for the americans who come to this site, something like that.

Especially since it means all the money I was putting on my credit card can now go towards paying off my car loan. And once that's paid off (which won't take too long, now), I can finally start saving up for surgery!

I recently came across Iron Roses, an adventure story which I really enjoyed, played in the 3rd person, featuring guitar playing Alex trying to reform her group. Set in a US city in the middle of a garbage strike, there was lots of realism far removed from the fantasy worlds of many games. She even had a gay friend! To experienced gamers, the tasks were probably pretty trivial, but they were just right for me.

I didn't play, but the guests were good, if a little too slick, and I had a good conversation on the train back with another member about the joy of making music, and how great it was to see so many young and not so young new chums there.

For the past couple of weeks, my roommate and I have been sort-of shut-ins, owing to my lawyer's recommendation to stay in for a while and my innate scaredy-cat nature. No going out, jogging, shopping, or eating out. The both of us were having a bit of cabin fever. Being all by myself was nothing new - being by myself didn't used to be a big deal. But, somehow, it is now.

End of Story.

The general indifference to Chapter 2 of 'The Van ...' has been quite deafening. I have therefore decided to discontinue it. At least as a TG/TV tale. I still think there is mileage in the idea and am toying with rewriting and perhaps posting in on Fictioneer in due course. I enjoy writing and, if other commitments permit, that is perhaps the way forward for me.

It was The Sun what broke it - the story that is. It happened in Mexico apparently, or so the tranny 'model/prostitute' claims, it's being denied by the footballer of course. Decide for yourself, and picture of the alleged model - very feminine looking.

Green Arrow Sequel

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Here's a little tease:

I've been thinking about a sequel in my head...I think it'll be called How to Become of Hero or some such nonsense. It'll take place a few months later with the Green Arrow trying her hardest to fight crime and finding that she doesn't really know what she's doing. She'll end up taking hero lessons, all the while investigating who hired Merlyn and dodging a deadly assassin with her in his sights. There's also the issue of high school, boys (Roy?) and trying to fit into a world she knows nothing about (girlhood).

It is annoying when im trying to find a story but i cant remember the freaking name. It was posted earler this year, or more like, it was reposted and rewritten. Its about a high school boy that plays a prank on the teacher, posing as a girl. He looks very much like a girl and so in doing that, he some how gets roped into running for the prom queen. And, some how he wins and has to do that job for the school. His mother finds out and it turns into a big mess. but he likes it.

There is a WHAT up there?

This is a true halloween story that happened to me and my family the first halloween after we arrived in England in 1953.
We were living in Cambridge, in a house that had been built in 1863, per the date etched into a stone, above the front door on the second floor. The house was a three story house, and did indeed look old.

My entry for the All Hallows Eve Contest is a work in progress but it will be a story attached to my "That Summer I Found Her" Universe. The story is called "The Blood Red Tombstone" and it takes place during the month of All Hallows Eve in the same year Jessica, Kara, Lyndsey and Allysa get married. The story behind "The Blood Red Tombstone" will be told by Kara's grandmother and it will go back to 350 years previous before the Clans were forced to flee to America. It should be up very soon!

HTML regulations?

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Ok,I am a little confused (This is my first story) I understand that HTML format is used on BC to post stories, and also there are certain commands that I should leave out. I searched for a FAQ page or anything that had these rules, but I couldn't seem to find one. So, for a new author, what formatting rules should I be aware of?
Thanks,
Efren Rose

Been out for a run last night, my first real big hill route since my ankle tendon decided to complain in May. Only 4 or 5 miles and the legs still remember what I forced them to do.
Still good it is good to be able to go out even if I am about 25% slower. I do hope my speed and endurance recovers soon as I am now looking forward to which races I might do. Edale skyline next year is favourite at the mo

The Magic Eight Ball - They really work!

Last weekend we had our garage sale (I hate garage sales by the way) anyway, my daughters decided that they would try to sell some of their old toys as well.

One of the items they put out was a Magic 8 Ball. You know, you ask a question, shake the ball and look on the bottom for the 'magic' answer.

One of the neighbor kids came over, I think he's around seven. He was checking out the girls Magic 8 Ball and they were explaining it to him. He thought it was great.

My Nanay aka mother-in-law suffered two ischemic strokes last Saturday. At first we thought Nanay may recover from them, but beginning Tuesday she started sliding badly. An MRI today showed Nanay's brain to have more damage than first diagnosed. Nanay is all but gone now.

Pure coincidence, I'm certain, but I read Grover's steamy story, Men and Gods today, and then I found this article in Slate on the popularity of "smutty stories" on the Kindle. [Read it here]. In particular, the description of the novel Office Slave was reminiscent of scenes in several "forced slut" stories I've seen on these TG fiction sites.

So, could it be that "mainstream" literature, TG literature, and electronic reading devices are all in convergence?

Edeyn I have signed up and won every year since 2004, including last year when I severely broke my arm on November 6th! I finished my novel on day 1 last year, so just had to wait for verification to open up. 50,000 words -- depending on how it's formatted, is anywhere from about 115 pages to 200 pages if you stretch it... but it really is much less than what it sounds like, folks! Don't be daunted by the wordcount. One screen of typed text is about 500 words. So, approximately 100 screens. That's really not a lot!

Had a very sad moment with my daughter tonight. She sometimes slips and uses female pronouns for me, and she actually wondered out loud today why she does that. It took every bit of self control I possessed not to tell her why I think she does it. I am breaking apart here.

A Way I Hadn't Thought to Look at Things But Should Have

Another entry so soon!

I've been thinking about how "he" was not only a facade - and I am speaking only for myself on that - because "he" had a presence in this world, an influence, a purpose. "He" was still never the real me, of course, make no mistake there. However, there was a reason for "him" to exist. There were things "he" did that affected other people, like songs "he" wrote and stories "he" wrote and things "he" did. "He" had a very real and very valuable purpose in this world.

And thank God that's over with. lol
