Merritt Lane McGraw feels he is a girl, but he is living through the Great Depression and World War II. His confusion leads him into many strange encounters.
Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows
Fair is the lily of the valley
Clear is the water that flows from the Boyne
But my love is fairer than any.
Another old story of mine. Was meant to be the first part of a longer story but most people seemed to like it as a stand alone horror piece so I left it that way.
The Ward
By Bruce
I had known Anne since I was 4 years old. We lived a few houses apart in one of those neighborhoods in the suburbs that had once been filled with young families but had aged into older couples through the years. It was only natural we became friends, there was no other kids within blocks of us.
Looking down on parlour rooms where people talk, but all you hear is a distant murmur. People gathering around someone, a blond classical beauty. The dress perfect ~ bronze and coppery striped over-skirt tied at the waist with a blue and white satin ribbon belt. A bow of lace at the back hanging down. Head adorned by a black slouch bonnet, with a large white and black ribbon arrangement, her hair shining in long curls hanging down to her shoulders.

CHAPTER 45
That was indeed the start of a new life and lives. Em was home in a few days, and as a constant stream of wellwishers, including several pupils, came round the house to pay their respects and leave flowers and chocolates, babygros and bootees, we learned how little sleep it is possible to exist on.

This was my first posted TG story on Mindy's Sierra BBS way back for those who remember the old pre web days. I hope people can still enjoy this story. I'm really happy to be getting back into writing after a 10 year break and should be posting new material soon.

Bree caught Gina out of the corner of her eye. She thought that Gina would come join the fun they were having with Rachel. She looked and watched her walk slowly away. Bree didn’t like something she saw.
“Hey, you two, I need to get out now, I feel like a raisin”

The next morning, she had a surreal experience putting on the boy’s jeans, sweatshirt, shoes, and ball cap she had gotten yesterday. She checked herself in the mirror to see what she looked like. She couldn’t help but stare at her reflection. She remembered back when she kind of thought she looked like a boy dressed like a girl, but now, there was no way she could be anything but a girl dressed as a boy.
