Lucy - A True Story

I am a bit surprised that there have been no comments on my recent story "Lucy".
I rushed a bit to publish this because when I was looking for images I discovered that there was that YouTube video and reference to the TV short, neither of which I knew about when I wrote this. I had assumed that this was a largely a forgotten piece of American history that had been excluded for inappropriate content ... but it is a great story. I hope that the TV item will be a dramatization of her speech to the court of which I have included a fragment.

The Arctic Fox

Well, for those of you following The Arctic Fox, or any of my other stories, it's going to be kinda slow getting the chapters up for a bit. This is a rather busy time of year for me, although COVID has slowed things down from how it usually is.

Anyway, please bear with me. The chapters will be posted. Just might take a bit more time.

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!

Transgender Menacing

Was just reading an article on BBC Internet that indicated a Transgender (MTF) woman was beaten, and handcuffed in Bangkok, Thailand. I had my SRS there in July of 2007 and it seemed that everyone was very friendly. SRS is still around $12,000 and here in the US it can go over $100,000. Sadly, now it seems that the neighborhood is gone to pot. (not weed)

Looking for a Story

I don't remember if it was here or on Fictionmania, but a couple of years ago I read a story of a boy who liked to dress as a girl. Once while dressed, he received a call from a relative, I believe a cousin. While talking with him, she kind of figured out what was going on. When they were together later, she asked him about it and he admitted it. She assisted him. At the end of the school year, they both worked at a resort along a river that was owned by relatives in her family and he worked the entire summer as a girl.

learning about my manic phase

Okay so I've been trying to be mindful of my emotional state during my current manic phase, and I think I found out something. I'm more suspectable to anger while manic.

I guess this makes sense, since I've seen people who are normally mild mannered turn angry and hostile after say having a few drinks.

So that's something I'm going to have to watch out for, but at least now I know it can happen.

Remembrance Sunday

As usual in the UK, the authorities, to avoid upsetting business, once more have us 'celebrating' a National day not on the day itself but on the following weekend, today then, the National mourning for those lost and injured in military conflict kicked off at 11.00am this morning. I always try to observe the 2 minute silence, its not always possible but this year a pause in the day's DIY efforts was enoiugh to take part and to see those in power doing their symbolic wreath laying at the Cenotaph in central London.

Thanks to a few more proof-read corrections from a friend, the last part of Light And Shadow is up! Whew! So anyone who may have been waiting to binge read the entirety, now you can go for it!

There's still much to tell in this saga, and many questions (evilly and sneakily) left unanswered to explore in the next installments - so I'll have to get busy on it as poor Jordan has a lot to figure out. I also have a feeling there could be a couple short stories around some of the other characters that may need to be written before the fifth book gets finished too.

Concerning the history of transgender people in the UK

This fascinating article appeared in today's i newspaper and it concerns the history of transgender people and how the law treated them. Very few knew of a court case from 1968 which was heard in private and the details hidden away. It certainly affected the conduct of the April Ashley case in 1970 and is basically about the establishment elite giving the rest of us, especially transsexual people the heave-ho until the European Court of Human Rights caused Blair's government to amend the law.

The Rise of the Feminist is it good or bad?

I was flicking through Youtube (as you do) I found some video's with feminists asking stupid questions. Really dumb stuff, why are men seen as the stronger sex? Men should be taught not to rape etc.

Ricky Gervais answered that one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYbQ3O1ebv8

I understand Feminists want (wanted) equality, that's fine, but men and women are not physically "equal" . Our bodies are designed to do different things.

Row on row they lie
In fields all around the world
They kept their word
And gave their all

They gave their lives
For the people
Sent by politicians
to defend their country

I Wonder what
They would say
If they were here today
The young of yesterday

"When you go home, tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow, we gave our today"

Doesn't anyone want to know me, or do I have to be just like "them"? Is this too much to ask? Am I simply a slave to others, is this enough, will they whip me and chain me too?

No scratches. No signs there had ever been scratches there.

Sharon originally asked us to come down at 9 AM so Sam could give her boss a direct deposit slip - only to call us just before we left to come down at 11 30 instead, then she called at 1030 and asked if we were on the way yet - it only takes us 20 min to get there.

then we get to Sam's work, and since its a pizza place nobody was there yet so we had to go to the mall so they could kill time until the manager would be there.

Wore the same rust colored shirtwaist dress both times with an all weather tan overcoat as the weather was in the forties. The gentlemen at the information center were a whole lot of fun Tuesday as I lightly flirted with them while asking directions to different medical teams. They were both laughing and passing back the sass each time I passed by. Tuesday was donate blood to the VA Vampires and dermatology.

Emotional Mindfulness

I've been trying to monitor my emotional state in terms of my bipolar issues, and I think I have discovered something.

I had assumed that my cycle followed a simple pattern - a slow curve up during my manic phase, followed by a slow curve down during my depression phase.

Apparently, its a bit more complicated than that.

During my current manic phase, I've had a couple of what I'm going to call "quick drops" - times when my mood suddenly went way down.

What does your trans-ness mean to you?

For all of us, it seems to be something different. For some it's about freedom, from societal expectations or toxic masculinity. For some it's about expression. For others, it's something as simple as a fetish, or as complete as a feeling of cosmic wrongness needing made right.

For me, my trans-ness is about despair.

Last Thursday, after my home oxy unit died and was replaced, I began to have trouble getting my breath under control. I was gasping very fast and could not get a full breath. Tina, my wife suggested we call an ambulance and I had to agree with her.

The rescue squad arrived very quickly and carried me down a tricky set of stairs that would not accommodate a gurney bed. They whisked me into the ambulance and immediately put me on oxygen and inserted an I.V. and off we went to the hospital.

I especially like the colorful, pretty dresses the women wear. I don't have direct experience with them. Sadly, I can not join their community. I hope that you enjoy this video.

Do trans women have more problems in the UK or USA?

Much of America seems a lot more religious than the UK. Our official religion is Church Of England, that usually means going for christening', weddings and funerals for most of us. C of E accept trans people now.

I did a lot of writing on _Angel of Earth_ the past couple of days, but it was mostly rough stuff, just getting basic ideas down.

Update: I hope none of you ever have to change a flat tire before going to the doctor. :-(

I failed (Passed?) the flu test, so it's not that. (Unlikely, since I've had this year's shot, but possible.) They also tested me for Covid-19, just in case. That result won't be in for a couple of days.

I had some unexpected time off the weekend before Hallowe'en, so I started looking for somewhere to go. It was for a number of reasons, one of which is agoraphobia of an odd kind. I spent uite a while off sick with some really nasty life-threatening stuff at the end of 2019, which has had a profound impact on my health, and that was of course followed by Covid0related lockdown. Normally, I would spend a lot of my time travelling all over the UK delivering awareness sessions and training regarding trans and intersex people, but that simply stopped dead.

I was half asleep in my bedroom, sorta listening to some show or video my wife was watching in the living room. I had almost drifted off, when I heard a metallic clang. And then ... I was someplace dark and cramped. I sorta knew I wasn't actually there, but it still felt real. I think I'm mostly grounded again, but I'm still smelling paint every once in a while, and my heart starts racing. Got all the lights on, which is helping a bit. Still a bundle of nerves. Not sure if I'm gonna be sleeping any more tonight.
