Since yesterday, my stories have received 117 total hits on them. While I'm pleased by the number of hits, it's very unusual to get that many hits on old works in one day, and I wonder if there isn't someone out there doing this on purpose? Numbers are fine and all, and I thank anyone who has taken the time to read my stories, but false increases are just that...false increases. Since there are no additional comments to accompany these increased numbers, I have to assume that they are false.
Please, whoever is doing this... I appreciate your wanting my numbers to increase, but please stop doing this? It's not necessary.

Random clicking
When I get bored... I start going back and reading old stories by clicking on the author's name in the recent story posts you get a whole list.
I have likely visited your stories this past week... perhaps just perhaps... others are bored too.

if i read something i like by an author, i may go back through their stuff and read it. I would assume that no one would be increasing the number of hits for a nefarous reason, so i wouln't worry.

Been happening to me too. My most recent Catwoman story got 222 hits today, the rest of my stories *together* MAYBE got 30. Thanks for the attention, but if you really want to increase our numbers, go and link the stories to all the forums you visit. Advertise us, don't robo-refresh our numbers up.

Random Solos
At one time, the Random Solos on the left of the Home Page used to display the same stories for some time, but it doesn't seem to do that now, for me, anyway.
If there was any glitch in the random bit, that might account why you suddenly got lots of hits.
But hits are pretty meaningless. Did you pick up many Kudos?

When I publish a new chapter of Duty Honor Country Family, old chapters get a large amount of hits for a few days. But in the last twenty-four hours the book page for the story in the title of this comment, has gotten 118 hits.
I imagine a Chimpanzee somewhere playing with a mouse and continually clicking on their browser's refresh button.
