Not really a problem
I use apple laptops and desktops all the time. And drupal runs on our servers, not on your machines.

Thank you.
It will be a while before I do anything.

Same here
Every word that I have posted here was written on a MacBook. That is well over 1,000,000 words.
I had to use Windows as part of my job of writing software. I gave up using Windows at home in 2008 and moved to a MacBook. I do not regret it one little bit.
I use my Mac every day and try to write every day. It gets a lot of hard use. I will never ever go back to Windows especially as Microsoft is doing their very best to make it a total POS. Windows 7 was the pinnacle of Windows. IMHO, it has been downhill from there on.

Expensive
Those are much more expensive than a windows laptop

Yes this site will work
Yes, this site will work on any Apple device (Mac, iPad, even iPhone). However if you use the default browser (Safari), AND you happen to generically use an ad-blocker, make sure to exclude this site from the ad-blocker or it just won’t work. (Besides it being a good idea to ALWAYS exclude this site from ad-blockers because of finances for this site).
This comment is typed on my iPad :-)

Unless
You contribute via PayPal or Patreon. Those direct contributions will bring in far more revenue than a few dozen on screen ads.
Many sites are almost impossible to use because of all the ads, videos and trackers by the dozen. Blocking it all is IMHO the only way to make the internet usable.

A Mac User
I am a Mac user. Apple computers run Word, too. I prefer using Pages for it's ease and cost. Whenever I have to, I export documents in Word or as a PDF.
Granted, Apples are more expensive than Dell or HP. But, in the long run, it becomes a level playing field.
It's really up to the user.
Agreed and one thing that I will never miss
are those windows updates that can sit there for hours before finally telling you that it failed for some unintelligible reason.
Why can't almighty Microsoft bring its update process into the 21st Century? Why they force an update on a user is also beyond me.
With both MacOS and Linux, I get to choose when I do the update. The small Linux server that runs my blog regularly clocks more than 300 days between restarts. It only gets restarted for a kernel update or when I need to clean the air vents of dust.
Personally, I think that Microsoft's increasingly dictatorial stance on what you can do with your computer (wrt the OS etc) and the likely introduction of subscriptions for things you probably never knew that you needed but they will make Windows impossible to use without them... will drive a lot of people away. Things like forcing you to have a Microsoft account, making OneDrive mandatory even if you never use it... etc, etc.
I do not regret dropping windows entirely when I retired almost six years ago.

ROFL
Do you honestly think that Google is any better? IMHO, they are far worse. At least Apple does not sell your details to the highest bidder from the Ad Slinging Industry?
In a world where individual freedoms are being taken away on an almost daily basis, Apple is (at least publicly) concerned with your personal privacy and data. AFAIK, Android is the wild-wild-west.
Or???? did you forget to put a "/s" on your post.

PS. I do not upgrade anything every year. I was out yesterday morning taking photos of damsel flies using a Camera that I bought in 1978. IIABDFI.
My dislike of apple goes back
My dislike of apple goes back to having to install itunes on my pc just to use an ipod. Having a an iphone to use for work and having to pay for a ringtone. Apple computers used to prevent 3rd parties from making parts for their computers.
I have noticed that many people I work with that have a macbook, seem to have a iphone, iwatch etc.
I'm under no illusions about google. I use a windows pc for work and at home I use Linux.
Targeted advertising it seems is here to stay whatever platform
It seems that Apple has a deal with google to sell your information too.

You don't have to use google, but many do because it is so useful. The same as Android devices.

Writer Only.
My cognition is not the best, but I do enjoy writing. I have done a bit of messing with hardware at times but software is often completely inscrutable to me. I do Word from Windows, and use Google on the internet and that seems enough for me to squeeze by.
